  1. The 'Villainously Cost Effective' series of builds goal is not to create the most bestest build ever, it is to create a build that exceeds budget expectations. To use less expensive and readily available enhancements and still achieve good survivablility and endurance management BEFORE incarnates. These should be easily personalized and still be effective. ~75 enhancement slots total: ~55 enhancements for ~1-1.2M each or less, ~10 enhancements for ~2-3M each should total less than 95M, leaving ~10 enhancements that well exceed 3M (purps are spendy) Archetype: Corruptor Primary Power Set: Fire Blast Secondary Power Set: Kinetics w/o Incarnates a bit higher w/ Alpha Agility Corruptor - Fire - Kin.mxd <--older Mids format Powers selections with enhancements Credit: Voltak who has taken a similar build through hardcore missions at the highest settings

Build: Soft capped or near soft capped defense with effective endurance management. Pre-Incarnates Swap to Agility instead of Musculature Blaster - Psychic - Mental.mxd <--older mids format (replace Psionic Dart with Dominate Will in game, same slotting) Powers selections with enhancement sets This ported well to Fire Blast, Ice Blast, and Assault Rifle. Many of the other sets would likely work as well.
  3. @AK The Bro So how's this going? Still only 2 posts (on this account). Oh Black Ass, did you provide the OP with any builds to look at or reference? Did you help the OP with any power suggestions or guidance? Maybe I missed them. You get to have your opinions but it does get old watching you try and troll JJ and their builds all over the forum.
  4. Maybe it's a good idea, maybe not. But that would be a different game likely requiring different backend and engine. (not shouting you down)
  5. Negative, Ghost Rider. That pattern may be closed.
  6. Bad games/products are worked on and released all the time. Delusion is common. Games have to nail so much; look & feel, controls, sound, balance of challenge/reward on top of story & immersion being captivating and fun. The odds of getting it right are not high. Choosing to jump into a niche with comparable offerings can be dangerous versus creating something unique. While not interested in Ship of Heroes since early on, that team may have been better served leaning heavily into "a tiny indie team on a shoe string budget" and lowering expectations. Anthem - Great example of nailing almost everything but badly missing on just a couple basic aspects. Not rare: Judging from the long development cycle and the emphasis on the game being AAA, _____ likely invested over $200 million in the project - money they obviously can’t recoup. While _____ has improved the game since its launch, there is often no second chance to make a good first impression in the video game industry.
  7. I wouldn't be against some MINOR cleanup. Move some stuff to Ouroboros if needed. Additional content, additional power sets should still be the focus of continued development while supporting the back end. I would not mind a new tutorial to level 50 arc being created.
  8. Oh exceptions, false assumptions, and the fallacy of impatience.. (none of this is meant to offend, just a different perspective) "The population has dropped about 10% for whatever reason" Multi-boxers likely have an outsized impact, so is it really 10%, 3.33%, or most likely somewhere in between? Besides, population ebbs and flows with the calendar as does character creation. Prices: I made my first infamy capped marketer early on; crafting, converting, and selling generally at the asking price of 1.124-1.24M with the usual valuables being more. Prices since went way up, roller coastered, and most recently have come down. (1B build last year being 800M currently, sure that tracks.. but give it a month) I'll also point toward the Winter Pack exploit as finally having been mostly flushed from the system. (folks buying hundreds/thousands of these in my opinion did a number on the economics) (Why am I saying exploit? Simple: Too much guaranteed reward for too little effort or risk while not playing and adding little back to the game) ------ -- ------- A couple days versus a week or so. More patience can be rewarded. (It is good to know folks are noticing something trend wise, so thanks for that) Not in a hurry to sell, not in a hurry to buy. I've never taken the Reward Merits > Convertors > Cash route (I appreciate those that do). I use Reward Merits for Winters or similar if I'm missing one or two pieces of a build. Patience can save us 40-60%, sometimes even more. Convertors cost me 51-53K. I put in orders for a 100-150 to top off my stash and am willing to wait.
  9. It was a surprise. Now you know. See above. Just for fun.
  10. So long as existing controller user's setups aren't borked as a result of course.
  11. I am pretty sure you can take any character (any level) into a level 1 match.
  12. ish.. no. It is a big leap from what I asked, "..would it still be run as often?" to "If people are only running Numina to get the accolade". Yes. Choices, consequences. Not necessarily requirements seems very player friendly. The game is what it is. Folks like the game or not. We've been playing the game for how long? Are we playing a game we don't like for that long? It is a mix of elements that work in concert with each other.
  13. yep and likely related to: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/60762-help-i-cant-log-back-in-now-that-server-maint-is-over/
  14. Hello. You need anything, you let me know. @Troo Tip for New Players: It's hard to really mess up in this game. Try stuff. Go for it. Make mistakes. Get defeated. Take a Fly, Super Speed, or Super Jump power as soon as you can (Fly is fun, I like Super Jump). Other stuff: No need to hoard gear. (salvage, inspirations, recipes, enhancements) Being defeated is minor and how we learn what we can and can't do. Our character wakes up in a med bay and loses nothing. The run back to where we were is time to make a new plan. It's a pretty big game with layers, enjoy it. No hurry. Ask for help. Get stuck, ask for help. Run into a enemy you can't get past, ask for help. Don't understand something, ask for help. There's no 'right way' to play. Pro Tip: Editing costumes is free until level 10. Talk to (click on) a trainer like Ms Liberty in Atlas Park, select 'Customize Your Appearance', pick one of the costume slots and start a new look. (we get ~5 costumes to start)
  15. WHAT!?!! [01:07] You begin to open the chest. [01:07] You've opened the treasure chest! [01:07] That be no mere pebble! 'tis a diamond fierce enough to cut the very wind!
  16. You are not a wierdo, at least not for having this opinion. 😛 I also lean toward earning them for each character. I do however get that some folks have [insert reason(s) like limited time] and feel they have done them ad nauseum. If defeating 200 fake nemesis is a badge do I need to do it 20,000 times for my 99 alts? Currently, YES if I want that badge and the accolade for each of them.. should I get credit at some point for defeating some excessive number of them across the account? Maybe. I am open to ideas/suggestions. (I have likely many many more than 20K of them) Note: We do already have account wide badges and at least one account wide accolade.
  17. Badges Not the accolades themselves. This is easily a slippery slope and as such careful consideration would need to be applied. Question: If the Numina task force was no longer required for the accolade Task Force Commander (+5%hp) would it still be run as often? Question: If it a task force is not run as often does that have an impact beyond an individual player? There are some defeat all, exploration, history, achievement badges that, we hear you, after acquiring them a dozen times might feel like a grind. Many of the defeat all badges can be completed doing content without trying to hunt them. (opinions on this may vary) Unveiler: You have shown great endurance in tackling the Fake Nemesis robots time and time again in your search for the real Nemesis. History badges, as a player how many times do we need to take the same history class...? Standard Suggestion Disclaimer: Someone who would actually have to do any work is welcome to comment on feasibility or level of effort, that is not something needed to be debate here or guessed at. There is no expectation of implementation. It is understood any suggestion may be taken in part or in whole and modified. Suggestion: Reward continued play with easier access to parts of the stat boosting accolades. Level of continued play to be determined. Which badges to be determined. 'Easier' to be determined.
  18. My comment is meant as nothing more it's face value. I am not aware of any big pvp renaissance going on. If asked, would folks say there are more or less pvp players now than when fake-accolades were introduced? If I could borrow and tweak some of your text to outline an over generalized logic flow: Accolades can be necessary in order to be competitive. Removing the hassle of doing a bunch of objectives to get those accolades seemed like a good move. Now less players. I acknowledge there could be many many considerations and contributors not included in that logic. This is not an attack on the precious.. My point is: If we take away earned build contributors it could have unintended impacts and ultimately impact player base. It is a consideration. I always have rattling around in my mind - customer acquisition cost, retention, cogs, life time value, why, core values, return on investment, engagement, replay-ability.. Bottom line = Mess with the secret sauce too much and there may be less customers.
  19. Makes sense to put it out there being simply curious what responses might be either way. My opinion: Folks gotta play the game at some point. There should be rewards for actually playing the game. Even if it's simply acknowledgement of defeating x number of enemies. (some folks might think 'grind' or 'gating' but that's not really the case) Could there be an acknowledgement of having earned a particular accolade 25 times, sure. Keeping in mind that it is not the same earning some accolades on one archetype compared to another, much less character to character. The whole fake-accolades being created partially so PVPers didn't have to farm characters hasn't panned out. Folks could surmise a similar result in PVE if the game starts giving away rewards earned by playing. ('giving away' is basically the same as an associated cost once enough wealth is accumulated)
