Okay.. that was a little funny. Something working semi randomly with little rhyme or reason would be frustrating.

um.. I haven't insisted on this. This is a Cottage Rule discussion. A d i s c u s s i o n. You continue to throw out there various versions of if folks don't like it, they can leave. We get it, go ahead & restate it a dozen different ways like this gem below. Still lame.

All versions of "if folks don't like it they can leave" from just one post. The illusion of choice is not really a choice at all.

The descriptions and instructions just fail to make that super obvious. Power siphon says it stacks but shows no +Dmg

You'd think there was some janky mechanic with a mysterious secret interaction. That's how it feels, like user error. "I must be doing something wrong". It has such great potential and did it with as High Beam said, style. The animations are great. (could be a martial artist, an elemental, a wizard, lots of flavor) I loved the idea of a set that didn't have Build Up. The sound effects.. they get a little more mixed reactions. To me they are okay to sometimes leaning a little scratching on a chalkboard-ish. I do like the pop at the end of the attack. Maybe the light attack controls are too inconsequential. The disorients are laughably low chance and short duration. A ground punch style Hand Clap would even be an improvement. Smashing Blow 33.00% chance for 3.00 magnitude stun for 4.80s on target compared to Bone Smasher 60.00% chance for 3.00 magnitude stun for 6.40s on target I've never been able to put a finger on one thing that is wrong. It's a mess. Maybe tweaking it to where the concept is quick attacks that prioritized control aspects setting up slower heavy hitters/finishers would be straight forward and more effective.

Public Service Announcement Costume creators! Heads up - Some of the amazing regulars are happy to provide info on how to do stuff. Just ask. Common Tips I Wish I Knew Earlier: When creating a post and uploading an image we can resize that image by double clicking on the image. Be sure to have 'Keep original aspect ratio' checked. Enter a desired size such as 100 then click somewhere else. This will auto calculate the other dimension. There are also up/down arrows. Getting the height to 400-ish or 500 range seems to work well and allows room to put images next to each other rather than just stacking. After posting, viewers can click on an image to enlarge it. (so we don't have to have 'em huge) There are storage limitations on this board, and it is fairly generous. When we hit the limit for our account, deleting some to upload more is common. This can be done at 'My Attachments' by clicking the little arrow next to our avatar at the top right (phones / devices may vary) There are some sorts to help put the largest upfront, sort by date, etc. If you have a tips related to costumes or posting them please share.

This explains sooooo much.

Everything is fine here, move along. lol

Wait, do you get invited to lots of parties?

Interesting and so very insightful. Question: Are you the tool in the redshirt or are you implying that is the Homecoming team? All I ask is that you try, just a little bit. ..but you do you.

Every version of Hide needs a No-FX option. Full stop.
Troo replied to Lazarillo's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If all you are asking for is to lose the transition graphics while keeping the transparency, seems like a reasonable suggestion. Note: I wasn't expecting such a reasonable request based on the title and all the words with no images. But it got me to read it, so there's that. -
I agree. (with both @golstat2003 and @Psyonico) However that's not who is making suggestions en masse. That is not who is repeating over & over how bad a power or powerset is until it must be true and gets added to a mysterious list to be 'addressed'. It's often the squeaky wheel, the complainer, the numbers > fun folk pushing powers. (no insults intended, I've complained) The change process could be better served, in my opinion, by laying out a goal and asking for some feedback to the goal; rather than getting picked apart at the 11th hour over minutia. Then take the feedback, (and this is important) restate the goal given the feedback, and go do what needs to be done. Plenty of warning something is happening and a general idea what is coming down the pipe. A little communication goes a long way. C'est la vie. Meeting and exceeding expectations builds trust. A guideline like the Cottage Rule (which is just some made up shit) goes a long way toward earning trust, retaining, or losing trust. Homecoming could layout their own guideline,.. but they haven't. (I don't blame them, getting your words thrown back at you isn't always fun) Instead we get the occasional confirmation that, yes, Homecoming is endeavoring to be mindful of original core functions & purposes while making improvements and will try to retain them. That's basically the Cottage Rule. It's fairly subjective and worthy of discussion over time.

You missed the trimmed posts maybe. I guess without context... I'll reread and edit if needed.

Sure you did. And that is shitty.

Ground Zero offensive proc activation rate drastically reduced since i28p2
Troo replied to Maelwys's topic in Bug Reports
Is there an extra accuracy check that the procs trigger off of? Changing it from basically an autohit might have something to do with the lower proc results. (WAG) -
Arguing semantics is pretty weak. Anything in lawyer speak is in my opinion gross. Getting told in lawyer speak to go-play-somewhere-else is lame.
-
Don't be a dick. That would be my preference.

I agree. I disagree. Not all the 'we' trust. I can fix your statement though: "who we as a community have to trust to make those decisions on our behalf." and this is a reason for the Cottage Rule concept being discussed. "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far"
-
oh geez.. Really?! "Not a single one" Sounds so confident. If I show one, you take both June and July off from City of Villains/Heroes and all associated boards/forums/etc.. Deal? You don't even play much anymore so it shouldn't be a big deal. It's basically just a break from posting. I was going to try and explain here but decided before doing so you should have some skin in the game. I played along with your tell-me-which-one-so-I-can-argue-against-it.

[OPEN BETA] Patch Notes for June 19th, 2025

and Instant Healing? -
and you get to judge? See that's the rub. You can articulate but that alone shouldn't impact another player. You get to do what you want just as they do. Someone doesn't like a power set, don't play it. I don't like perma-dom so I don't play a whole archetype. Let those who enjoy it play how they want.

No kidding. What a shitty response. I appears you are: 1. ignoring that some folks may not like doing respecs 2. ignoring that some folks may inadvertently have to do a second respec because the are unaware changes are still happening. 3. ignoring that the first respec will consume the provided token. Nice, we see you chumming up the moderator after posts from others have been removed. We see you for the troll you are.
