In Groups, As in most things, communicating is very Important. I kind of think a lot of it comes down to how things have changed in gaming since this game came out. There has been a steep decline in Team mechanics in MMOs in General, and an emphasis on Solo play. A PuG is a Pick up GROUP, emphasis on GROUP, it only really becomes a TEAM when the members are working together. I love to TEAM with other Players, and put all our skills toward a common goal and usually find things go very quickly, especially if we do a bunch of missions together, and everyone seems to get what they want. I guess if I'm the Tank/Brute, that's what I want, everybody to have a good time, feel important to the TEAM, and be able to contribute. A GROUP is just that, a collection of warm bodies, who may not even have the same goals, I prefer to play on a TEAM or SOLO, and honestly enjoy both.

How do you use 2XP boost from the P2W vendor?
Marine X replied to UltraAlt's topic in General Discussion
I chose "Other", The usual reason I use it is if a contact won't give me missions till I'm a certain level, and I really don't want to have to look for another. I'll grab a 2XP and street hunt till I can resume getting Missions. Usually I'll work on a Defeats Badge since they are many of those that don't just happen on their own ( CW Gears, Rikti Monkeys, Freak Tanks, Sky Raider Skiffs, Warwolves, Vampyri ) -
She is fine, she repeatedly attacked me in an AE farm the other Day.....nevermind.

Yup, that was the intent, I should have been clearer, sorry... I often see comments about running Mender Ramiel's arc to unlock the Alpha, which is no longer necessary, but I think it's worthwhile, a good story, and helps new Incarnates get familiar with their new toys origin.

Congratulations on your First 50! I would say at this point don't rush to do anything, take your time and finish up whatever Story Arcs you may have open, then get ready for the Dark Astoria Stories. I found them to be some of my favorites in the whole game. The Alpha slot opened and begin accumulating XP the minute you leveled up to 50, so your Alpha will be open soon. Then begin updating your enhancements and reading up on the Incarnate Slots, and the powers you can choose. Probably time for a trip to Icon though...lol. Good Hunting @wmtyrance.

This may be a stretch but try switching to Windowed Mode and see if the Cursor is visible, Then switch back and see if it remains visible. Also take a look at the Launcher Menu, I seem to recall an option to "load compatible cursors" or some such.

If this hasn't been resolved let us know. Also check out the link below to another post that may be helpful.

Haven't had an Energy Melee Character since just before it got NERFED on Live, Till I decided to make a Praetorian EM / Regen Brute ( alternate version of my Radiation Melee / Fire Armor Brutes "Sonny Burns and his twin brother Bubba Burns" ) called Battlestrike. Have him to almost 40 doing Mostly Praetorian content other than things that fit his Backstory. I am really happy with the set and the recent changes are taking a little adjustment, but I have to say I actually like this combo mechanic better than others I have tried out.

OpenGL Problem with Intel HD 630 - Guide Didn't Work
Marine X replied to Tailcoat's topic in Help & Support
Let's hope not, that was probably a really long week without City of Heroes, lol. -
Also some Zones have well known Invasion Locations. If the Invasion is on Talos Island, for instance, everyone knows where to gather, on the hill next to the Tram, Tunnel and Base Portal. Peregrine Island, typically at Portal Corp. Other zones, not so much, there is not always an Obvious gathering point, and that makes it a time sink searching the zones for where people have gathered, if they even have. Croatoa actually would be a good one because of the open space right behind the Tram. A lot of the zones have a spot that would work if there weren't Security Drones there. Have done a fair number of events in Kings Row as it has a decent spot or 2, like the fenced construction site. Good suggestions @Techwright.

OpenGL Problem with Intel HD 630 - Guide Didn't Work
Marine X replied to Tailcoat's topic in Help & Support
I found this while looking for similar issues: windows xp - OpenGL version still remains 1.1 - Stack Overflow "The problem was on motherboards integrated graphics. I just deleted the Nvidia Enhanced Display driver and the system started to use my GPU's openGL version" -
from @Grouchybeast regarding no launch/no update... " Same problem here, except that for a while even trying to update the beta client caused an instant crash of the launcher (I submitted a full crash report). I rebooted my computer, and I could then successfully update the beta client and subsequently the main client. " I'm assuming this is the Homecoming Launcher since he does not refer to Tequila but Launcher. Apparently for them updating the Beta Launcher then allowed Auto Update of HC Launcher.

My bad, I just assumed it was there but it's not. I've honestly never had any issues that a restart didn't take care of. According to Number Six the Launcher is self updating/self repairing, no manual update method installed at this time. Just the basics to check first: ( copied from an earlier topic ) Make sure the game is not installed to a System controlled folder (My Docs, Downloads, Program Files, etc) Best choice is something like C:\Games\City of Heroes The game is portable in that you can drag the whole folder to a new one, but make sure to correct your shortcuts if you do (desktop link, the MODs app if you're using it, etc) Whitelist the Game folder in your AV/Firewall Most know this by now, but people have said that some AV's definition updates are mucking things up.

If you click on the 3 little dots you can try Revalidating, I was able after the patch to get to login screen but when I tried to connect it booted me. When i closed and reopened the launcher it updated on it own.

The OpenGL serves the same purpose as DirectX does on newer games. I found this article from someone with the same graphics hardware, hope it gets you going. OpenGL Problem with Intel HD 630 - Guide Didn't Work
Marine X replied to Tailcoat's topic in Help & Support
Also take a look here, OpenGL is not automatically installed with Graphics driver but must be done to allow game to work. I am not positive what version of OpenGL CoH needs but I'm assuming if it works for your PC it will work. -
OpenGL Problem with Intel HD 630 - Guide Didn't Work

See if the info and link in this Post are of any help, It is the most recent that I can find. Pay special attention to 32 vs 64 bit. If possible it is recommended to use the new Homecoming Launcher as it is better supported here. -
In the main menu, go to Options, General and scroll down to Misc., and verify that "Tool Tips" is enabled. You can also adjust the delay before it appears.

I realize that, after reading through this thread the AMA descriptions got a very lackluster reception and that this would be a lot of work if only a few were even interested in seeing it as described. So why not PUNT? Instead of trying to complete development of an ARC we have limited info about, why not take the most important elements and start there. The biggest thing that we should have learned from the Rikti War is never fight a war on your own soil. Take the battle to your enemy. That could be achieved by having a team or league confront them off-planet. On the Moon or another planet, in a series of missions leading to a Taskforce to take them out. There are plenty of Mission Maps and Zone Assets ( Shadow Shard for example ) that could be modified to give us a non-City environment for the whole event, using Kallisti Wharf as the command Center and as the location of the Transportation Tech to get us there. This would eliminate a bunch of work on Zones and Factions that aren't part of the story. Keep the elements of the who and how to defeat them as something that is integral to the story as it unfolds. Any appearances of Battalion on Earth in Kallisti Wharf would be explainable as them tracing teams back from space to retaliate. Just my ideas on it, carve it up, lol.

My understanding is that there are various points of Exemplar at which they cease to work, it is listed in the Enhancement description. Some of mine are good down to the teens, others in the 20's, 50+ purple sets at 47. Others Vary, I made a second build using the lower sets for Flashback and Lower level Taskforces. This may be different when boosting, I don't as I would rather have Attuned.

All you need to do is go to the " Account Center " tab at the top row on this screen while logged into the forums, in that menu click " Game Account ", and then edit the password. If your account is associated with a different forum account you will need to have that info. If you have never played you could just create a new " Game "account based on the forum account you are currently using. Good Luck!
