I blame not playing the set in a decade plus. I also swore it had Fireball before looking at it today. Damage auras have long DoT times on them so maybe Combustion's long DoT also led me to think it was a damage aura as well.

This reminds me. I was in a mission on the BM map. We completed it. A few of us were grabbing some extra mobs. The leader mentions respectfully leaving the mission. The very next mission gets completed. We all leave except for the leader. The leader stays and the team slowly disbands. I leave as one of the last few. I play nice and didn't use the obvious comeback, but man I did want to.

Who plays CoX in the most unusual way?

Level 40-50 content is more interesting to see when it is done in smaller teams or more so solo. Getting on a PuG to plow through radios at +4/x8 is absolutely not interesting. -
I think I could only really look at underperforming sets versus the best ones. I think AR and Archery are lacking due to damage type. Electric Blast is a bit lacking in terms of useful debuff paired with lesser damage. +4 AVs can shrug off a number of debuffs, but end drain is essentially worthless against them. For an Emp, SC is a PBAoE with a long animation.

Can't stand thread hoppers. Doesn't matter what forum they go in, general or ones for ATs. They just go in, post a complaint, and soon as they hit that Submit button they are gone. I usually put them on ignore. They probably don't even know why as they never respond even when getting asked questions. Is there some sort of troll badge the forum offers? Who knows. It makes no sense.

Fire will be a staple as you can proc out the damage aura. Another vote for /rad as you can slot in -res due to the -def debuff and Atom Smasher does a bunch of damage.

Upgrading SO's 1-50: Ballpark cost?
Without_Pause replied to GATE-keeper's topic in General Discussion
Well, I use converters to do actual converting, so I wasn't even thinking of that aspect. I mean, why get 70K when you can get millions with a bit of leg work? -
Dark melee with Elec armor or a defense based one. I like EA and its defenses are done by 20/28 depending on how much you think of healing as a defense. You'll already have the heal from the primary by then as well. Rad melee will offer much more AoE although the heal is more infrequent. I like not love Savage. ST damage could be better. Its damage type is also highly resisted. I have no good defense for my I would pick one versus the other, but I did go Stalker over a Scrapper when deciding on a Dark/ea. I absolutely get why people would go Scrapper instead.

13 million as a level 50 doing Synapse? That doesn't sound right for someone still leveling or at level 50. -
Fixed it.

Not much really. I think I liked Time's End of Time and Time Lord better than what was being offered in /ice. While I accept Ice Patch being a good power and another way for KU, but you have to be in melee and the patch size is on the small side, IIRC. It is certainly better if you solo more. I really do like /ice though.

Upgrading SO's 1-50: Ballpark cost?

I just checked. I don't think there is a level 25 common IO which can't be had for 50K or under. Some easily under that, lets say 15k. This says nothing of having the crafting badge for that level so all you need is 2 common salvage and the reduced cost of crafting. -

Upgrading SO's 1-50: Ballpark cost?

There was a time when I didn't touch slotting until level 22. I still tend to do that when I'm uncertain how much I like a build. Now that I have a built up supply of currency and attuned IOs, I can slot starting at level 7 in some cases. I might slot some lesser IOs(common, uncommon) until I hit 27 so I can slot level 30 IOs from certain sets as those are more likely to end up in my final build. If I was starting over, building up a stash of attuned IOs would be goal #1. An anyone can do starter kit to get a few million going. 1. Do the tutorial in the game. 2. Keep the inspirs. 3. Once you leave the tutorial, use /ah in chat to open the auction house. Sell the inspirs. 5. Find common salvage in the auction house and put as many stacks of bids as you can for say 100 currency. 6. Sell the ones you get to the vendor for 250. Rinse, repeat. 7. Eventually move to level 50 common IO recipes and sell those. What happens after that is up to you. I need less than a mill to mimic what I do now. 8. Add in doing content arcs and TFs to gain merits. Outside of the merits, TFs drop better recipes as a reward. 9. Grab the Inner Inspiration power from the P2W. Every 20 minutes you get three free inspirs. Sell or use the better ones. 10. If you are really that hard up for currency, skip the 2x booster. Leveling twice as fast with getting even less funds isn't what you are looking for. Hell, I know how to use the market, and I don't grab the 2x booster as I find the leveling process more enjoyable. I find builds which I got to 50 using 2x boosters need more time for me to feel them out. Bonus. Keep playing your level 50s. No character has better access to gaining currency than a level 50. A single night of gaming can get you more than what you gained in repeating steps 1-7. -
I've gotten rezzed by more teammates than I have ever used awakens.

Depending on the IO, even uncommons can be had for cheap. If one skips out on the ATOs and certain one offs, the difference between SOs and uncommons really isn't that wide. A support AT could be done on the cheap since they are avoiding thing like defense and resists sets. -
I loved my Water/ice and got in the 20-30 range. I think 30+, but once I rolled Water/temp, that's what hit 50.

I should clarify as reading what I wrote wasn't clear to me based on the quote. I mean I don't find the -res aspect to Sonic being that limiting in terms of slotting and procs compared to other side effects. If you can proc damage and a -res, then you are more looking at what damage types you can proc.
-
I haven't IOed out a blaster so I wasn't sure. If not, then that just means Sonic isn't impacted that much by -res being it's side effect.
-
Ranged and Ranged AoE attacks get a decent amount of proc options, even -res for Ranged AoE. Add in two attacks getting ATOs unless you put them in your secondary and you might not need as many as one think or it being that big of a deal. Beam absolutely does wonders on hard targets such as AVs, but there's zero chance it competes with Fire when it comes to AoEs. Beam's AoEs get good if you get the trigger to go off and that's less likely for teams which move quick.

Since I have them on ignore, this thread now makes more sense.
