  1. I would really like this, but it's probably more trouble than it's worth for the homecoming team.
  2. I don't understand this confounding conceptual conversation. Regeneration = you get more health. You heal/regenerate, I'm confused as to any argument here. Someone mentioned how invulnerability doesn't literally make you invulnerable; of course not. That wouldn't make sense in a game. It was clearly meant to give off the idea of being invulnerable though within the limitations of the game balance. Absorb was a newer mechanic that A LOT of powers would have used if it existed during the beginning, but it didn't. You can fashion absorb to act as healing, regen or even resistance if your creative with power descriptions, but each power has it's focus that effects will clearly stem from. The stats were designed with this in mind. Impartial to this thread, I don't understand how Willpower is fulfilling the idea of regenerating more than the set that focuses on getting health back up @Leogunner. Perhaps I am missing your point.
  3. I think this is really weird because I was just about to suggest this as an obvious joke thread. I vote yes.
  4. Lol we can agree to disagree there; even a matter such as this difference would ultimately be considered majority vs minority. A few more of people in your mindset could tip the scales to your favor, and I in the minority would see changes based on your preference. It's the same principle, but I don't mind if you don't see it that way.
  5. I think that's pretty simple. People might have different findings. Certain data charts might have different considerations, or suggest underperformance in one situation where it would flourish in another. Sides would be considered, and at the end a democratic deliberation would take place which may result in a great majority. And, the devs would have true final say once all the commotion brings it to their attention.
  6. In that case, we are of a similar mind. I don't think any of us here really disagree with that assessment either, so it was likely just a large misunderstanding. I could be wrong though.
  7. I agree. I think regardless of the majority or minority opinion, if someone can bring evidence to the table the matter should be considered. And it shouldn't be immediately confirmed or declined based off majority opinion either. But because everyones opinion does matter, the amount of people in favor is significant too. A fine balance ultimately determined by the developers. I believe here we were simply discussing which of those leanings would be ideal for permitting the cottaging.
  8. I would also like to note that you just accused Super of giving their own opinion too much weight, yet you are now speaking very dogmatically. Everyone wants their opinion to be heard; that's why we have these forums to begin with. Efficacy is ever-desired. You're sitting on the other side of the extreme, where you are obsessed with data and numbers and another might be obsessed with popular opinion. I think it's important to hear everyone out, and discuss why or why not you think changes should be made to the current meta and or paradigm. And let me introduce you to a fallacy. Argument from Fallacy. You really need to stop highlighting all these fallacies as if it immediately invalidates that person in questions opinion, because it doesn't. It would be better of you to just ask them to articulate their argument in a way thay you better understand.
  9. I hate to insert myself, but your misunderstanding seems to be digressing the overlying point of this thread. It's really clear to me anyway that Super Atom is not presuming to speak for the community, and was instead positing an instance where complete community concurrence would warrant a change to a function of the game, as part of their argument. Atom just thinks that if everyone agrees to something game related, then that should happen. Whether or not you are of the belief player understanding of such matters should be the ultimate council and last word is another matter.
  10. This seems rather silly; you are pretty much saying you don't like having multiple options that are useful enough that you have to decide between them. That's just indecisiveness, it doesn't hamper or remove an open build.
  11. I was disagreeing with the idea that there should be throw away powers.
  12. I disagree. I think every ability should have a purpose for a certain circumstance. The reason some abilities would end up as skippables would simply be that the circumstance of which you would use said ability is very specific, ordinarily impractical, or just not what you are personally going for. The other possibility is simply that a stronger version that does the same thing comes around later on, and you decide you only want the stronger version rather than both.
  13. I actually really enjoy the animations and changes from upgrading pets. Feels like I'm the kingpin supplying the goods, or the master binding them to me. Can't get behind this one, not that inconvenient.
  14. There is, but as you cannot obtain the associated salvages, it's useless.
  15. @Super Atom I am also curious.
  16. I really want SM for scrappers. A lot. I don't even really care if its reworked or balanced or what not, I've wanted it for years and wouldn't mind a direct port from Brute/tank to scrappers. Same with superstrength even with the rage issues.
  17. Please read my post earlier in this thread. This is really a non-argument, it kind of feels like you are missing the essence of a game itself. Just because you CAN make things arbitrarily and needlessly difficult for yourself is not in anyway a testament to the difficulty Of The Game. The difficulty of the game is a reference to the progression and experience of the play; is it easy to get rewards, are there obstacles. A Challenge Mode is a completely separate feature meant to cater to individuals who are already powerful or skilled and want to attempt something that would be considered impossible or extremely difficult simply for the fun of doing that In. Of. Its. Self. Rewards ignored. It is additional, and the option is by no means evidence of the overall ardor of the game experience. Please stop suggesting things of this nature. Suggesting that the OP and his sympathizers are simply hounding for a vainglorious vision of their own superiority as compared to those that don't run difficult content is also just a baseless accusation, and doesnt even make sense. How would the options for harder gameplay affect any dynamic here? It seems it would just be endgame content; those at the endgame are pretty objectively stronger than those that aren't already. You also just said that these "sort of players" just want to do slightly hard things so they can do what the people beneath them can't, despite the fact changes like the one this thread advocate for would affect all content including that type of upper-mid challenge and make it more difficult too. By your logic, they wouldn't even be able to flaunt anymore. The OP thinks that in this state, the game is less fun because no one really needs (within context of progression and reward) anyone else. He believes that in the instances you do work together, the collaboration of uber gods renders all threats null. You need to see where he is coming from before disparaging, or else compromise never occurs.
  18. Oh I completely missed if he said that, that would be a no no.
  19. People should consider what the OP says more sincerely, and then either agree to disagree or simply explain that it doesn't matter to them personally. You won't get anywhere with this side of the community by dismissing them without understanding them. Every single argument of "you aren't playing for challenge" is silly, and is boiled down to promoting arbitrary limitations so that you can simulate difficulty. Guys, that isn't resolving the problem for any of the people that make this complaint, and I seriously can't comprehend why any of you think the equivalent of "if you think the race track is too easy, let yourself get fat" would be satisfying to the adverse argument here. You can't just say "don't make yourself powerful, stop using IOs". Be ashamed if you are /jrangering this! The game is 100% extremely easy. This cannot be denied, and makes his concerns legitimate. However, I am apart of the faction that doesn't mind at all, and likes being overwhelmingly powerful. But this +8 (actually +6) idea would be an easy remedy to be applied to end game content. I recently exemplared a fully IOd incarnate scrapper to 48 and began fighting level 54s in dark astoria. THAT was a magnificent challenge! I still felt powerful, but the enemies were a definite threat. I could see the option for this providing happiness for both sides, and also making it automatic for level 50 task forces and incarnate trials. Despite liking power, I at the very least can grasp the desire to have the trials be an undertaking.
  20. Very awesome! I don't see that mastermind primary Life Drain is accepting accurate to hit debuffs though.
  21. Wait what is this about the relationship between res and damage and why?
  22. Well, if you're gonna say that about incarnate, you can say that about literally any aspect of the game. It was meant to be the next step post 50 to make your character grander, like epics or even accolades, depending on when you decide to get those. That's confirmed. It's important to have a supple community insight as to the nature of the end game for something like this so you don't get derailed in some tangent discussion. And to succumb to that for a second, I'm also going to full disagree about HOs. I don't know one person who is willingly spending millions or billions on HOs; I know many who spend hours Hamidon raiding for the experience...but no one aware of it's patch sinking cents into it. Which makes sense, because that would be really stupid. It's literally pointless as compared to using inexpensive IOs. If you have information refuting that I'd actually love to know, you can message me. I digress. I could be sold on this. I'm swaying on the fence, because I think IOs are already almighty; the IOs were never meant to be THIS easily accessible. So I think adding things like global +12 res is silly, and if it went that direction I'm opposed. But I also miss when I was noob on live, aspiring to have the long list of set bonuses veterans had and feeling pushed to grind as well as just kill things to have fun. If the legendary grade were completely unique things like perhaps a new accolade attack power or "chance for max recharge for 30 sec, chance for max damage for 15" and it was minor chances for a max stat that was locked in, I think that could be awesome and more balanced. I also think, since for this entirely we are assuming all other IOs are relatively easy to attain, that you must have at least ONE very rare set (yes set not just a proc PvPers, proc based PvP is stupid and I want to do things to discourage it) to slot in legendary, though can be dropped without one and sold if desired. I want to push this, and I think the nature of the buffs that are come up with here will make or break it for the community; more than even the conceptual system that will end up governing it. I'm 51/49.
  23. Fallout Shelter, Meltdown are displaying debuff resistances in their Detailed Info that does not appear on combat attributes, such as to hit resistance and recharge resistance. These buffs are not actually granted. I Edit: Meltdown offers the recovery debuff res AFTER the main effects expire. Should be a glitch.
  24. The tag isn't present, preventing IOs like Cloud Senses from being slotted.
  25. This is so weird. I'm going to start off by saying we have pretty much collectively decided travel is something to be taken for granted now; not a privilege to eventually be earned but a certain feature. That was reinforced by the decrease in level to acquire travel powers, Khelds having no level requirement, ninja run and prestige accessories being free, etc. Travel is just not the novelty it once was, so the mods request comes easy to understand. All things considered, it's practically just the next step. That being said, I still disagree. Fly was and still should be thematically determined by you. You want magic based fly, you get fly and toss on an aura. You want tech based fly, you learn the skill (get the power) and strap on a jetpack back piece. In homecoming, that's readily accessible! They even imported the mystic flight to help add thematic value for magic users (which I have mixed feelings on undermining ordinary flight considering the above but whatever it's cool.) The temp power flight power was just a tool you threw on to get places obligatorily. It was never meant to be a substitute for the true flight you attain as part of the committment to your character, there are no shortcuts. It was clunky for a reason. There was never a need for theme oriented temp travels as such supremely undermines existing options and the customization centrism we all love, ninja and beast runs were the only exceptions (likely because they couldn't be fitted under any pools) and frankly could've just been power spectrum'ed super speed reskins, and if we are going to start putting resources in the p2w vendor that are actually integral to our character designs in some regard then that name really just got a lot less fun. Contemplatively against this one guys.
