  1. I tried to suggest way back when that Acc/Recharge D-Syncs would of been better to have as its own D-Sync or even its own HO/SHO, as yes it being tied to a threat Dsync artificially drives the price of it up. Either that or let us convert D-Syncs. I do like the idea of a contagious taunt proc as well.
  2. I played around with a thugs/kin for a while on test using burnout double gangwar, and fulcrum shift. It was sheer chaos incarnate. That said mobs would die occasionally but it was pretty epic. I haven't made it on live personally, but I do have a well built robo/kin that works well enough. I could see a necro/kin being a nice third necro mm to my undead army (when I multibox Necro masterminds), but I really love pairing Necro with dark miasma, so three tar patches and darkest nights would be crazy in a fight too.
  3. We haven't got to that point yet. For now when the baby is home I'll play some bass and drum instrumentals.
  4. Take @Diantane with you folks for a Tanker Tuesday. That might be educational.
  5. Enjoy. More power to you if you get it to 50 before going through the portal to primal earth.
  6. I have a lower tech version for this. I mute my computer and crank up my stereo to things like AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin.....while as long as my wife and baby aren't home (then I'm just playing on mute).
  7. The big money comes when you start working the Auction House.
  8. -def on mobs in Hard Mode content as you ramp up to 4 star where all mobs have an extra 30% defense to everything. Most players won't be at 95% chance to hit in that content.
  9. Welcome back folks. Last week's discussion on melee seemed to get decent participation, so I wonder if this one can beat it? That's right we're talking ranged blasts. Feel free to discuss, compare, and contrast any blast sets in the game. Do you have a preferred blast set you enjoy? Is there one that you don't like? What do you find enjoyable about playing blast sets? Is there anything that holds you back from playing blast sets? Do you have any suggestions for blast weapons such as a a squirt gun or shoulder mounted miniguns? Do you have any interesting thoughts for a new blast powerset? Do you find ranged to be in a good place now or does it need tuning? As always thanks for playing.
  10. I have a lot of experience with Radiation Armor and here's my 2 cents, take it for what it's worth or don't as I don't have an epeen and at the end of the day it's your character.... Radiation Armor is a resistance based set with click powers for absorb, heals, and mini nukes. You do not have to build your tank to hit 90% for your resistances with just set bonuses. Might of the Tanker ATO proc is 6.7% to all per stack, it stacks up to 3 times. Depending on your power pick and slotting, relying on it to have 2 stacks is fairly reasonable. If you're willing to take Sorcery, you can use Melee Core Embodiment, RoP, and Meltdown as a rotation to basically cover about 18% resistance to all. So that means as long as you have access to your Hybrid you can basically build your character to utilize those three powers rotationally to get you to your resistance hardcaps. Doing this frees you to take say Ageless Radial for DDR and recharge. The recharge obviously will help you have Perma hasten fairly easily, and the DDR is invaluable as through slotting it's reasonable that you'll be able to get decent defenses (especially with storm kick) and protect yourself and your teammates from defense debuffs. Radiation Armor benefits tremendously from slotting winter's gift slow res, and winter IO sets to get your slow resistance up to 100%, so you're click buffs don't get debuffed. As Radiation Armor has Rad Therapy and Ground Zero that work really as mini nukes that helps supplement martial arts mediocre AoE game, and since they hit really hard when proc slotted, you'll kill lots of minions/lts with these which allows you to quickly dispatch them allowing you to maintain agro on more mobs (and ground zero has a 30 target cap to get you on the agro tables of lots of mobs). For patron powers I personally am a fan of soul for tankers as running tactics and having a kismet proc in the build usually get you a decent chunk of tohit to help your attacks accuracy. With soul you have darkest night which pulls in more agro, reduces mobs tohit and their damage output so that helps not just you but the whole team. And if you have room for Dark Obliteration, you can fit an annihilation proc in there giving you three -res proc opportunities. That all said there's tons of ways of getting to destination, you just have to find the route that works best for you.
  11. I solo'd an Elec armor/ice melee tanker from 1-50 Gold Side. I then went primal for incarnate stuff. For stuff from about 35-50 there's repeatable missions or you can run custom arcs in the AE or do a SBB.
  12. I like it better on a Defender to get better debuff values, although it does work well enough on Corruptors. As others have said there are some issues with some animations but it's fairly minor in nature. The set lends itself to some decent proc slotting options and you can fit all three -res procs into the set so that is helpful Here's the run...since rad blast's stock is -defense, if you're running with a group with high tohitbuff, it's possible to get to a point when the defense debuffs don't really help anymore as in you have a 95% chance to hit. Even con mobs like players will always have at least a 5% chance to dodge attacks. When you start pushing harder difficulty, and groups of mobs that have stacking defense, is when a rad blaster shines. Those moments when a Paragon Protector pops MoG or Nem Lts stacking Vengeance, or Cimeroreans stacking defense for example are the moments having radiation blast beneficial.
  13. Yes. Yes it is. So is making parlays on bets for some games. Then again we got asked not to bet on Little League games anymore.
  14. I agree, even though my previous reply was satirical, a line drive is definitely not a pitch. Makes me miss playing baseball. But I can always drink and complain about the Twins being barely above 500 but somehow on top of the AL Central.
  15. Little League is the jr. superhero sidekick of Major League. Little League has a nice 4 seam fastball and a his line drive, which the notes got it wrong he pops the ball up into the air and hits the ball as a line drive at his targets. He also has a sustain piwer called Big League Chew. Major League is like Little League but also can throw a Knuckleball and has Called Shot, where he can hit a ball into targeted areas of his enemies, so hopefully they are wearing cups. Additionally instead of Big League Chew, his sustain power is called Kodiak Wintergreen, it gives him more energy than Little League but has a minor self damage dot.
  16. I generally try to build my characters for greatness right off the bat. That said I'm more likely to boot up an old character and look at the build and figure that I must of respec'd the character while drunk, which happens from time to time. Occasionally I'll log into an old character and it fits like a glove and you end up missing it, like for instance I fired up a Warshade for the first time in 6 months, and I got that Ooop this thing looks so cool vibe (before the "this AT still need improvements that are outside of my contro"l vibe).
  17. Well Dark Armor is a great resistance based set, I do have to agree with the sentiment that dark armor would work better as a tanker or brute due to the resistance hardcaps being 90% as opposed to the scrapper's resistance hardcaps being 75%. That said Dark Armor using Oppressive Gloom and CoF paired with Dark Regen will likely keep you on your feet. As Dark Armor's heal is important, I'd suggest building in some degree of slow resistance, and some passive end recovery/end discount while chasing up your resistances. I'd probably also use melee core, barrier, and rune on rotation to ensure your resistances are capped. Broadsword is decent enough and has some decent hitting powers, katana flows pretty well, and titan weapons is pretty great once you get the momentum mechanic down. I have experience with all three (including a DA/Katana tanker). I also play DA as a scrapper with a RM/DA, and well fun, it's not as survivable by any means as a tanker or brute. However I'm not familiar with the base character.
  18. It is my hope for an eventual no fx option here. I love the rad armor set, but the fx auras can stifle some design options. From what I remember of Sakura, is that she was mainly there to dott over Sasuke, and help heal Naruto. After she hones her training under Tsunade, she is able to enhance her physical chakra to have effectively super strength. I don't recall her really healing herself much, but it's been years since I've seen it. I'm guessing that she probably could heal herself. That said Willpower/SS might work well enough for her although if you can get over the animations popping GZ every 25 or so seconds in-between burst from Rebirth still results in some decent healing.
  19. Radiation Armor/Super Strength with Sorcery for Spirit Ward with Rebirth Destiny sounds like combining heals with strength to me.
  20. If doing feral, I'd recommend something like combat teleport and macros to to you back to maximize your cones and then launch back in with feral charge and repeat.
  21. I'd recommend playing both on the test server. You can level up for free and get free IOs to slot your character and test how it performs. That way when you go to build it on the production servers you understand how the powers work and which ones you want. That said I still suggest using mids to plan out your character. At the end of the day just downloading someone else's build is ultimately playing a clone of their character. I'm of the mind set that it's much more valuable to teach people how to fish than give them a fish. That said if you throw something together that you want to try, and have tested the powers somewhat on test, I'm more than willing to give you slotting and theory crafting advice. Also since your freshly returned, there's a number of influence making guides on the forums, I'd suggest working on growing some wealth so you aren't necessarily limited due to cash flow. Personally if limited to a kin/rad or kin/beam, if look more at the rad because you have access to irradiate, and an atomic blast which work extremely well in melee which is how kinetics is designed to work. Beam I like pairing on a blaster with energy manipulation for boost range and playing like a sniper. But that's just me.
  22. I'd suggest downloading mids and trying to make a build to meet your goals and budget yourself first. After that you could post it here and we could look over it to see any reasonable tweaks that might get you more mileage out of it. Also I recommend defining your budget as 500 mil or so might not be that much to some players, but to others it's quite a bit.
  23. Personally for someone new to making builds, I suggest using mids at first and actually make yourself like 4 or 5 different builds for the toon your looking at building. Try different IO combinations, different slotting amounts. Get funky with it. The more you experiment the better you'll get at making builds. Some of us have been making builds for so long now it's like second nature, but even so, I might make a build different from say player B or Player C, but as long as you are meeting your build goals that's the important thing. Once you meet your build goals on multiple approaches, then you can really get down and dirty towards slot efficiency and that's where you'll grow quite a bit in skill.
  24. Elec/earth sounds like a potentially powerfully resilient dominator. You have Conductive Aura and your controls to sap mobs, and then also get mudpots to help keep them in melee paired with tremor and fissure procing FF procs to help with domination. And you have power boost to really sao things fast. Then you work things over with your gremlins and mallets like it owes you money.
  25. OMG. OMG. I've won the day. This is the greatest of all honors. I never thought this day would come, the day that @Diantane conditionally tells me I'm correct. I'm going to cherish this day for the rest of this bowel movement. Thank you so much. Going back all those years back to CoH's beta, I never would of imagined Diantane giving me such high praise. Its my greatest hope to learn the game from a true master like you Diantane. I may have to bring one of my 250 or so IO'd incarnates to be your sidekick so I can learn from your wisdom. Once again thank you.
