  1. I wasn't actually involved in it other than seeing what was in broadcast. Obviously you've got a dog in this fight, but let's not start making things personal. IDK how I could have made it more clear that both sides were being obnoxious, and sorry but banning people just for being on a team whose leader you have an issue with...that's pretty poor "social skilling" right there. TL;DR: Behave like a reasonable human being.
  2. You must really hate comic books, because they've been using these exact tropes for decades.
  3. So I was hanging out in the RWZ doing the Vanguard Arc on a newer character, when I saw someone was starting a Mothership Raid. Almost immediately other people started shouting in chat that there was an "official" raid in another half hour or so...what proceeded to follow was a display some of the most ridiculous, childish, un-hero like behavior from people on both sides that I've seen in my time playing this game. From the dork claiming to be an "elite player because I admire elite players" or something to that effect, to the people on the MSR that were basically like "lol F*** off, Karens" Then the leader of the scheduled raid evidently banned everyone that joined the earlier raid from participating in the scheduled raid, whether they'd said anything out of the way or not (at least this was being reported by several people in /broadcast that were being ignored when trying to get on the next raid. Seriously, no one "owns" any zone or event, and the people that were attacking the players on the MSR, (many of whom I'd guess didn't know anything about the "official" MSR) should have just left them be. Not that the people attacking them back were any better. But then banning people from your "official" MSR just for being on the one that started early...just wow. Seriously? Honestly...people talk a lot of stuff about how great this community is...but sometimes all I see are a bunch of spoiled children.
  4. Except that those other servers also don't disable the extra costume pieces/vfx that get added when you modify the pets, so you build your thugs to look like cops...then they all get leather jackets and bandannas when you upgrade them. Or make your soldiers into aliens and then they all get army helmets. TBH other server's versions of pet customization that I've seen pretty much suck.
  5. Honestly. I've played probably thousand of missions, done every story arc in the game a dozen times, and not had the issues you're describing. Hell, I played when the clickies didn't hum, and they were always there, just damn hard to find. The only bug that regularly still happens is NPCs getting stuck in the geometry. Yes, sometimes it's a single mob on a "kill all" and it sucks if you don't have any non-targeted AOE's to kill them with. Amy still sometimes does this on the KHTF, and for some reason Sirocco gets stuck in the caves during the DA Incarnate Arc, even my Phantasm got stuck in the ground in the Hydra dimension the other day. Unfortunately I think this is an engine issue and really can't be fixed. But NPCs not spawning, glowies not being there...haven't had it happen, especially not in stuff added later, such as Praetoria, again with dozens of playthroughs. For glowies, turn up the sound effects, as for the rest, you can avoid a lot of the really bad missions by sticking with contacts that were added later in the game. If they look like they were made with the character creator, they're generally ok. If they look like melted wax dressed in shabby clothes, they generally should be avoided. You'll have to do Maria Jenkins and Tina McIntyre's arcs late game, bu they got redone later in the game's life and aren't as onerous as they were before.
  6. I don't see why this would be an issue. Just use the pet window for targeting. I never try to manually target or figure out what's going on with my pets by looking at them anyhow.
  7. I wish he had a gang-war like ability that would make everyone in the room rush you at once.
  8. They're subjective, so it really doesn't matter. I've won with costumes I thought were terrible, and lost with ones which IMO were better than any of the actual winners. But that's subjectivity for you.
  9. Monopoly is fun for the first little bit, but it's one of those games where it becomes painfully obvious who's going to win after a couple of trips around the board, and then it's becomes just an exercise in rolling the dice until the other players run out of money.
  10. At least one of these animations already exists in the game: Olympian 29, in the DA incarnate arc, shoots Beam Rifle's Cutting Beam through his eyes.
  11. It fucks the animations, although sometimes it's interesting when it does. There are servers that have broken just about everything, including the powers mentioned here, and allow other powers to be used while on these (as well as allowing them to be enhanced) I really think people asking for things like this (or freeform builds, or any number of other changes) should spend some time and level a character on one of the servers that have these options available. I think for most people, they'd realize they don't really want it after all.
  12. I cast Blade Barrier into the darkness! With my eyes!
  13. I want these animations added to AR and DP. So I can shoot bullets out of my eyes.
  14. Where did I say I just want "gimme" ? It isn't Gimme now, and the only thing I've said is that the existing content and sliders and player choice provide the ability for people to make it as difficult as they want for themselves? My position is simple: Leave the difficulty for existing content as-is and let people play in peace. Now then...why are you trying to make HC into Dark Souls? Why are you trying to force everyone into constant annoyance frustration?
  15. Play Energy Blast. It's funny knocking everything all the hell all over the place and watching the melees trying to chase them down. Plus you can fly around KR and shoot CoTs off the rooftops.
  16. Which means then HC qualifies. There are servers that don't...Cake Evolution will bump you to 50 and fill your trays with IOs if you ask a GM, but here you have to put in some amount of time to level the character and get the inf. So I guess you'd better head on over the CE server and tell them they're doing it wrong. I can give you their Discord if you like. I'm sure they'll be happy to hear from you.
  17. Really? It's not the fact that it's already 17 years old and looks it? Or that it doesn't have a full paid Dev team to regularly update and add content? Or that the MMO genre as a whole is pretty much old news? Or that it doesn't have a AAA movie or SP game license? Or that it was designed from the ground up to work with machines still running Windows 98 and using dialup and is never going to appeal to younger gamers? Or that the majority of the playerbase is probably at least 35+ and probably doesn't have a gigantic Twitch following to promote the game...(not that streaming HC is permitted by the devs even if that weren't the case) ? None of those are reasons it doesn't have a huge playerbase with new players arriving daily? It's because it's not challenging enough? Please. 🙄
  18. According to...? Why should the way YOU want to play cause the game to be changed for all of the other people playing. Turn off your XP, Turn your difficulty slider up, don't slot IOs, don't take incarnate powers. You can make the challenge be what you want...and if other people agree, you can all get together and play the same way. A sizable portion of the playerbase already chooses to avoid challenges. Either getting farmed or running council missions to 50...and they seem to be having the experience they want, because they keep at it. Just because I've never joined a farm or a +4/8 Council mission doesn't mean I should be able to force every other player to play through the content like I do. I have fun playing my way, they have fun playing theirs, and there's no reason for either of us to jam up the other's opera. Ass far as nonsense like longevity or health of the game...this a 17 year old zombie MMO with less than 3k player logging in regularly...during a pandemic, even. It's great that the devs are adding content and making QoL changes...but I would suggest gamers looking for challenge try out any of the literally thousands of games that have been released in the last 17 years. They'll find plenty of different types of challenges for all skill levels, all without disrupting people that are having fun playing their ancient MMO.
  19. Honestly, what I'd rather see is the AT fixed so that it isn't completely reliant on permadom just to be decently playable.
  20. How do those mobs function if say an ungrouped level 1 and level 50 are standing next to each other when they spawn, and then both characters start attacking the mob? does it take damage as if the level 1 were level 50? Or as if the level 50 were level 1?
  21. I've played traps to 50 a few times - Traps/Bots MM on live and BR/Traps Corr on HC. The only time I don't like playing it is on "Speed TFs" which I usually avoid anyways. There are some times that it isn't the best, but on missions where you're going to be standing in one place fighting for a while - lke at the end of certain TFs/SFs, it's really quite good.
  22. How exactly would that work when you have players level 1 - 50 in the zone? When player 1 starts fighting the mob it's level 1, but when a level 50 player gets nearby the mob suddenly turns level 50? Or if I'm level 10 fighting a mob and a level 1 player joins in it suddenly becomes level 1 and I obliterate it in one hit? WoW is doing open world scaling now, and it sucks. Pigs that you killed at level 5 are somehow just as difficult to kill when you're level 50. It makes no sense, removes any sense of progression from the game and is terrible. Having missions that lock to the level you are when you take them is one thing...you can still level up if they're too hard, but if they scaled...that purple EB would always be a purple EB. This is one of the reasons there are difficulty sliders and AVs were changed to EBs in solo missions. Honestly, there aren't many things I can think of that would be worse than adding in open world scaling to this game.
  23. Also there were Villain-exclusive costume pieces. I remember there was some command though that was unintentionally available to the players that let blue side have access to those costume pieces, though.
  24. In short, it doesn't matter if you have points into the alignment, other than at 10 points you can get a special mission to affirm that alignment, which will give you a special power (Or you can work towards another alignment) Easiest thing to do is read this: https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Alignment Should explain everything.
