Focused Feedback: New IO Sets (Build 3)
Vanden replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
If Bombardment goes back to Ranged Def in the 6th slot but with a lower value, I think either the Accuracy, Recharge, or Range set bonuses should be bumped up to a higher value in exchange. -

I tried the pool out and I found that Corrosive Vial requires a target to use, rather than being placeable anywhere like Ignite. Could the icon be changed to have a targeted AoE border, or a combo targeted-location AoE border like I made for Glue Arrow? -
Focused Feedback: New IO Sets (Build 3)

I couldn't help but notice that Shrapnel is a Rare set, but it doesn't have a proc. Shouldn't it be an uncommon set then? I think the change to Bombardment is okay. The impetus for making it was of course that the targeted AoE sets were lackluster, but that didn't mean it had to blow them all out of the water and be better in every way. -

Focused Feedback: Experimentation (Build 1 - 4)

TP Foe suddenly getting 10,000 range wouldn't actually be so big. You'd only be able to actually target an enemy from around 300 feet away, which is my best guess as to how far you can get before the reticle drops. You wouldn't be able to get around that by targeting through a teammate, either, you'd just end up recalling them instead. -
Focused Feedback: Electrical Affinity - Powers (Build 2)
Vanden replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Expanding on my idea to have Shock do something with the Galvanic Sentinel, what if using Shock on the Sentinel immediately gave you max stacks of Static and a large heal and +end, but killed the Sentinel? I think we'd have to rename Shock and change it to use the Dehydrate animation, to sell the idea that you're sapping energy from the target, but it might make Shock more desirable. Also, another crazy spitball idea, what if Defibrillate gave teammates rezzed with it an EM Pulse-like power? It would basically be the AoE from when Power Surge in Electric Armor expires. It could appear in the temporary pop-up tray, and be usable on-demand after being rezzed. Only once and only with a certain time frame, of course. -
Focused Feedback: Experimentation (Build 1 - 4)

I think we'd really want it to be a power you can grab with no prior investment into the pool. But we're pretty off-topic at this point. -
Focused Feedback: Experimentation (Build 1 - 4)
Vanden replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Short or non-existent activation time as well, and, crucially, a recharge time. Jaunt ticks a lot of those boxes. The problem is how to add it to the pool. The most obvious solution would be to combine Recall Friend with Teleport Foe, but how to reconcile the radically different ranges they have...? -
Yeah, my mistake, I meant Intuition.

I would highly recommend looking into Intuition alpha. Damage, Range, Slow, Hold, all things you could benefit from.

The game has come a looooong way since this...

You can’t be attacked by hostile mobs when the interiors are sectioned-off as they are. -
Focused Feedback: Electrical Affinity - Name
Vanden replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
They’re not poorly-named either. Their names tell you succinctly and clearly the theme of the sets, which is exactly what a set name should do. -

Vanden replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Your argument is sound, but it would only apply if the set was named poorly, which it is not. -

Well hey, what if we called it Electrical Evocation? Get some added alliterative appeal. -
Focused Feedback: Experimentation (Build 1 - 4)
Vanden replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
The Flight and Leaping pools both have "combat" versions of their travel powers (namely, Hover and Combat Jumping). Jaunt really seems like the missing "combat" version of Teleport that Stone Tanks have always wanted. It would've been great if it could've been in the teleport pool. -
Focused Feedback: Electrical Affinity - Name
Vanden replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
If they were launching a new Controller primary set, nobody would bat an eye if it was "<something> Control." Same thing if it was a new Dominator secondary called "<something> Assault." "Affinity" is the closest thing to a naming convention the admittedly scattershot Buff/Debuff sets have, so Electrical Affinity for the electric-themed Buff/Debuff set is a perfect fit. -
I just want him back in the LRSF, I don't care one way or the other about him staying dead.

Are we going to see pool power statistics, too? I'm really looking forward to another interminable "nerf Hasten" thread!

Focused Feedback: Electrical Affinity - Powers (Build 2)
Vanden replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Forgive me if this seems out of touch, as I haven't had the chance to test the new set, but I see people saying that Shock doesn't do enough, so would it be possible to make Shock usable on the Galvanic Sentinel to some effect? Maybe something like, it maxes out your Static stacks and makes the Sentinel do a PBAoE damaging hold, but kills the Sentinel, or charges it up, making it use its own Shock attack in addition to Discharges for a few seconds. -
Focused Feedback: New IO Sets (Build 2)

The only thing that's changed is Bombardment, which now gives Acc, Rech, and End of 61%, 85.7%, and 39.7% respectively. (Dam is unchanged) -
Use Soul Storm's Animations for Gravity Controls Holds
Vanden replied to oedipus_tex's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If that was possible, it could work. But if they're going to stitch together a whole new animation sequence, I think the animation you see the unwilling subjects of Circle of Thorns rituals using would be better. That also has the victim floating helplessly above the ground, but they don't turn upside-down, so it wouldn't be weird they always land on their feet. -
Several sets have powers that let you recover endurance by attacking enemies around you, gaining endurance for each enemy hit. Of these powers, Consume in Fiery Aura is noticeably worse than the rest of them. I've put together a chart that shows how these powers compare to each other. Radius (ft) Recharge (sec) End per enemy Autohit? Notes Consume 20 180 20 No Gives -End resistance Power Sink 10 60 25 Yes Energy Drain 12 60 25 Yes +Def per enemy hit Energy Absorption 12 60 15 Yes +Def per enemy hit Dark Consumption 8 180 25 No Not in an armor set DNA Siphon 20 90 5 No Long list of other possible effects As you can see, the only ones Consume compares favorably to are DNA Siphon in Bio Armor, and Dark Consumption in Dark Melee. DNA Siphon does a whole laundry list of effects besides recovering endurance, however, and Dark Consumption is the only one not in an armor set, meaning a character could potentially have DC and any of the other powers together. In other words, Consume is bottom of the barrel. It has triple the recharge of the powers it compares most directly to, and it needs an accuracy check to recover endurance, making it much worse for managing endurance. The things it gets in exchange for the triple recharge are meaningless damage, a tiny +Recovery buff that doesn't last nearly long enough to matter, a larger radius, and endurance drain resistance. From my experience with the other powers like Power Sink, the radius is not a big deal. It's easy to hit enough enemies to fill up your blue bar even with the smaller radii. The endurance drain resistance is nice, but the real killer of blue bars is -Recovery debuffs, so sapping enemies will still leave you gasping for breath, especially since Fiery Aura gives no defense buffs to make those attacks miss. So, with all that said, the change I'm asking for for Consume is really very minor. Currently, the way the power works is that it's technically autohit, but only the end drain resistance is really autohit; the damage, +Endurance, and +Recovery still have a hidden accuracy check that goes unreported in the combat log. My request is to make the +Endurance and +Recovery also autohit, and leave only the damage needing the hidden accuracy check. That would bring it closer to the strength of its peers.

Use Soul Storm's Animations for Gravity Controls Holds
Vanden replied to oedipus_tex's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It would probably be too strong. After Soul Storm wears off, the enemy falls flat on their face and has to stand back up, leaving them helpless for several seconds longer than the hold actually lasts. Not such a big deal on a strictly single-target hold on a very long recharge, but you put it on some easily spammable powers and it turns into a big buff to Gravity's control potential. They would probably need to nerf the duration of the holds to keep them in line. -
The unaddressed problem with new Electric powers
Vanden replied to Draeth Darkstar's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
NPCs rarely have toggles to run, and if testing is to be believed, they don't actually need to have enough endurance to cover the cost of a power to use it, only more than 0 endurance.
