  1. Yeah, it can still be used, but it took longer to T3 than I had wanted. I just have to make sure when I make the pathway to T4 I don't do it the normal way. This says nothing about doing one Incarnate to whatever level only to decide you want to change it to something else and you are, as an example, on the verge of being able to T4 the incorrect one. Nope, never did that before. *cough*
  2. I'm talking about the T level component or whatever you want to call it.
  3. *sigh* I wish there was a way to side grade them, or break them down.
  4. The market has been known to listed things which don't exists. This has been a way for people with an a bunch of currency to put bids on said items. as I way to store currency. Of course, there is that moment when those things are suddenly in the game, and yes, it has happened.
  5. If not Rad/fire, my guess would be Rad/bio.
  6. This has been so horrendously derailed I'm borderline wanting to ask for it to get locked but there is the occasional decent piece of data. I do know Dark has never really been known for excelling at ST damage as it is more known for its utility. There were buzzsaw builds back in the day. I even was running a Dark/elec brute. Dark got reworked so it was harder to pull off and Siphon Life can cut into the DPS. Pylon tests while interesting, are pretty much the direct opposite of what happens in game. If Voltak is hellbent on verifying things with personal experience there's an easy way to do that. Grab /dark, /fire, /em, and /earth sets. Pimp them out and then run the pylon test and see who has the best time. There's even a test server for this. Until then, this is nothing more than a meandering internet pissing contest.
  7. Add in a bit of ignorance as well as they complained about people killing the anchor of a Rad debuff.
  8. As I've said on here before, I've teamed with them. Talking points they have had here were discussed in game. If they are a troll, they are going all-in.
  9. Water or Dark work best as they can play well at range although Cold doesn't need to and they offer a heal which Cold lacks. Rad can debuff def and use the -res proc. Sonic has -res. Beam can be great against AVs as well. Its side effect does take some setting up which can be annoying on faster teams. Those would be the main ones I would look at. Fire and Ice work, but due to Scourge they work far better on a Corr.
  10. It can be helpful for primaries which are lacking in AoE.
  11. Former devs needed to be involved since code was taken. Organized in the sense they got their stuff out first. Again, being first is a huge advantage, but that doesn't need to be the only way to determine who wins out. If your product is better, then people will go there. Being good isn't being better. My point remains that people who work on those projects could come to HC and make HC better. I looked at a list of other servers and many of them don't have a functioning website and the article was from last year. There are servers for EU and RP players. HC has those, but now imagine if those teams came here and worked on those servers specifically. FYI, I work in software development. I get doing your own thing even if it is on a smaller level versus going to work for the big named company, but this is a pirated software we are talking about. Make the best product you can while you can and pass the drinks around when its over. I don't expect HC will ever be made official. The only way for that to happen would be more people coming here and developing the game and being official would still be a low maybe. You are happy with the many flavors of CoH. I would rather see HC's team double in size as an example and put out twice the content.
  12. FYI, I got a En/en blaster to 41 on live with common IOs and playing hardcore. He survived his fair share of near complete team wipes as well. Playing a blaster without restrictions on HC is near cheat mode.
  13. To my knowledge HC is the ones with the most influence from actual CoH devs as well. HC has been the most organized of the bunch and have reaped the rewards of it. I honestly wonder if Rebirth or others have even attempted to become official versions like HC has because if not, then I stick by my comment of not being competition. It doesn't matter who came first or not. It is more about doing a good enough job to where your own numbers grow. Again, using CoH successors, City of Titans was to be the most faithful and own player base created one, and yet Ship of Heroes is the one I would put the most money on. It helps that's an actual game development company, but still. People will follow if you do good work. People aren't flocking to Rebirth. An article from April giving no reference to when the writer checked, said there were 25 playing at the time they looked. If it was 100 now, it would feel like they were building something, but they aren't.
  14. I haven't really looked at if the Corr or Defender version is "better" or if I even care, but +1 to pairing it with Time as I have enjoyed playing my Time/dp Defender.
  15. There's a difference between running and being competition. I could run a server. It doesn't mean it would be competition. Lets not forget the number of spiritual successors to CoH which got announced and how many look to have panned out.
  16. At some point the people on other servers are going to have to accept coming over to HC and helping out here is far more beneficial for COH in the end.
  17. Loose lips on a pirate server, Why I...
  18. It just depends on how much of an NDA there is for closed beta.
  19. This has already been talked about twice 3-4 pages back. A Sent(inherit) rework is my best and safest pick until it happens since it needs to happen and has been debated on here quite well. I would love to see, but guessing these are low on the totem pole. Mind Control: Rename TK to Mind Warp and make it an AoE disorient. TK is NOT mind control. Savage: Make Hemo worth taking. Its lackluster ST damage is unacceptable for a T8 and routinely skipped by players. More ATOs. Defenders get bonuses to healing because that meme can't die soon enough. How about making buffs/debuffs better, mez protection, etc? Psionic Melee: Make Insight fun.
  20. I believe it was. To the OP, fully slotted ATOs can cost you up to 96 mill on the high end. Are those okay to be included? FYI, I'm talking the basic ones. You can make them Superior once you hit 50. What I have been doing on characters as I level them is slot as normal for how I would do a common IO build, and then seek out uncommon sets as replacements. There are certain rare IOs I will see out, but that's about it for high end cost outside of the ATOs. I think those builds fall in the line of 200 mil. To me that's about where your budget lies. Note, this is a recent change because my default has always to level on SOs/common IOs. If a build can make it to 50, then I debate investing into it. About half of my 50s have switched over to IO sets currently.
  21. Off the top of my head I would say it should be an easy conversion. The difference in ATOs is down to one slot and its impact.
  22. Wind was at least in the works and for a secondary they could do a reworking of KM as that has some ranged and melee attacks already.
  23. It has nothing to do with the numbers. As long as you have a def debuff and can slot for it, you can slot the -res proc into it. You ideally want it in Irradiate.
  24. It would be helpful posting what you have now.
  25. There are a number of sets which stack on additional things for a powerset. Sometimes it is stacked, comboed, etc. Here's the problem I am seeing with Insight. 1. It feels random when it triggers. I have done attacks chains, or even cleared a mob without getting it or at best it kicks in on the next to last attack. 2. The player can be locked out from gaining Insight. Not that this is unique as Savage does it similar in that regard. At least with Savage there is a clear pathway to building it back up and there is even Blood Lust to pop it back to max. Here, you can be locked out and not know when you are getting it back. Ultimately this is about a set's feel. I can plan out and get a feel for a number sets because I as a player feel like I have control over the situation. I can figure out how I want to use my attacks in the best and most efficient way. With Psionic? It's just attack stuff and maybe it works out. Odds are you will overkill things at random times. Solutions: 1. Have Concentration give Insight. Why oh why was this not the default? One would think you would have insight after concentrating on the battle. 2. Concentration/Insight is a toggle similar to DP or Staff. I'm fine with it using end. 3. Concentration/Insight is similar to Rage in that it is a long term buff. 4. Concentration/Insight is similar to Power Siphon. The more one concentrates, the more of a benefit there is to Insight. Pretty much at this point any working of it would make the set feel better, but I would lean on item 1 or 2 with maybe 2 being the best. I'm still leveling. Things might change, but right now Psionic Melee doesn't feel smooth at all. Even if it is balanced partly with how it is or isn't resisted, it does not feel fun currently. It feels clunky. EDIT: With added info below about Boggle, I would shorten the animation and make the Boggle AoE flagged with the Confuse ST.
