Having never tried to organize one of these myself, I find @Nightwatch and @Oklahoman have done an excellent job of explaining the "Why" of how they try to organize these events. I was aware that there were issues inviting Cross-Faction but didn't realize that it was only an issue if they were not in Zone, so good plan, saves everyone a lot of time. I have always struggled, in a busy area, to keep a conversation going as it scrolls by pretty quick, so in this case less chat is desirable. @Oklahoman did a nice enough job explaining and laying out his post that it is worthy of being copied to the guides sub-forum in my opinion.

I suddenly feel so....small

I may be remembering this wrong but isn't there a way to back up a base on your PC? If so, anyone could create a few generic, fully equipped bases, that anyone could copy and load into the base editor, which would make this a no DEV time required process. I would defer to the base building experts on this one.

Seems to me I once got " Trusted with the Secret " badge doing a level 15 or so mission, can't remember who the contact was but it involved a Gangster Boss who could, during the fight, Time Travel away from you and then come back to attack. It wasn't a contact I usually do or I would remember more, ring a bell? Edit: I remembered wrong, I was level 20 when I got the badge not level 15, I just knew it was early and different. Any mission from any contact as I understand it, that involves time travel, grants the Badge and Access. The Arc I was thinking of was The Magic Man from Mercedes Sheldon, 20-25 normal, listed 25-29 in Ouro.

I think that covers it nicely. It's well documented our average age is in the 40-70 range. Some of this is crap we would scold our children or grand children about doing, and rightfully so. Bullying, baiting and being verbally abusive is childish, and something most anyone in this community should have put behind them long ago.

zones that are never used ( for the most part)
Marine X replied to MikeEmike's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Boomtown has 3 of the most challenging to find Exploration badges in the Game, even with VidiotsMaps and has the War Walker Event for Merits and a Badge. Babbage Spawns there as well. It's also a great place to Street Sweep when you're in that level range due to the large Mobs of Council. Terra Volta is by far the best place to hunt both Freakshow Tanks ( 100 required for Freedom Phalanx Reserve ) or Sky Raiders as they are easy to find and plentiful. Also home to the Respec Trial. The First Ward and Night Ward Missions and Arcs are some of the Best Written in the Game, with some Novel game mechanics and the enemy groups are more difficult than most, something I hear people asking for quite often, to not do these is missing out on something special, even if you aren't Praetorian. Echo: Faultine is the Best Place to hunt Clockwork Princes ( which spawn Clockwork Gears needed for Freedom Phalanx Reserve ) as they are abundant. Echo: Dark Astoria is great for working on Banisher Badge ( 200 Banished Pantheon Spirit Masks ) and the home of Adamaster, one of the only in game Giant Monsters who can be summoned on demand. Basically these all have things they are useful for, and occasionally you will even be assigned a mission there by a Contact from a different Zone. I think it would probably be better to just supplement the content of these with Arcs at the level each zone was created to serve and allow them to keep their Level Range -
I believe that a lot of people get bored and impatient pretty quickly with anything, whether it be a Game or Anything else. With the Kickstarter Games mentioned in OPs post, they have really about lost all the patience anyone had for how long it was going take to create, probably including themselves. I don't think that CoX being up and running will have much effect on their success or failure, we are a pretty small community, and they were once part of it, so I wish them Luck. Just remember how every body and their brother did a server pile-on back in April and May of 2019 to the point they had to keep adding shards, then by June or July the crisis was over and the population went to about where it is now, as far as active players, people got bored, and off they went. I have been seeing a lot of new, and I mean NEW inexperienced players on lately, not a bad thing, it would be nice to see this go on for the foreseeable future. Still have lots to do. On the other part of this 4 Page discussion is SCoRE. I recently got my private i24 OuroDev server running, went with their Self Installing Version, piece of Cake, then I logged in, wow, I mean wow. Pretty harsh without all the SCoRE installed improvements, Prestige Free Bases, Artificial Market Seeding, PTW, More Costume options, More Power sets and also all the adds that the Homecoming team have made. I'm spoiled I guess, but I appreciate what both groups have done to enhance and expand CoH, and didn't realize how much until logging into my own CoH server with all their hard work missing. I may have to wade through the i25 manual install after all.

Donate a slew of superpacks to @Dacy to give away for Halloween at her Witch's House, that might make a dent.

I have seen on here several times that the GeForce Experience, if installed can cause numerous problems for COH, the cure is to uninstall the GeForce Experience and then simply install the nVidia drivers for the Card or Cards. Might be worth a look, and may explain why your work-around works. Good Hunting.

Just confirmed that Homecoming WIKI is in fact up and running, however the link at the top of this page is broken and yields the " Page Not Found " error. If you go there directly it works fine. The address that works is below: https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Main_Page The Link at the top of the page is... https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki ...which is not working.

As Stated, the powers I listed accept NO sets, and only the enhancements I listed, and I listed Blessing of the Zepher for Lightning Reflexes as an example, it's knockback protection ( and a Universal Travel Enhancement, which this power will take Travel IOs, but not sets ), didn't disguise it at all and didn't intend any deception. It just seems weird that some Power Sets will have multiple powers that take no sets, then there are ones that every single power can ( cough! Invulnerability cough! ). Not Sure, @Glacier Peak, what you thought I was advocating but my comment was just regarding Powers that cannot use Enhancement sets, not looking for more Uber Overpowered Toons, or a new kind of Inspiration, or new Enhancement Sets even, just would like to be able to slot some powers with Sets that cannot have Sets now, mostly to cover holes like knockback, etc. Admittedly Kind of tired of the power creep myself, but knockback and Mez are annoying.

Have often thought it would be great if they could add enhancement sets that would work and give set bonuses to sets that only take specific enhancements. For instance: On Brutes, Fiery Aura: Fiery Embrace, Shield Defense: Active Defense, & Energy Aura: Entropic Aura & Energy Shield all only take Reduce Endurance/Attack Rate Enhancements. Also, Shield defense: Against All Odds only takes Reduce Endurance, Attack Rate and Taunt. No Sets. Electric Armor: Lightning Reflexes only takes Enhance Flight Speed or Enhance Run Speed, not Universal Travel or any sets. Not chasing after an Uber build or anything like that, but it would be nice to put a Blessing of the Zepher in Electric::LR, and have some options other than plain SOs or IOs in some of the rest.

They Call Me The Doctor does not update in Ouroboros after completion
Marine X replied to Rudra's topic in Bug Reports
You might try accepting the next mission from Gordon Stacy ( Revenant Hero Project ) before quitting Ouro, ( Task Force ), It is possible without the next mission Introduction Dialogue that it does not see it as totally complete as it is the intro to the Main Arc which is worth 27 Reward Merits. Otherwise I would say leave it be, you already have the badge, not much more to gain. -
Sorry to hear you are having a bad experience. Hopefully it was an isolated incident. My time here has shown me that while this is, on average, a much older community age wise, we can still sometimes descend into childish behavior. Don't take it to heart, this is a great community for the most part, you just experienced some of it's dark side, every group has that. Good Hunting out there.

Have you tried any of the options listed above in the post? If so, let us know which ones so we can narrow down the issue.

Very cool, although I sorta got lost for a while which can be a problem, fortunately it was an interesting LOST. Really Impressive, wouldn't even know where to start to build something like that, Thanks for sharing it.

Was in Terra Volta to get Badges, Plaques and work on Tankbuster for a while this morning. As I was almost done with a Crowd of Freakshow the sky turned Red and the Zombie Apocalypse began. Dark Guardsman is level 31, so against level 29 Freaks I was doing fine but running low on Endurance, as the Zombies began attacking and I couldn't rest I was in trouble, I decided to seek shelter to recover. I flew up onto the top of the War Wall and landed, the Zombies began spawning in mid air and falling to the ground, one after another till the event ended. I really couldn't stop chuckling at how Silly they looked falling out of the Sky. It's raining Zombies, lol.

There is quite a bit of info about Gaming Issues on Windows 11, but I've seen about nothing as far as fixes. Just do a google search and see if anything stands out as a possible fix. Wish I had more.

Indeed...thanks folks.

I seem to remember a similar discussion some time ago, and some Makeshift Lore that was presented. The White Plains Mall and Convention Center was located at coordinates are (2949.6, -18.5, -5637.6). Ouch. It is extremely Flat now. The Baumton Airport was North of the City, and south East of Croatoa. It was on the east side of the Zone and oriented so planes take off toward the Ocean. This is noted with an Icon on the city Map. Skyway Int Airport is also marked to be between Skyway City and Talos Island. Cats all evolved into higher lifeforms or Pocket D Regulars, or both, and spend the rest of their time at ICON. Dogs all became Monsters or Social Workers, with Most living life for Clandestine Meetings at the nearest Fire Hydrant.

Thinking it must be related to Patrol XP. Perhaps they are staying on Badge Hunting or on the Market more than you, so not earning as much Patrol XP. You could check the pips around the level wheel to see if you all have the same amount. From the WIKI: While logged out in any location, characters gain credit toward the Patroller or Criminal Day Jobs (versus other Day Job Badges requiring specific log out locations), and are considered to be On Patrol. While on patrol, characters accumulate credit toward Patrol Experience. Characters can gain credit toward Patrol XP and a true Day Job at the same time by logging out in another Day Job's specific location. Credit toward Patrol XP is displayed in the Status Window as a light blue extension off the end of the experience bar. For every 24 hours a character spends logged out, they accumulate 1 bar of Patrol XP, with a maximum of 10 bars. If a character has a number of Patrol XP bars that exceeds the number they need to level up, this extra experience carries over to their next Security/Threat Level. Patrol Experience is not consumed during Double XP Weekends except by debt, meaning a character cannot get Patrol + Double Experience. It still accumulates, though. Note: Colorblind players may have difficulty differentiating the XP, Patrol XP, and/or debt bar colors, as the hues are similar. Calculations Patrol XP is a bonus 50% experience for any critter defeats. While credit remains, any XP earned by a character due to defeating critters is multiplied by 150%, the extra 50% of which is deducted from Patrol XP accumulation. When all Patrol XP has been worked off, the character's rate of earning XP will return to normal. Patrol XP is not applied to the bonus XP gained from other sources such as mission completion, Story Arc/Task Force completion or Exploration Badges.

Reusing Old Systems: Paragon Points (No real money)
Marine X replied to Replacement's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
So if this angle has been discussed I apologize. Assuming that the "Paragon Points System" is still in place but just disabled from interacting with anything, how about a different use of the program. Points could be awarded Monthly to Active Accounts on a Character by Character basis with a reasonable Storage Limit. These Points could be, by the Player, converted to any other in game Currency at various Conversion Rates, ( Reward Merits, Empyrean Merits, Vanguard Merits, Astral Merits ), and then used as the player sees fit, consider it an Active Account Stipend. This would reward Players who actively play and perhaps help bolster our population to grow. Just a thought, but I plan to be here a while, and have plenty more itches to scratch in this game and anything that helps keep it healthy is a win for me.
