i totally agree the t9 "god powers" need an overhaul. How about the power gives what the set lacks. for example defense based sets get resists from the t9 (non perm) and the resist based sets get defense. I do like the invuln idea u had its weird there's no reflect powers in this mmo. I'm not complaining just an observation

uh.....wow. you got crazy defensive over a "joke" so i'm just gonna apologize for um pointing out the irony in your post i guess? anyway to answer your question. i have played Wow, Guild wars, neverwinter, terra, fiesta, aion, champions online, wildstar, dc universe online, aura kingdom, dragonball online, lineage, marvel heroes, Rose, skyforge, kdxy, and of course city of heroes and that's only the ones i played for a few months or longer. anyway, moving the subject back to the OP's original intent, @Eidolor thanks for the links i'm gonna check those out. I will post results if i can figure it out -

i vaguely remember that from the week i spent in CO. it was bad. wasn't there also like a -movement speed penalty as well? Uh if you need further rationalization um yur speedster isn't fast enough to run on water nor possesses the necessary density to push the water out of the way as they run on the ocean floor (instant water jet pack) lol. map would just be ruined galaxy city with everything having a greenish hue and random bubbles floating up with of course roaming mobs of seafolk. maybe even lusca can make a full appearance -

there are already stages that render certain travel powers useless. i am not saying they are fun or anything just saying this mechanic already exists in game. -
i think the proc's on IO's have their own separate FX. The FX on those procs is not adjustable by us players. I know what you are talking about i slotted devastation chance for hold on my water blaster and now my water blasts occasionally cages them electrically or the blistering cold proc freezes foes on my fire/fire brute. It seems a little odd at 1st but you do get used to it. There is always the option to not slot the proc. Again we players do not have the ability to change any proc powers look in any way so i don't know how giving up a no fx option would work. For now just trying to rationalize the procs effect in some way for example: On my water blaster imagine the water short circuits the foes tech and causes them be paralyzed for a few moments. On my fire/fire brute i imagine that my absorbed all the heat from a foe so quickly they freeze solid. I realize these arent really fixes, but do try an remember its a game. Nothing in life is perfect but city of heroes is probably as close to perfect as it gets. 🙂

hey um guys what about an underwater map? everyone gets fly, all other travel powers are disabled. for lores sake it could be a Poseidon slays Zeus and floods the ruined galaxy city. heroes and villians unite to um prevent the rest of the word from being underwater? Uh it sounded better in my head lol -

This is an interesting idea for increased difficulty. I do like and want a greater difficulty level. This would bring back the need for crowd control and various strategies and techniques that are rarely employed due to overpowered heroes steamrolling content. However I can see this creating a a caste-like system where elite players either cannot or will not interact with non diffusion dimension (newbs) players. While a good idea, i'm not sure how practical it is. for example: new type of respec, new enhancements and or possible sets and bonus' Is oro disabled? if not, whats its purpose if no arc is level locked? Street sweeping are all mobs now limitless? like GM's? (not powerful obviously, but it no longer matters what your actual level is) recoding of most mobs with new powers recoding team size This project would be an overwhelming amount of time effort and testing. It might be easier to just create a new shard with some of these settings. Call it the hardcore shard or something. I like this idea in theory i just don't know how viable its implementation is. -

hes asking for alternate animations for each power. For example, the foot stomp animation has a choice between a stomp and a ground punch. A few powers have such choices as long as the cast times match there should be no balance issue. Also i took the liberty of correcting the spelling in your response so that your rebuttal would be clear. -

i personally love the idea of alternate animations. I think the cast times would have to match for them to be viable. Otherwise this suggestion is fantastic. Make it so! -

i think someone earlier suggested a new weaponry power pool. this could work in there since most power pool attacks aren't very useful. Tree might look something like Blade (skins include everything from dagger to katana) attack does moderate lethal dot damage Gun (Skins include pistols or hand blasters) attack does moderate smashing/lethal damage knockdown Whip (how many whip skins exist?) attack does moderate fire damage that causes a minor fire dot. Knocks down immobilized/held enemies Ammo (includes 2 handed rifles/bows) attack does moderate smashing/lethal damage in a cone. 60% chance of knockback
