  1. I play DP on several toons. My favorite blaster pairing with it is DP/Devices with fold space. It goes in stealth lays some caltrops and a trip mine tps everyone in as I pop hail of bullets/bullet rain and does pretty decent damage. Then I reposition as necessary and reengage. Otherwise I've also paired it with DP/Ninja for a character with similar playstyle to Deadpool. I'm a big fan of /ninja as it has a lot of tools to work with. I have several DP pairings with Temporal as a corruptor for a time cop character and a TA/DP defender named Unlimited Ammo which that pairing is very satisfying to me and makes the most use of swap ammo where I'll stack them rounds with ice arrows and poison gas arrows for a lot of -damage. It's a huge form of damage mitigation. I'll then use incend for igniting oil slick. That toon is a force multiplier.
  2. I'd suggest running a Kheldian as a solo character. Given some of the posts I've seen from the OP I'd suggest a Peacebringer as that's easier to play than a Warshade. See this helpful guide if you are scratching your head wondering what's a Kheldian: I thoroughly enjoy both of these ATs despite the fact that they aren't the meta, they have an awesome design to them despite needing to work out a few issues.
  3. I have a character in BG3 that applies water on a hit, and has a reduced threshold needed for a critical. So I've inadvertently made a Moist Critical build without knowing who this guy is, because I'm old enough that I'd rather play a video game than watch others play them or talk about them.
  4. I absolutely love Necro/dark MM's. So much so that I made a second one last Halloween and gave it a similar build to my first. I'll often dual box them together and just have a beastly zombie horde where mobs have floored chance to hit and are in double tar patches while getting rushed by my swarm of zombies. Otherwise with costumes and back stories you can do anything. I have a SS/Dark Armor Brute that is a living manifestation of a person's worst nightmare.
  5. Personally I really like them because I'm a min maxer at heart. The issue with them that I have however is I have a 1 year old so I usually don't have the time to do them that often, basically if my daughter is asleep is my window to play and that gets eaten into by doing chores and such as well. I really like the ITF, but it gets overplayed as well. The ASF is pretty cool as it's ultimately a player made strike force after the game died and it's pretty decent overall. I do like running it as DSync IOs are pretty cool, and yeah you can hit the jackpot on some of them. I do enjoy the challenge of them and hope that other TFs/SFs get similar treatment, including lvl 50 hard mode versions of lower lvl TFs. That would want to ensure that any AT/powerset would be welcomed given design elements and that it's not just barrier cheese mode as I'm a big fan of taking things like ageless radial, or rebirth, or clarion radial as well. The advanced options for TFs don't often get used outside of the requirements for Master of runs, but I did have a blast with a group about a year ago running a classic Position TF via Ouroboros where we were under debuff, mobs were buffed, and our enhancements didn't do anything. Yes there were a ton of deaths, but we were laughing about guessing who would die next on discord. Good times. I also don't really care about PAPs either as I can make some pretty epic costumes already. That said I do think that higher difficulty content should have higher chances of IO/salvage drop and increased reward merits as that would give people a justified reason for doing harder content aside of just being gluttons for punishment.
  6. The nudity mod I remember a few old SG members talking about it back in like 2005. I always thought it was a lesser known about standalone mod. I don't recall seeing it integrated into vidiotmaps, but I tend to put clothes on my characters and don't need their ass checks flapping in the wind while they're fighting super villains, superheroes, monsters, criminals, police forces, or robots.
  7. If the OP wanted the game harder, a request that would accomplish that would be lowering defense/resistance caps across the board. That way instead of letting a toon bottom out a NPCs chance to hit to 5%, the NPC would have say a minimum of 15% chance to hit, and res caps get lowered by 10% across the board. I'm not saying to do that obviously, but that's how you make the game harder without having to scale higher difficulty levels. Removing agro limits would have the opposite effects as that would allow larger herds and simplify who to heal/buff. For that reason I'm not in support of the OP suggestion.
  8. I'm a big fan of sappers and have quite a few: Elec/kin corruptor Elec/cold troller Elec/poison troller Dark miasma/elec defender Rad/elec defender Elec/fire sentinel Elec/psi domi As others have said -end really shines with -recov. For that reason the elec/psi domi is really great at sapping. That said I find it fun to pair the sapping effect of elec with other types of debuffs as well. Elec/kin corruptors can be absolutely beastly. One of my fav def pair is my dark/elec def, that has hopped in as an emergency tank on some one-two star ASFs as that build has provoke. My rad/elec unused back on live for 1v1 pvp matches and would absolutely shred people not expecting to get debuffed out the ass.
  9. Hello again folks. This week the conversation segues to hard mode content. What has your experience been with running content at advanced difficulty levels (one star and up)? Do you think advanced difficulty causes imbalance regarding powersets/AT choices, if so why? How often do you utilize the extra difficulty features for TFs such as enhancements do nothing, enemies biffed, players debuffed, etc? Are there any TFs or trials that you would love to see get a hard mode option, if so which ones and why? What do you think about incarnate choices for hard mode content, is there enough need to promote incarnate diversity? As always thanks for playing.
  10. I can't wait for fry pan nunchukau. I shall make my new character Hitachi Hibachi. I hear it's coming soon.
  11. Also it's not just MM's as afk leeches. That's a common choice because their pets, but I've seen enough ranged ATs targeting through a door clicker with an taoe on auto that it becomes very obvious. I've led several of these leagues last year, and I have absolutely no qualms about lowbies coming along as long as they are actively working, and I have enough 50s to support their team. I do actively observe and boot people that are AFK as there's more often than not someone in broadcast looking to join. TLDR...can be summed up with a quote "I only have one rule, everybody fights, no one quits. If you don't do your job, I'll kill you myself. Welcome to the Roughnecks."
  12. The guild/SG I'm in is a MMO specific chapter of a larger guild that started back in EQ days. That said the chapter was one of the more well known SGs back during the live production era on our home server of Guardian and later Pinnacle. Homecoming our chapter settled on Everlasting and for awhile we had the band back together when nostalgia was still pretty fresh. We have a main SG base, and then have SG bases for sub teams within the main SG, and then individual members also often have their own SG/base for personal storage and because we don't have to grind prestige to build bases. So I personally have a couple characters tagged in the relevant SG, otherwise the bulk of my characters are stored in my own personal SG. This can cause a minor headache for coordination, but you can use base codes to enter any SG's base as necessary, create global chat channels for an SG, and use things like Discord for voice communication. I'll add people to my global friends list like some of my fellow SG members, but I can see who's online in our global chat channel, otherwise I'll have people I've met over the last four years that play similarly to me whether that's PvP, speed TFs, itrials, hard mode TFs, etc so I can arrange a group of people that I've personally vetted by playing with. Otherwise I'll often pug low level TFs and random content, but more often than not I've been recognized on Everlasting by other people I've ran previous content with, even if I'm on another toon as we all check each other's global when we chat. That fact that the OP plays on Everlasting, chances are I've ran a number of TFs with over the course of time, despite my thinly veiled separation of my forum handle and my in-game globals.
  13. Once we were given the opportunity to skip the first power in our secondaries, I did make a hide-less stalker for a gimmick it's somewhere in the 30's or so. Plays like a single target focused scrapper.
  14. Welcome back for week #46. This week I wanted to unofficially let everyone know that I've made the decision to step back from these posts after I hit #52. I figured a solid year of contribution is about my limit, so if anyone wants to continue after you'd have my support as I started these to continue on from the official weekly discussions after we lost two GMs that did them. That all said this week we look into how you choose to slot your powers. Whether you're content to use TO/DO/SO as you progress, or even if you jam as many IOs or special enhancements into your powers as you can it's all fair game. As a player how do you choose how you'd like to enhance your characters? Are you looking for a maximum damage, or maximum survivability? Are you looking to lean heavily into your powers secondary effects or endurance management? Do you have character concepts that cause you to limit your slotting choices? Do you slot out a character over time or do you hand the character the platinum card and send them on a shopping spree? Personally I like interesting power combos and interactions with their secondary effects, so I occasionally will go in with some odd slotting (especially if I've been drinking), such as an energy blast sentinel that uses KB enhancement sets instead of ranged damage sets, or occasionally neglecting to slot damage in favor of slotting debuffing tohit IOs on a dark blast blaster. Then again I have an alt named Mediocre Man that uses lvl 10 generic IOs and temp powers out of concept. Otherwise the vast majority of my characters I'm a min maxer at heart and like to design my characters to be very competitive (but more so in regards to my own internal competition against my other characters for what type of abuse they can take and what they can dish out). So how do you enhance your powers? As always thanks for playing.
  15. Regen's biggest issue has always been surviving the alpha hit. There was a point that if the first hit didn't kill you, then you didn't die. That's back when I was soloing mitos in the hami bowl as a spines/regen way back in the day. The sets been nerfed numerous times since then. Today I'd say it probably works best on a Sentinel as you're typically not the primary target, but it gives you enough health to keep you alive most of the time. A Brute works better than a Scrapper because it gets a higher health pool. When I build a regen toon today I like to ensure I have ample slow resistance, high recharge, and then some type of defense. The defense padding gets eaten by Def Debuffs, but when not being debuffs it helps lower the amount of incoming damage that you have to Regen. Regen is very clicky by nature in its current iteration so having high investment into recharge bonuses is very useful along with building decent slow resistance so that your click heals don't get recharge debuffed and your dying when you should be popping reconstruction. it can be played alright, but it's under tuned compared to other resistance/defensive sets. Willpower's RTTC can outshine regen with enough saturation and ends up getting more res/def.
  16. I really like Teleport as a travel power, but I'll bind it as a "powexec_location cursor teleport" that way when I hit the key I bind it to it will teleport me in the direction of my mouse cursor so I save myself the need of having an extra mouse click. Welcome back.
  17. At this point, I think I'm talking to myself and you and everyone else is a construct of my psychosis. But I've learned to roll with it, because who wants an orderly mind?
  18. leveling pacts were buggy, but as a carrot, they gave us the p2w double xp options.
  19. I know i'm a sucker for stats, and miss this kind of data. As I said before, I'd even be happy with a dataset dump and no need for fancy graphs.
  20. Officially in the game, a Force Field/Electrical Defender. multiple ball shaped force fields, ball lightning and short circuit looks like a half ball. Otherwise here's a short video from Pensacola beach yesterday and I admit these guys have bigger balls than I do, and I've been to war: Guys drag a 10-foot beached shark back into the ocean.
  21. I tend to hop on a lowbie or exempt down and help them with their missions or low level tfs. I try not to toss the kids in the deep end of the pool until their ready, as I'm not a fan of the random lvl 50 that has no clue what their doing or how to get anywhere. I'm not saying that's the best way to help, but I think it helps produce a more well rounded player.
  22. Welcome back folks for another weekly discussion. This week we shift into gear and open up a discussion regarding all the various travel powers in the game. Do you still take a travel power given the availability of temps? What travel powers are your favorite to use? Least favorite? Does zone design limit you from fully embracing a particular travel power? Do you view certain travel powers more useful for particular game content? Does the availability of certain powers within a travel pool affect your choice of travel power (ie. Hasten, Rune of Power, etc.)? Do you think there are reasonable enhancement choices for travel powers? What do you think about group based travel powers? If you could design a new travel power from the ground up, what would you make? As always thanks.
  23. For whatever reason the forum didn't let me use the....
  24. The following has potential spoilers, I don't know for sure if will come to pass: Deadpool 3 apparently involves the TVA including Mr. Paradox, Cable and multiple versions of Wolverine, which sets up Daniel Radcliffe as the a MCU version of Wolverine to replace Hugh Jackman, who's 55 years old. Apparently he's been on the Hugh Jackman Wolverine diet/workout plan and is absolutely shredded these days. It might be interesting to see how Harry Potter does in the role. He's not a stranger to franchises, or action movies, and he's only 5'5" so he's closer to Wolverine's comic book height of 5'3".
  25. I have a fire/poison corruptor that shreds AVs, and I play poison on multiple ATs. I think it's all about how you built it and manage the playstyle. It's absolutely meant to be played in melee range, and envenom/weaken get cast on multiple targets due to differing values for main target debuff and splash AoE debuffs (those values stack), also power boost. Poison also only requires say 4 powers and honestly doesn't need much for slotting allowing you to get tons of slots into your primaries. The biggest debate I see for a poison corruptor is whether to go for dark mastery for oppressive gloom and lots of souldrain or soul mastery for less souldrain but also power boost. I would likely absolutely take a clarion radial though on it.
