  1. I use converters to actually convert things as the return is actually better. Recently started having my Level 50s get the Banker Day Job badge for the 25% increase. I don't pound the market like I used to, but simply playing a Level 50 is pretty good low effort for earning extra currency. At one point my goal was a to make any character self-sufficient only to get tired of it when I had other characters sitting in the hundreds of millions, and they weren't even my main marketer, who was handing out billions to other characters. I have non farming builds who can solo at x8 and currently have at least one purple sitting and waiting to be crafted. My TL;DR guide to making money is T4 a build.
  2. I do a respec at 27 since the vast majority if not all of the non-Level 50 IOs can be slotted at that point. I use set IOs up to that point. Either the typical one offs or uncommons. Post respec, I can then go and dump the extras in my base for the next character who needs them. I just don't see the point of slotting SOs. I know they early on have better numbers, but they are a financial waste when I have uncommons I don't need to touch after slotting until I do a respec. Also, my soloing Gold side Brute has yet to fall at Level 24. On Live and early on HC, I used common IOs exclusively.
  3. Yeah, but we're just trolls who post on a forum for a dead game we don't play.
  4. What AT are you? I have two Scrapper SRs at 50, and working on a Brute SR as well. I also have a StJ/ea Stalker at 50. I see you are a Bute. I can give you a sample build hopefully soon enough.
  5. Crushing Uppercut. It is available at Level 26. I also won't 6-slot a T1 attack that early. I would invest more in other powers. An argument can be made to not even take Initial Strike. By 27 you have enough attacks to skip out on some.
  6. I slot 1-2 Acc depending if it is a ST or AoE attack, 1 End, 3 Damage, and possibly a Recharge in that order. SR literally gives you +20% Recharge. You're Level 27 and you don't have CU? WTF? There's also zero need to slot Brawl. To add, you get respects as you level. I have only used unslotters when I was already 50, and switching in a single set or 1-2 IOs.
  7. Shield is a 'S' tier armor set for a Tanker. Fire has the fastest clear times. And yes, I went Musculature. I honestly couldn't think of any other Alpha which did enough for me to pick it. The build is currently at T3. Enhancement side I will go back and tweak it some more before I call it good. I have a Shield/wm, and it just feels slow compared to the /fire, but that needs to be tweaked as well. My Dark/shield is one of my next two to get to T4.
  8. You were so toxic to two player bases you felt the need to leave both. This is what I like to call a 'You problem.'
  9. If you aren't willing to change your behavior, then you are wasting not only your time, but others. Also, you are going to make another account even when you are tapped out for making new characters? Some people really just don't know when to quit do they? Again, why are you here? If it's still fun, then you really should stop dumping on something you enjoy. LotR was never to my knowledge killed off. That's why it continues to get added expansions. CoH also gets added content or have you just simply ignored all of the Issues and Pages added from the HC team? It truly is amazing how bad you are at making your point.
  10. From ATs I have at 50. Defender: I somehow don't have one at 50 on HC, but I had numerous ones on Live. I'm likely most excited about getting my Cold/water to 50. On Live, I might say Rad/sonic. Controller: Ill/dark. Nuff said. There are others, and more so if you include ones from Live, but this is my 'holy grail' type of any map soloing on whatever diff setting I feel like. Live? Earth/storm or Ill/rad. Blaster: Water/temp. Only one I have at 50. I recently rolled a DP/ma and that's been fun. Scrapper: Dark and Claws paired with /sr and /shield. Tanker: Shield/fire. I wanted to min/max the defensive and offensive sides of things. It's funny it took me to so long to get a Tanker finally to 50, and yet I feel zero need to get another one to 50. Corruptor: Fire/dark. I need a build for it, but this is currently my only Level 50 Corr. I got a Fire/kin waiting in the wings. Dom: I never got one to 50. The most fun was a Plant/fire who died in a hardcore SG. Brute: Ice/stone, but my BA/stone is right there. I just need to T4 them, and see. I also have a Savage/sr I'm working on. Stalker: StJ/ea for nostalgia. Ice/stone for just how good it is. MM: Bots/traps. I have a love/hate relationship with the AT, but I have a soft spot for this combo. EATs: Fort. The versatility and getting a Top 3/Top 5 at worst name likely sealed the deal.
  11. I just logged on Excel which you play on. We are talking 3:43pm on a Monday. I saw four messages in LFG in 20 seconds. Have you tried not having the most popular server having you on their ignore list?
  12. IMO, the best armor for a Brute to farm is also the weakest for a Tanker to use outside of farming.
  13. My goal for Claws is having ST attack chain of FU + Slash + Focus and an AoE attack chain of FU + Spin + Shockwave. For DPS sake, people have added in Gloom. I one slot Strike.
  14. That's the default now. "Man, I keep thinking I should leave this place. I'm feeling tapped out. Anyway, here's why CoH sucks." Players love to not take the breaks they keep telling themselves they need to take. I've taken a couple long term breaks from HC.
  15. The genuine early players of HC where there before the game was out in the open again. In other words, those were not new players. Even after the reveal, the vast majority of those who came back were vets on the game. There's no real issue with them power leveling to 50. I bet many of them were just trying to get their favorites back to Level 50. Now, new players coming in and getting power leveled with them not knowing how to play is absolutely an issue. I've been on fair share of teams where a player of various higher level obviously didn't know how to play the game, and the team had to hold the player's hand. Do the early levels suck? Yes, but even soloing people often forget how quickly it is to leveling during that time. I'm currently perfectly happy soloing at +0x1 doing Gold at Level 24. I'm roughly getting a level from a four mission story arc, and those arcs are super quick to do.
  16. Here's a summary of just how asinine your post is. - CoH didn't have those numbers on Live at the end. - The game is 20 years old. - It was shutdown 12 years ago. - The current version known to the public has been running for 5 years, How dare a game like that can't simply draw the same numbers as a current GotY contender. Maybe you should compare it to other games in a similar situation. You could also show actual data of how the numbers have dropped off versus your gut feeling. In all honestly, I've never been so bored that I wasted time telling a player base how much their game sucks as much as you do. I've tapped out on numerous games. I've never then gone to the game's forum and posted a single negative post about the game. I simply left. At some point, you need to ask yourself WTF you are here. Either you stay and shut the hell up, or you just leave.
  17. I don't deny there being a transition period, but Spider-Man is still around. My wife and I babysit her nephew, and you better believe we are watching the new Spider-Man cartoon. Doom, for however that turns out to be, is coming. So is the Fantastic 4, and no, I'm not exactly excited by it as I think casting is a bit of a misfire. Daredevil is coming back, and lets just pray they don't screw that up because it is the rare thing I watched more than once. X-Men are here in mostly cartoon form, and that thing was fantastic although with the writer being done, we'll have to see. I fully expect more and more X-Men to start showing up. Arguably one of the most important castings might already be done in having X-23 take over as the new Wolverine as she did in the comic. If she on the level of Hugh Jackman? Hell no, But honestly, he nailed the character so well no one was going to fill that role unless a generational fit happened. They just need to nail Xavier and Magneto. I don't know how long Ruffalo wants to be Hulk, but he and Marvel absolutely want to do World War Hulk, and they have been working on getting the storyline there. There is no movie I want more. Honestly, I think going forward Marvel's biggest problem is that they have a 'other studio' problem where said studio is just going to put out steampile after steampile of content and then Marvel has to ignore or incorporate it into the MCU and pray people aren't simply worn out by it.
  18. For the record, you are including Captain America.
  19. Note, it takes your higher Def number for the actual Def against an attack, so, 40% Melee Def is 40% against all melee attacks regardless of the type, see T/P. If you have 35% S/L Def and 40% Melee Def, then a melee S/L attack is going against 40% versus 35%. In short, Positional Def armors based sets are easier to Def cap all damage types due to only needing top cap the three positions and get the highest DDR to keep those Def numbers up. The con is the lack of a heal. Type based armors are incredibly difficult to Def cap to all types of attacks and have less DDR. On the plus side, they get a heal, and likely more Res.
  20. I don't think I've entered one of the stores since Live.
  21. I would do this type of slotting only really with uncommons when leveling. I would do this since slots are limited, I don't care as much about their set bonuses, they are less likely to be impacted by ED in terms of values, and if they are low level enough sets, they might only have 3 pieces to them. I vastly use attuned versions of IOs so uncommon IOs which scale up to Level 40 are great ones to pop in early and just leave them for whenever you want to do an upgrade. Note, the more impactful set bonuses come as you slot more of the same set. Note, Def bonuses can be highly valued depending on what a person is going for. I self PLed two characters to Level 50 with Level 25 common IOs. Once I switched to even a budget build and ran it, it was "Oh, so that's what this is like." I can't recall if I flipped from +0 or +1, but I know I was suddenly doing +3 after the switch.
  22. How many aspects are boosted. A dual Level 50 set totals at 53%. That means each aspect, ie Damage and Recharge, are boosted by 26.5%. For a triple set Level 50, that means 63.60% boosts Acc, Damage, Recharge by 21.2% each. If you slot both of them, you are now getting 21.2% Acc and 47.7% Damage and Recharge. Compare that to a Level IO single where those two slots give you 42.4% in Damage and Recharge and no two set bonus.
  23. I didn't take Dominate on my EA. I don't really proc bomb on builds. Plus, I'm not really seeing slots for it. I 4-slotted Mind Probe as is. Granted, I just looked at my build and saw where I should add in a few procs. Note, I went Fire/ea. I skipped adding an Epic for my Ice/sr simply due to wanting RoP instead. Initial test on Beta made me roll that version onto an active server.
