  1. Having it in tidal forces basically gives you a higher proc rate when you need it rather than it randomly firing off when you might not need it. A lot of people like to slot it in buildup/aim like powers for that reason. It can be slotted as such in tactics in the event you might not have access to a build up/aim like power. Then again it comes down to personal preference as well, because say if your on a Thugs MM running Perma Gangwar, in tactics it has a chance to proc from each pet in radius so you might see more use that way on pet based toons or on large teams/leagues.
  2. Given the SS/Rad powersets and a heavily IO'd and incarnate character I feel Brutes are going to be pound for pound better. Energy Melee works great on a tank. The increased arc and radius are more noticeable imo on EM than SS, mainly because of Power Crash. EM works well on any AT. Invuln/DM if well built would likely be more survivable than a Radiation/SS tanker numerically. You're looking at hitting several hardcaps for resistance, possibly some typed defense softcaps with some native DDR, and potentially the HP Cap. Adding in DM, you get THD which is essentially boosting your defense, a self heal, and potentially Perma Soul Drain. In play though from a skilled player with strong builds on both, you're most often not dying anyways so it comes down to theme and preference (I have both Radiation, Invuln, and honestly every other type of tank aside of Firey Aura at lvl 50 and IO'd and they all hold up pretty well.)
  3. I should have some time this weekend to check it out.
  4. Sorry for the Necro, but I can concur. Over in Iraq, the water contractor gave us pallets of old expired water that caused the water to taste awful (likely floating microscopic pieces of sunbaked plastic in the water), so grabbing an IV of Saline was the creme de la creme, or god forbid we got a care package of Gatorade. We had one guy get a couple of cases of Gatorade shipped in that was mixed with vodka. They bust him back to E1 and put him on shit burning detail for the length of his Article 15. Man that just had me thinking of 2-3 month old care packages of homemade cookies that were all congealed and melted today and moldy.
  5. A where's the beef t-shirt. Michael Jackson's Thriller costume. Mixing neon colors and punchy geometric shapes. High waisted spandex in like purple and red with a puffy wool sweater. Knee high white socks with banded color stripes at the top with short shorts. Parachute pants. Oversized blazers with shoulder pads. Pleather miniskirts. Fanny pack.
  6. The one time I was on a pug Synapse on Everlasting a few years ago with @Snarky, my rad/fa brute didn't leave enough time for him to click the quit button. So I can testify he doesn't always quit a pug.
  7. So I have been pondering radiation armor and super strength myself over the past day or so and decided to roll one for myself. However when looking at Tanker vs. Brute for this pairing I couldn't come up with a reason to roll it as a Tanker as Super Strength doesn't really benefit much from the wider AoE arcs and I was able to get my resistances hard capped or damn close on the Brute easily enough while achieving 100% slow res, and having enough CD to keep my clicks on a reasonable rotation. Tanker would make hitting hardcaps easier but ultimately would likely do less damage. I have several super strength characters and radiation armor characters built across each AT that can use the sets all at 50 incarnate and IO'd and I kept thinking Brute for the Rad/SS pairing. That said you brought up Rad/DM, and that happens to be one of my tanks, and it works out as a very resilient tank. If you are chasing defense on a Radiation armor character (and I'm not advocating that you do), you'll want to ensure you take Ageless Radial for some modicum of DDR.
  8. Welcome back to another week. This week we turn to animations, and primarily power animations. What are your favorite animations in the game? Why do you like them? What about your least favorite animations? Why don't you like them? Are there any powers with too short of an animation time? Or too long of an animation time? If you could design animations for the game what would you want to tackle, new animations for a potential new powerset or revamping some of the existing powers' animations? As always thanks.
  9. That's not always the case. I was raised to do nice things for women or I'd invoke the wraith of my mom's leather belt. To this day, I still hold the door for women, as you never know if my mom is hiding the bushes waiting to catch me. Given the urban dictionary definition example where the white knight jumps in after someone calls another person a douche rather then state a logical difference of opinion, well I guess I'll be your huckleberry too.
  10. As @Luminaramentioned it's a known bug. You can convert it to something else and then list it for a workaround in the meantime.
  11. Yeah total focus enters the state.
  12. It was released several pages ago as a revamp to energy melee. It creates a bit of synergy between several powers that build energy and those that spend it. For example in Energy Focus Energy Transfer hits really fast, Power Crash hits more targets. Barrage causes additional debuff and increased stun. I'd suggest rolling up an energy melee character and giving it a go, it's a fun set.
  13. How can you deal with the nomes without Belinda and her eggs, or the water of obliteration? I haven't checked your arc yet but will take a look at it when I get the chance. Hopefully this week Ozma will see me in her magic picture and use the magic belt to wish me to your arc. Lately I've been so busy I might as well be the Gump affixed over the fireplace, as I haven't been able to do much.
  14. I mained a PvP Empath for years. Occasionally I'd play with some RL friends in the same room. In my experience those blasters were the best support I could ask for. They always tossed me a cold beer as I finished one off, and they'd keep me on my toes when I was keeping them set with Fort/CM and kill stealing them. That said in PvE without support to feed you a beer buffet, anything that lays down heavy debuffs is one of my preferred ways of playing. Trick Arrow, Cold, Storm, etc.
  15. @nihiliigave you some pretty good insight on starting a decent marketeer run. I've done similar projects where I've taken a lvl 1 in atlas to Wentworth's and sat it there over a week or so until it was at the influence cap using only the inner inspiration power to start my nest egg. I personally wouldn't recommend marketing with a lvl 1 and inventory room becomes an issue, but with a little bit of effort, it's not difficult to make enough to fully fund a character.
  16. First off the Auction House is cross server so Excelsior/Everlasting/Indomitable/Torch/Etc. All the same pool. Secondly if the market is so flush with Enhancement Boosters that the price is falling, that means the supply is high. These boosters are created from super packs and reward merits so that requires players to create them. You're competing against everyone else selling and the non marketing players making their own. The demand for things like Enhancement Boosters is that they are optional for players using at least generic IOs. When players attune set IOs l, enhancement boosters lose demand. That said towards the end of a Page prior to an update I would imagine (and this is just speculation) that players are beginning to hoard their resources to prepare for the page 6 patch where people will look at building a Storm Blast character and respecing several others such as Assault Rifle. I imagine as usual, once the new page turns, demand on the market will temporarily climb. I would suggest diversifying your brokerage portfolio and not only sell boosters, but look at a broader spectrum of items on the market.
  17. No it's not. Certain zones like Atlas, Mercy, Pocket D, Ouros are coded to prevent a giant monster from spawning in due to mission complete. That said someone with elevated rights could spawn one in if that sort of thing was allowed.
  18. Recharge enchantments and global recharge bonuses do not increase the rate that pets can use their abilities. That recharge rate is fixed. They also don't benefit from the recharge rate aspects Aegis, Chronoshift, Accelerate Metabolism, Speed Boost, etc. That said some pet based powers it's still extremely beneficial to slot for recharge for things like Phantom Army, Gangwar, Soul Extraction to reduce the recharge in your casting of the power. Ie helps for chasing Perma.
  19. Okay I got you... Fire/Storm/Stone Controller with Jump Kick from Leaping and Kick/Cross Punch from Fighting. Sure it's not a spinning crescent kick, or a jumping axe kick, but it would help your role play if you want to have martial arts abilities as well.
  20. Here's how to have all four base elements... Defender or Corruptor - Storm Summoning/Seismic Blast with Flame Mastery Controller - Earth or Fire Control/Storm Summoning with either Fire Mastery or Stone Mastery. Blaster - potentially Storm Blast/Earth Manipulation and Flame Mastery Storm powersets have powers with both wind and water in them so that's a BOGO deal there.
  21. Guessing you are referring to HC's page 5, as Issue 5 came out over a decade ago. But then again you may have just had a really long break. Yes mids has been updated for page 5. Check this post: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/19963-mids-reborn-hero-designer/
  22. This week our conservation revolves around to temporary powers, whether they are based on a timer, or charge system (these can be from story arcs, purchased, or crafted but they expire). Purchasable powers that don't expire (Sands of Mu, Nemesis Staff, Black Wand, Hover Boards, etc.) don't count. That said a temporary version of a power that is permanent does count, a la the Sands of Mu, Nemesis Staff, Black Wand that do expire do count. Do you use make use of temporary powers? Do you have characters that stack as many temp powers as you can like a collection? If so how many is your record? Have you ever built a character based on the regular use of a temp power? If so which power and why was it necessary? What are your favorite temp powers, what are your least favorite temp powers? Are there any that you feel compelled to get on just about any character you play? Do you have characters that rely on temp powers for travel instead of selecting travel powers? Thanks again.
  23. My daughter just finished book 8 of L. Frank Baum's Oz books, she loves them. I could see film adaptations working, but it would be hard to break away from the Wizard of Oz mold successfully given the majority of the population hasn't even read any of the books.
  24. A fixed 30 sounds better than a 40, but maybe that's just me. It seems like an interesting compromise though.
  25. Kat works well on tankers. I run an Invuln/katana/soul tank myself. It works great with the recharge you'll need for Bio, so you can make ample use of soaring dragon and golden dragonfly. Flashing steel gets a huge cone, divine avalanche's melee/lethal can help you with building relevant defenses there. Stone melee though, between fault and tremor you'll proc a decent amount of FF, and they give a ton of added mitigation. I can see that being a very crunchy pairing as well.
