  1. Yet you put yourself out there for me to judge you... You are a prime example as to why many people simply do not want to post the forums. I came to the Bug Report forums with a legit issue, one in which I even have knowledge of, even presented a possible easy solution, just for some Mr. Thinkstheyknowitall to come in on top of it, brush it off with, "you can fix that on your side," which is completely bad and wrong advice. All that stands to do is undermine the issue with a false presumption that it's not a problem because it can be resolved client side; it cannot. You say that you would refrain from thinking that I know anything about you? I would suggest you take your own advice. You did that when your response to me was, "Okay, if you say so" which is a completely snide and dismissive response and a huge indicator that you think that you know me; or know more than me. So if you don't want somebody to judge you, perhaps you shouldn't respond to people as if they are incompetent, especially when it quickly became clear that you don't have a full understanding how mods work in this game. I may not know you (and don't want to, wouldn't want to even if I did) but I do know that you don't fully understand how sound mods work...otherwise you would not have responded in the way that you did. If you are going to respond with advice on a bug report, you should first make sure your advice is spot on, otherwise you are wasting people's precious time and giving very bad advice.
  2. I must admit, I find your snideness a bit off here. Since it is clear that you yourself do not make mods, or you would know this. This also means that you are giving other players bad advice. Which means because of your advice, players are taking the time to try and learn how to make a mod that helps them with their problem (time is valuable) just to find out that they can only change the sounds, maybe even delay sounds, adjust the volume of sounds, but cannot make a sound activate faster. So they end up spending all that time to try and fix something on their end, just to learn that what they are trying to fix is a server side issue, not a client side issue. In other words, you are giving people bad advice, then when they tell you that you are wrong, even in a nice way, you come back with a snide remark. Please stop giving bad advice, if you don't know anything about the subject matter, you shouldn't be giving out advice like this. I have made countless mods for this game, some of which you may be using and not even realizing it originated by me. I have a very rounded understanding of what can and cannot be done when it comes to sounds in this game. The rude gesture was out of line.
  3. I have a very vast history of making sound mods for this game, like...a lot. Trust me when I tell you, this is something that cannot be done on my end.
  4. First, Integration has 4 different sound files it plays upon activation. All 4 sound bites should be playing simultaneously. These sounds are heal1_loop/regen3/regen4 and the new version of /Tarzan. These sounds and effects should all activate the very second you toggle on the power. (See Troll Gardvord with Regeneration Integration for example) The original version is what the Gardvord uses, their version of the /Tarzan animation does not sound like a drum beating when you beat your chest. Our version has been changed. Their version is the original version of Integration and the activation sequence plays properly for them. It does not play properly for us I suspect is because the OG Devs broke it when they tried to give it the new /Tarzan that we currently have today. Somewhere along the implementation, they got the timing wrong and front loaded the /Tarzan emote to play first, prior to the power effect and sound effects of Integration. When the OG Devs replaced the Integration animation with the new version of /Tarzan, they broke how it is suppose to time out. Now, Integration plays the /Tarzan first, then when that is completely finished animating, then Integration kicks on, which plays the 3 sound loops and effects for Integration. That is not how it is supposed to work, it is supposed to play all of it at the same time. Easy fix, is simply to get rid of the new version of Tarzan for activating Integration, and replace the file with the file that the Gardvord use. They should all be playing simultaneously, not one after the other. Sorry, but this has been irking me for the past 10+ years now. Ever since they first broke it by changing the animation for it. I can't stand how the OG Devs use to break things and then just brush it off to the side like it never happened instead of fixing what they broke. Hopefully we can finally have this fixed? Thanks in advanced.
  5. When my character gets out of line, I control them by standing them in the corner, sometimes I ground them and when they really act out of line, I may even use a belt. However, that is for the most extreme cases, so don't go calling HPS (Hero Protective Services) on me over it!
  6. That is actually what brought me here to discuss this. I was trying very hard to get my Energy/Negative Resists up on a Tank and I kept running in to the Fire/Cold brick wall.
  7. I have never once thought Placate was skippable. That's like having a Jelly sandwich without the peanut butter. A lot of players were saying it was a wasted power, I never once agreed with that. I simply chopped up people skipping placate up to mass psychosis.
  8. That was what I thought as well. Which is the primary reason that I find all these set bonuses being fire/Cold based a bit of a workaround.
  9. I had in my head that Energy/Negative was second most common and Fire/Cold was at the bottom of that list. Once you get passed low levels anyway.
  10. First, let me say this is not a Suggestion, but rather Feedback. Cold/Fire Damage Resist and Defense seem to be in my face on every single build I make. It's really hard to get around taking those, even when I don't need them. This especially becomes a problem if say you create a Fire or Ice Tank. It seems all of the best IO's are put in a way where there is simply no getting around these bonuses and the remaining options are subpar at best. I am perplexed as to why there is so much of this built in to IO's. Not sure if this was intentional or if this was an oversight on the OG Devs part, but I find these two defense/resist being built in to all of these IO's to be problematic and a bit overkill. That's my two cents on the Feedback. Take it from a grain of salt, since not everyone builds their characters the same way and not everyone plays the same type of powersets/AT's. Is this something you all also struggle with when building characters, or do you find it to be more helpful as opposed to being a hindrance? Curious how other players perceive this from their points of view.
  11. Oddly enough, I have had quite a few /Super Reflexes characters over the years, both here and on live, and what brought me to think Evasion was...well, useless, is that dodging AoE has never been an issue for me. Now, that might be because I often stack other defenses like Combat Jumping and Weave/and or Maneuvers, add IO set bonuses to that, I simply never had an issue with dodging AoEs. I guess it gave me a false sense of perception that Evasion was simply useless and easily skippable. However, if I can just take Tough and skip Weave and Combat Jumping and replace the two with Evasion, that will change how I build completely.
  12. Damn, I thought it was the same values. That's good to know, thank you. Just checked Mids, unless mids is incorrect (which it has been known to be from time to time) the values are a 10% difference. Stalker caps at 50% and a Scrapper caps at 60%. However, that may be intentional by the Devs, so I'm not going to wine about 10% Resist difference.
  13. Hmmm, interesting. I honestly didn't know that those values were stacked with a nonexistent Lucky. I can also say that I have never taken Evasion on a Stalker. I have never had issues with AoE kitting me on my stalker, either, despite the fact that I never took it in to my build...that was even before IOs came out. I mean, they would hit me occasionally, but rare. Thank you for the nontypical answer though, you have given me a bit to think on. Appreciate it, @Uun.
  14. I'm sure this question has been brought up at least once and I am betting it was even suggested a time or two on the Suggestion Forums...which leads me to my personal opinion followed by three questions. Opinion: Evasion on a Stalker just simply put has never made any sense even from day one of CoV. Stalkers already get AoE Defense with Hide and having yet another toggle (remember, Hide used to cost endurance) was just overkill on a set that has no endurance recovery bonuses. That set has always been an endurance hog, even after Hide was changed to cost zero endurance, it's still hard on Endurance. However, even if I were to be completely wrong about that information, when we look at the set today, the way so many things avoid Defense in the end game by obliterating Defense with Defense Debuffs, it becomes clear that Stalkers really could use the scaling resists granted by Lucky. I am thinking you would be hard pressed to find any Stalker who actually takes Evasion in to their build, and I am betting that it has always been this way for Stalkers. So IMHO, it was just a bad choice by the OG Devs to have Evasion in the build instead of Lucky. Question 1: Does anyone even take Evasion in their builds? If so, mind giving your reasons outside of, "I use it for Shield Wall or LotG." Question 2: Does anyone know if the OG Devs has ever given their reasoning behind putting Evasion in the build instead of Lucky? I can't imagine it being for any balance reasons, since Evasion grants more AoE Defense than Lucky. Question 3: Assuming this has been suggested in the Suggestion Forums a time or two, what was the final consensus on that subject; if any? Or was it another tug-of-war suggestion that simply got buried in the arguments as most of those types of suggestions often go?
  15. PvP has been completely broken in this game and is no longer fun. Nerf after nerf after nerf has lead to too many meta PvP builds. Once upon a time, an Ice/Cold Corruptor was valid with their slows. Now, slows barely affect movement and you can't even notice a slow recharge affect. Saps used to work, now they are a joke. Holds, Immobs, CC in general is also a joke. Now PvP is all about damage damage damage, resist resist resist (because defense is also a joke now) and Super Speed + Superjump, all other travel powers deemed useless. I miss PvP in this game, PvP was very fun in this game until the introduction of IOs. Around that same time came nerf after nerf and it all completely destroyed PvP for hard core PvPers such as I once was. The PvP in this game is so far beyond broken, it cannot be fixed. I will never PvP in this game again, not even for my beloved badges. Sorry, I used to love PvP and I lived in Warburg and RV, I was very good at it, but after all the nerfs over the years brought on by crybabies, never again. P.S. Yes, I am bitter, salty and a mad bro. TLDR; Sorry, I would not PvP in this game ever again....even if it meant that I had to do it in order to save this game from having the plug pulled again.
  16. Hurricane for me is only used when I pull aggro while I am off at a ranged distance. Like you, I also turn Steamy Mist off if asked, thing is, nobody asked me, this dude just started pointing fingers and started in at me to "educate me" as he put it...so I turned it off to shut him up. I simply shook my head at his ignorance and went on about my business. However, I kept in mind that I had been gone a while, and wanted to be sure that something had not changed since I was gone before determining that his complaints were unfounded. Not being here for a while, I knew it was possible that something had changed that I was not aware of.
  17. Nobody has a louder voice than me...don't even try me bud, I'll break out the megaphone on your candy ass.
  18. I personally feel that it went from one extreme to the other. Going from unlimited to 13 is...well, stupid. It should have been more like 35 to 50, at least enough to gather aggro of an entire room, but not enough to get the aggro of an entire map. Judging from conversations over the years in game, it would indicate the majority of players want this, however, the majority of player do not post the forums, so we have forum posters who have the loudest voices on the subject. However, I feel 13 always has been far too low and unlimited has always been far too high. But, like most games, you either get far too much or far too less, there is almost never a happy medium.
  19. I can attest to this, back during live, I found the single bug that negatively affected the game that this game has ever seen, a bug that crashed entire zones and could be repeated on command. I was told that I would be nominated for the Bug Finder Badge...I never got it. That badge is the hardest badge to get known to humankind.
  20. I remember people taking it, but only as a prerequisite to Phase Shift. Stalkers would take it regularly if they PvPed so that they could stack it with Hide, outside of that, my memory serves the same as yours does, rarely people took it otherwise. Not to say I never seen it, but it wasn't rather all that common. Remember, you had to take Stealth (which came with a movement speed debuff) or Invis Other before you could get Invisibility back in those days. Also, you could not attack while being invisible, you had to turn it off before using any powers that affected other players. It was simply just too much pain outside of PvP. Defenders might take it to play around with Hami...that is the most common use I found, heh.
  21. I am open to test it out if you like. My girlfriend and I both have a /Storm Corruptor, so we can both assist in testing this. (assuming we both play on the same server. I play Excelsior.)
  22. Doh! So it does, but now I am confused. I thought people were trying to tell me that it does not. Edit: However, after seeing Booper's response, that clears up the confusion, thanks. 🙂
  23. Okay, good. So the Defense and Resist values stack, however, the Stealth values do not. Thanks for the clarification. I suspected as much, but after having that tiff with the other player, I wanted to be absolute sure that nothing has changed since I had left the game.
  24. Just to be clear, although I do believe you covered this; are you saying the my Steamy Mist and another player's Steamy Mist will not stack the Resist and Defense stats? Or is it just the Stealth that won't stack? (although I must say I do not believe the Stealth ever did stack...not that I can remember anyway.)
