  1. In short, it doesn't matter if you have points into the alignment, other than at 10 points you can get a special mission to affirm that alignment, which will give you a special power (Or you can work towards another alignment) Easiest thing to do is read this: https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Alignment Should explain everything.
  2. I don't think nerfing the entire playerbase to cater to the playstyle of a vocal minority is the best course. Adding in more incarnate level content would be great. Reducing the effectiveness of existing powers and builds (whether that be softcapping, incarnate powers, Blaster attacks, etc.) would displease more people than it would please.
  3. It was actually spelled "Cook's" electronics in the show, and its first appearance in the show was in 2003 during the first season - given that CoH didn't appear until 2004, it's far more likely that, rather than being a homage to CoH, they are both Homages to Fry's Electronics.
  4. If there were a detective team in DA, I think it should be Detectives McCohle and Hartson...Mot is a Flat Circle!
  5. One thing is that it isn't just changing the looks or allowing costumes to be applies to those characters. They'd also have to change any upgrade power to not add costume pieces to the character, like Thugs Jackets/Bandannas, Mercs helmets, Demon Falmes, etc. Of course some people would want to use the old models still, so now they'd have to make the upgrade costume pieces optional somehow. Also, a number of the sets - Beasts, Robots, Demons and maybe some other individual pets, the models are not standard player size and shape, which means they'd need not only an alternate set of upgrade visual indicators, but probably entirely new power and movement animations and base VFX as well. It seems like a nearly insurmountable amount of work for a small team to do in any kind of reasonable time frame.
  6. I don't think I have any individuals on ignore, but the first thing I do on every character is delete the "General" and "Help" channels from my chat. Other than those two channels, I haven't seen any particularly unpleasant behavior that would make me want to ignore someone.
  7. Honestly, if I had steady group with weekly meeting times, I'd probably do a Praetorian team for 1 - 20, followed by First Ward/Night Ward. With 2XP and adding in the blue side TFs, There's probably enough content for just that stuff to take you to the mid 30s Praetorian missions are a little harder, they were designed I think for vets that had already run the blue or red side stuff and were familiar enough with the game to need the extra challenge, but I don't think there's anything there that would give a premade team any significant trouble, but tbh a premade, organized team will most likely steamroll both redside and blueside unless you adjust the difficulty up a few notches. Alternately there are the contacts that were added in later in the game's life that have some good stories - Starting with Matthew Habashy at level 1, following his contact path, then doing Twinshot, Then Shauna Stockwell and Eagle Eye in Kings row, Do the revamped Faultline arcs, then Laura Lockheart and Grham easton in SC, then the 3 FBSA agents in Talos. With 2xp on you'd probably outlevel some of the early stuff, though, especially if you wanted to do the AP and KR safeguard missions. And even with 2 XP you'd still probably have to fill in with some other stuff like the Midnighter arcs once you got into your 20s.
  8. It's not just this, but both it and sprint override the "Superman" jumping animation from the steam jump pack, but only after a few seconds, so you go into the pose, then spaz right back out of it...looks really bad. Also if you have ninja run and slide on at the same time, your character will twitch between standing and Ninja Run poses. It's pretty obviously the new patch, but whatever the specifics, it looks really janky. If you do a tiny short forward or backward hop, it will still flip, but anything longer and it will start off in the correct pose, but again like with the jump pack it will spaz into the other animation. The powers seem to be working as intended, but it's like the game can't decide on which animation to use.
  9. Main thing I don't like is that the animations are all wonky with Power Slide and Ninja Run together...they're not even consistently wonky. My character will twitch in and out of their stance if standing still, and sometimes will do the flipping jumps and sometimes will do normal jumps under the same circumstances. It's really janky and takes the polish off of something that worked before in order to...what? Have the powers not stack? Feels very amateurish and untested for no real benefit.
  10. You'll get a number added to the end of your name and the ability to rename your character.
  11. Like the man said,"if you're bored then you're boring."
  12. Yeah, that may be true here. I've been branching out and playing more and more on other servers so I may be looking at things from a different perspective. I'm pretty much done with HC anyhow, TBH. I don't like how their vision has strayed so far from the original devs in some cases, while in others they've doubled down on Stupid Dev Tricks. They do seem to to play favorite with classes and who they choose to buff and nerf. yeah, I think I'm pretty much done here, and with HC. Peace.
  13. Except there's a whole thread going on as we speak about how support classes are useless on teams and in the high end game. Everyone's got their opinions, and in practical situations, the Brute is going to be the preferred choice, for the ability to tank at the highest levels of the game if nothing else. All the contrived "testing" situations don't mean a thing when it comes down to what's actually being asked for in teams in game. Or, to put it another way "mmkay"
  14. Under perfect test circumstances with the AT IOs this may be true. For all practical purposes running 8 man teams in the game, the brute is going to end up doing more damage overall, when considering all the factors such as the enemies being fought, not having optimal IO slotting, the mobs the scrapper does more damage on (Lts and bosses) getting melted away by the blasters before the scrapper even get near them. This is the whole reason TW is so popular, and so "out of balance" according to some. My point wasn't who does more damage one on one vs a pylon with poison trap on it. My point was that if given a choice, the Brute is always the better choice for a team. He'll have more survivability and do more damage under those circumstances. But yeah, if it's a Pylon fight, I'm sure scrappers are great. Also I was literally going to reply that Spidey beat up Firelord in response to your Hawkeye/Hulk post, but decided to let that one go by.
  15. I think after almost a decade in the grave, pirate servers run on donations and volunteer, part time developers that don't have the experience to untangle the original "spaghetti" code, and literally thousands of other things they could do that would improve the game for a broader group of people makes it objectively "too late" to update individual missions that aren't actually game breaking.
  16. You have no idea what you're talking about. Defense might be the same, they have both higher RES and Damage caps. They can out damage and out tank scrapers all day long. You should not be throwing noise like words.
  17. Have you actually played blasters at high levels on HC? Because I have multiple IO'd/Incarnate blasters, and they are NEVER in any danger of getting mezzed to death or one shotted. Their defense is so much offense that the enemy never has a chance to do any damage. My blasters can go toe to toe with anything in the game without ever being in danger of dying. Defenders aren't meant to be primary damage dealers. But they're amazing and vital on the hardest content in the game. Basically you're describing a godmode character - top tier damage, infinite survivability, high end buffs and debuffs. That isn't "balance".
  18. Scrappers are not alright. Why do you think so many are gravitation to TW? Because it's the only set that lets them be on a par with Brutes and Blaster. With the increased survivability of blasters, the higher caps on damage and res for Brutes, Scrapper sets being full of smashing/lethal and mostly ST damage, there's nothing about scrappers that puts them on a par in damage or survivability over those other ATs. People complain about support not being needed...except they still are in TFs/Trials anything with a hard target. Aside from current TW, there is no situation where it isn't better to have a brute or blaster than a scrapper.
  19. And then the Bandits can all be wearing Daedric armor. Cool. Seriously though, level scaling of the type used in Oblivion, which sounds like what you're describing here, is one of the most derided things in gaming. Getting more powerful shouldn't make random story arc #12 into the equivalent of the MLTF. Superheroes are supposed to be powerful, more powerful than the average and while they face enemies that are more powerful, that's when they get a team. What you're describing doesn't sound like fun at all.
  20. Yep, it's the early 00s forever in Paragon City.
  21. Fusionette: Oooh, Shiny!: Click, shows the location of every mob on the mission map, but adds "Defeat All" as a mission completion objective. I Got Caught...Again: Auto Power. Summons a temporary pet that attacks your target if you're mezzed and at 25% or less health. Suicide Run: Toggle. Melee Taunt aura. You can only use ranged attacks, Your range is reduced by 90%, every hit stacks +damage/-self Res. He's Got a Cool Jacket, Tho: Summons Jimmy, but he's Rooted and in Granite armor and can't move.
  22. Actually the only thing I ever remember worrying about in a Katie was whether or not Amy would get stuck while being escorted. Bad mission design = every single kidnap/escort mission in the game. With characters like Lady Grey, Fusionette and the General being suicidal causing a mission failure, Jimmy throwing on granite armor and becoming useless the rest of the mission, Amy getting stuck and then her spirit aggroing everything on the map, and the myriad of hostages and kidnapping victims that wont keep up. Hell, even in some of the last content they made, the DA incarnate stories, Spicolli will spend the entire mission stuck in a rock if you're not careful. The only one of these guys that has never given me an arse ache is Mr. Yin. That man can hustle, and knows how to get around the corner...and he's not even wearing any shoes! At least most combat NPCs can see through stealth, not totally invalidating the Stalker's playstyle on these missions. So I guess there's that.
  23. Walk this way....
  24. I don't like or participate in social media. That's it, and I think it's the only hting these says that can make you a "geek:" In a day and age where hot girls make millions cosplaying as Superheroes, dudes do the same streaming video games, and the Loser's Club (The real deal and the ST version) are cultural icons, liking comics, RPGs, video games, science, etc. doesn't make you a geek. The only people viewed as the kind of cultural outsider the traditional Geek once was are those that don't put their whole lives on display for the world to see.
