It's gonna be great. At first it can definitely seem overwhelming as a brand new player (but it only seems that way). This game is very forgiving. No need to stress about making a mistake. /ah = Auction House and can be accessed anywhere so long as a player is not in a supergroup base or mission. just type /ah into the chat line and the popup will appear. Short Version Dual-Origin Enhancements Single-Origin Enhancements Often referred to as SOs, provide twice as much improvement as DOs. Invention Origin Enhancements IOs bought from the /ah or crafted from recipes. Invention Origin Enhancements Sets Similar as above but with additional nuances. Dual & Single Origin Enhancements are tied to Origin and can be slotted up to 3 levels higher and 3 levels lower than the character. Enhancements 4 or more levels above the character display their level in red. They cannot be inserted into slots. Enhancements 4 or more levels below the character provide no benefit as the character has out leveled them. Enhancements that are already slotted may replaced or combined with appropriate-level Enhancements (combing has chance of success based on the level difference of the enhancements). Invention Origin Enhancements - Regular ones such as plain accuracy or damage don't get out leveled. That's the primary difference between SOs and IOs. These will continue to work as a character levels but stay at their value (a higher level enhancement will have a higher value). Bought from the /ah or Crafted from recipes by using an Invention Worktable at a University or in a supergroup base. Invention Origin Enhancements Sets Same as above These can provide more nuanced enhancement like +acc/+dam or +acc/+dam/+rech rather than just one aspect. Frankenstein slotting +acc/+dam from multiple 'sets' is a common strategy for a power. On the flip side of frankenslotting are the Set Bonuses. This is where slotting multiple enhancements from a 'set' can provide a bonus to the whole character rather than just to the power. Note: Enhancement Diversification/Diminishing Returns keeps us from slotting 200% damage in a power. Enhancement Diversification is based on a system of diminishing returns on enhancements slotted to raise bonuses to a very high level. Example: After say 99% enhancement, each additional enhancement may provide less improvement. We can still do it but return on investment is lower. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Enhancement_Diversification Others to worry about later (seriously, no need to learn about these at first): Archetype Enhancements Winter Origin Enhancements Special Enhancements Boosting Enhancements Catalyzing Enhancements Long Version https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Enhancements I'll leave at that as you may have additional specific questions.

Such cool animations. One of the best Assassin's Strike long animations (it's very smooth with a nice pop at the end) But the rest is simply trash. For years we got to hear how bad Regeneration was, even though some were able to pilot them just fine and even excel. Is there anyone out there who feels Kinetic Melee can excel that could provide some insight or tips? Much appreciated. Top questions: Which archetype has the best version? Skippable powers? Special slotting?

Claws over performs on Scrappers compared to other archetypes. Should the set rely on more than three or four powers? Typical buzzsaw attack chain: Follow Up -> Focus -> Slash -> [epic/other] -> repeat Power Level Effect Swipe 1 Melee, DMG(Lethal) Strike 1 Melee, DMG(Lethal) Slash 2 Melee, DoT(Lethal), Foe -DEF(All) Spin 6 PBAoE, DMG(Lethal) Follow Up 8 Melee, DMG(Lethal), Self +DMG, +To-Hit Confront 12 Ranged, Foe Taunt Focus 18 Ranged, DMG(Lethal), Foe Knockdown Eviscerate 22 Melee (Cone), DMG(Lethal), +Special Shockwave 26 Melee (Cone), DMG(Lethal), Foe Knockback

not everything has to be the same.

I think scrapper versions of Lightning Rod is 16 and Tremor is 10 so these target caps may be working as intended.

With power comes responsibility.. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Accessibility of Communications in Video Games What are the obligations for video game companies? Video game companies must ensure that any advanced communications services they offer, such as voice or text chat, are accessible and usable by individuals with disabilities, unless doing so is not achievable. To achieve this, video game companies may either build accessibility into the video game hardware or software, or use third-party accessibility solutions that are available to consumers at nominal cost. When ensuring accessibility through these options is not achievable, developers and service providers must ensure that their services and equipment are compatible with peripheral devices, such as screen readers or specialized equipment commonly used by individuals with disabilities, if achievable. Video game companies that provide ACS must not install network features, functions, or capabilities that impede accessibility or usability.

Maybe Ninjitsu would be too strong on a Tank.

City Badge Tracker machine broken...Excelsior at least
Troo replied to DeathMcKillenstein's topic in Bug Reports
Given the that we are approaching a month, could folks at least get the Null version back until such time as the terminal is actually working? -
Neighborhood pins on the map, right?

Titan Weapons might be hard to do on Stalkers, similar to Ninjutsu for Brutes & Tanks. So: Battle Ax, War Mace, & Super Strength to Stalkers. Super Strength to Scrappers

yep 'they' did.. while patting themselves on the back and squealing "I did a thing"

Oh this totally happens. A computer 4 levels up, a final target that found it's way through a hole in the wall. The rest of what you said, +1. @Vinque I too would recommend switching (at least to start). Switch to Everlasting or Excelsior, and start a character in Atlas Park. Do the Matthew Habashy missions while you wait for a DFB (death from below) to start and then join that team. If the computer you are using hasn't been used in a while, Operating system update(s) may be trying to download even if you have the option turned off. Updates downloading or background tasks can result in performance issues. Running the game over wifi can result in performance issues. Restarting the router itself can sometimes correct an issue. I have had rubberbanding issues. I've gone through modems, I've added RAM, upped our service, etc. it sucked. Often unexplainable. You're not the only one.

Well there are all those pesky players who have existing characters some of which might be favorite characters. Those players may not appreciate the modifications. I am not one of them in this case, but have had characters pushed through the meat grinder of creative revamps.. some characters more than once. I don't appreciate it. It's not fun. I do get what is being said, I'm just pointing out the flip side and current track record.

maybe I am bugged.. 😞 it is a small weird thing that 'can' happen while likely working as intended but it can cause a little confusion, escalate heated interactions and increase necessary moderation. I'm just noting it with no expectation of a change. I tried to post this before and it was taken down likely due to those quoted complaining.

maybe you are bugged.. 😛

Your character will evolve as it grows. Some powers may be important early and not needed later in the game. I would recommend going all offense and taking placate. A scrappy bugger who is there and then not there. Hide should be good enough for most situations.
-
yep that's it.

Scrapper>Brute>Tanker & Tanker>Brute>Scrapper are not as neat and tiddy as some may like. Toss in Stalkers, VEATs, and HEATs and it gets messier for melee characters. Who should be doing the most damage is very situational and also target dependent. Tanks and Scrapper could excel on teams as they can focus on what they do best. Brutes could be better solo with a balance of survivability and damage output, but that is my opinion and an oversimplification that doesn't take into account player skill, primary & secondaries, build choices, team buffs, incarnates and a myriad of other factors.

Try quoting a portion of just the Captain Powerhouse quote in the first post of this thread. It switches the attribution: Here I'll do yours: If you try quoting just the yellow of what is attributed to you above, you might see the bug. Either way thanks for trying to duplicate.

[OPEN BETA] Patch Notes for July 6th, 2025
Troo replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Patch Notes
Does that mean the notes for the July 8th Update were also incorrect and incomplete? Powers Plant Control > Spirit Tree: Fixed a bug where this power could be repelled moving it away from its visual fx. Thermal Radiation > Power of the Phoenix: Fixed a bug where the Defender version of this power was only usable on foes. Epic > Dark Mastery > Soul Consumption: Fixed a bug where the Defender version of this power was recharging in 1000s instead of 600s. Fixed a bug where the endurance drain and +end of the Defender version of the power was scale 2 instead of scale 1, as the other versions. Regeneration > Second Wind: Fix for an issue where refreshing this power before it has expired would result in no refreshing of the self resurrect effect. Psionic Armor > Impose Presence: Fixed an issue where this power was available at level 10 instead of level 8. Confuse: Fixed an issue where most AVs and GMs became highly resistant to confuse. Regeneration > Reactive Regeneration: [PvP only] Corrected a bug where only Brutes got the base +regen reduction change, change now also applies to Scrappers, Stalkers and Tankers. [PvP only] Reduced +regeneration stacks from scale 0.25 to scale 0.08. [PvP only] Regen Resistance granted by stacks in this power has been removed in PvP. [PvP only] Reverted the removal of -Regen Resistance, as it was removed from the incorrect power. -
Try quoting the Captain Powerhouse quote in the OP. I am also using Firefox.

[OPEN BETA] Patch Notes for July 6th, 2025
Troo replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Patch Notes
T h a n k s f o r t h e r e p l y.. We get it. Stubbornly forcing a design vision that does not work for all archetypes throughout the game and having to make adjustments after the fact. Sure devs said, "Folks won't have to respec". Really it is more: The heck with anyone who doesn't respec, and the heck with anyone that doesn't play the way we think they should. Instant Healing worked one way for a long time before Issue 28, Page 2, it wasn't changed by the revamp, but now it has to be changed because.. PvP reasons. Seriously?! ----------- - - ----------- ..meanwhile still no documenting, addressing, or reversing the 8-10 values that were massively changed (-90%) in Moment of Glory. If there were zero situations these changes would effect why bother?.. but that isn't guaranteed, is it? It's probably not FUN dealing with all the loose ends, bugs, mistakes, AND crap from us players. It's not FUN for players having existing long time characters trashed and shelved.
