  1. You mention movies that were meh and what seemed like a side note of how Star Wars took down Toys R Us. I'm not sure I was supposed to know there was a hotel involved.
  2. @Ghost That's the way I'm leaning,.. while not committing. I went with picking one of each franchise rather than say multiple Captain Americas.
  3. @PeregrineFalcon so this is about a hotel, not even the movies?!
  4. Work in progress and in no particular order. Thor: Ragnarok (2017) Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) Avengers: Endgame (2019) Black Panther (2018) Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) Iron Man (2008) Captain Marvel (2019) Ant-Man (2015) Ant-Man knocked Black Widow out of the top 10. Could easily list multiple Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Avengers, Guardians, Thor, etc. movies.
  5. Rankings.. ughh Having seen a number of the debates and disagreeing with some know narcissists, it made sense to go take a look at popular opinion. I was curious to see where my preference might diverge. (if the word narcissist above triggered you it wasn't meant to, but.. ) 22 connected movies climaxed with Avengers: Endgame. That is just crazy. I'd really like to pick a favorite and realize I might be able to pick five or six or twelve. (Dang it's a big list!) Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Avengers, Deadpool, holy crap that's a lot of awesomeness. That said; Edward Norton's 2008 'The Incredible Hulk' is on the list below, so there may be some.. I don't want to say 'stinkers', let's go with 'less than hoped for'. Rotten Tomatoes Editorial (link) (that would have been a great rickroll but I didn't). Black Panther (2018) Avengers: Endgame (2019) Iron Man (2008) Thor: Ragnarok (2017) Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) Marvel's the Avengers (2012) Captain America: Civil War (2016) Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) Doctor Strange (2016) Ant-Man and The Wasp (2018) Avengers: Infinity War (2018) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) Ant-Man (2015) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023) Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) Captain Marvel (2019) Black Widow (2021) Iron Man 3 (2013) Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) Thor (2011) Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) Iron Man 2 (2010) Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) The Incredible Hulk (2008) Thor: The Dark World (2013) Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) The Marvels (2023) Captain America: Brave New World (2025) Eternals (2021) Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania (2023) Phases of the MCU movies: Another List: https://screenrant.com/marvel-movies-mcu-ranked-best-worst/
  6. Lots of places do. With such a high return on investment the incentives are good government. "The British Film Institute studies how effective these incentives are for the people of the United Kingdom, showing that for every dollar film companies receive in tax incentives, they spend $10 in the country. At a 10 times return, the UK government receives on its investment in films and television. In 2019, the UK government estimates that filming created more than 40,000 jobs in the country. So, the benefits come not just from the spending but also from the taxes these new employees pay to the government."
  7. Oh geez. not everything is manipulated or cherry picked. I just happened to parse part of a list for the newer movies (see below) and then individually looked up the movies at boxofficemojo.com @biostem I think that Disney / Lucasfilm was half cash and half stock. @PeregrineFalcon The story below makes it sound like Disney earned the investment back. That's why I'm asking if I missed something. I'll look at the video linked by ShardWarrior.
  8. Correct me if I am completely wrong, which ones were meh? Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens (2015) ($2,071,310,218) Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) ($1,058,684,742) Star Wars: Episode 8 - The Last Jedi (2017) ($1,334,407,706) Star Wars: Episode 9 - The Rise of Skywalker (2019) ($1,077,022,372) I want to understand where you are coming from because, to me, it doesn't look like they are losing money. (I went to Galaxy's Edge and it was amazingly lavish, treat yourself if you haven't gone) Maybe I am naive here, but boards tend to be steady and forward looking. The Kennedy move looks like succession planning. Is it that she has dirt on someone, or has been more consistent and successful than almost everyone sans a handful. "Kennedy has produced films which have earned over $11 billion worldwide, including five of the fifty highest-grossing movies in film history. As a producer, she has received eight Best Picture Academy Award nominations."
  9. Yep.. but that's the number that was released and the movie will eclipse $300M this weekend.
  10. Grosses (thru 2/25/25) Domestic (49.5%) $145,631,098 International (50.5%) $148,368,477 Worldwide $293,999,575 @PeregrineFalcon Budget publicly stated by Marvel/Disney as $180,000,000.
  11. City of Data v2.0 https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=blaster_support.darkness_manipulation.soul_drain&at=blaster Duration looks to be 30s
  12. could be close..
  13. @Snarky see what you are missing out on?
  14. 210 accounts logged into the forum at this time an additional 102 guests viewing the forums (could be bots, searches, etc) 'x' number of new accounts per day (x being a larger than expected number) If reasons for not utilizing those channels even occasionally include unwanted exposure or increase threats.. we are likely already there.
  15. Hasten is an active power. It can help teach players about recharge, chasing perma, timers, blinking icons, and endurance management. In my opinion: Only after tackling endurance is a permanent Hasten more beneficial to a character than keeping their toggles up. New characters learn lessons from how some of the powers work. Sure, if we skip to 50 with each new character the preceding statement becomes less relevant. Making Hasten a toggle or inherent could be a bit more complicated than it may appear at first blush. Possible, sure!
  16. /mental will be there when you are ready.. and you will be a godlike death machine
  17. um.. even redsiders do missions to further the cause. it is always excellent to see a passing "whoa that's Troo, they wrecked Black Scorpion big time"
  18. ..end of story 😛
  19. Search Proc Monsters Good place to start: There should be a version of the above for the AT you want.
  20. not the first try at computers trying to create builds. it's not gonna do the character justice but it is interesting.
  21. really, 'just as much as anyone else'. thats what your are gonna hang you hat on? 🙂 and you seemed to have missed my point while basically agreeing with it.
  22. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/release/rl2597421825/?ref_=bo_hm_rd I love folks trying to armchair quarterback Disney. Really?! Folks think Disney is losing money? Even on movies you and I may not like, they are making money. Even when they spend more than they bring in they are making money. It's just they are playing 3d chess while us knuckle draggers are playing checkers.
