  1. I see; however, there in lies the conundrum. NPCs need to have melee abilities to bring them within melee range of the farmer. So if you take all of the melee abilities out and replace them with ranged, the NPCs will stay at range which is very counterproductive to the farmer. Me, even though I have a farmer, I really don't care if farming is in the game or not. I take advantage of it for the influence/infamy, but if one day it suddenly ceased to exist, I would shrug it off and not give it a second thought. Having said all of that, there is a work around for this, not sure why others have not figured it out yet as the solutions seems very obvious to me. Workaround 1: No more maps with a ceiling. (To be explained in Workaround 2) Workaround 2: Watch your defense, when it drops below 35%, jump straight up in to the air using nothing but sprint and Athletic Run until the -defense drops off and you get back above 43%; the -Defense drops off rather quickly and then in which case, it's back to your regular farming program. This -Defense in the NPC's fire melee abilities only costs me about 30 seconds per run in a Carnie Map...so it's not even an issue, but rather a minor annoyance. My issue stands as this; Giving Fire Melee -Defense feels unfair to other sets that only have -defense. Now Fire Melee has -Defense and DoTs. I fail to see the mechanics logic in that.
  2. unless something has changed since last year, I do not believe this to be accurate. I am certain that in order to gain maximum influence, you must have those in the NPC builds, otherwise you suffer great influence loss. Like I said, unless something has changed, the complaint has some validity. The part I don't find valid is that it was done to nerf anything. I do find the buff completely over the top, it should have just been given a DoT buff instead of given yet another secondary effect. Giving it that secondary effect just makes other powers even less valid in comparison, say for example, Peacebringers.
  3. I absolutely loved it! I miss it, wish I had folks to play it again with, sadly, not many my way want to mess with it.
  4. A bit off topic here, but giving Fire Melee -Defense was just, huh? PB's have -defense, they don't have +DoT, so now we have Fire that has both? Fire was /powercreep as it was...now it gets -defense to boot? Just mentioning this because as of late, there are a lot of things that just don't make sense either from a realistic standpoint or a balance standpoint. Can't say I am a fan.
  5. I used to play Heroes and Villains Unlimited. I got quite a lot of enjoyment from those back in the day.
  6. I don't think that would stop the shoving though. The shoving has always existed, however, it was barely noticeable back when the hit box was small. That as far as I know is the only fix.
  7. That's a valid point. I know a lot has changed since those days, so that would need to be something looked in to and corrected if it presents itself to be a problem; before the collision mechanics change would go live.
  8. Ever since the OG Devs increased the area of collision mechanics around our characters, (one of the many ways they implemented deterrents in response to Fire Tank Herding) we started seeing issues where if two characters get too close to each other, it will bump your character around. This problem wasn't so bad at first, but it's getting worse. One prime example that you can see is when two players spawn in Atlas after character creation, they will fight to occupy the same space and literally push each other around for (the maximum I have personally witnessed) 25 feet or more. I have been pushed off cliffs, pushed out of the center of mobs as a Tank and ended up on the outside of the mobs, I have had Assassin's Strike interrupted due to being pushed too far away from my activation point that it registered as an interrupt, pushed so far away from Ms. Liberty that by the time I finish training up, it didn't count because I had been pushed too far away from her and even pushed in to other rooms in which caused me to grab the aggro of a room before the team was ready. Let's face it, folks, the collision mechanics are a problem in how they stand now. Since Fire Tank Herding is no longer a thing, I would like to see this deterrent removed and the collision mechanics reverted back to what they were pre-issue 5. Thoughts?
  9. I agree, not every hero was in super shape. Most...but not all. I'm sure that would lead to a lot of insulting behavior though, I can only imagine somebody creating an obese character and naming it something super offensive. That could be why they don't add that body type. Just a guess. However, for those of us mature, I wish I had the option.
  10. Okay, now you're dreaming. Arthur did not have a six pack. A keg, maybe. Not a six pack. 😄
  11. City of Heroes had a card game? Next thing you know you are going to tell me that it was a RPG as well...
  12. His bio is actually Troll who was forced to OD on Superdine. It's not super detailed, but that is the gist of it.
  13. Yeah, we have had those for a good long minute now, heh.
  14. So I have noticed over the years these threads about copyright infringement pop up from time to time. Primarily because there seems to be a fine line between "that is too close to the original character" and "It's all good, you are far away enough that you should be okay." So, I figured I would give a good example as to what is a clear knock off of another character, but far away enough that it is free from infringement. If all goes well, people can post their knock-offs here to get opinions on if it is too close or not. Hopefully this could lead to a "safe from the nerf bat" future for players who want to create homage characters. I will go first; although I am fairly certain I already know the answer, I will post up my homage character. His name is (I know, all caps sucks, promise he is my only one with all caps, but, he is a homage to a character who is ever spoken with all caps, so there, lol) CUSS.
  15. Wait, I thought you could only abandon a mission once per what, week?
  16. Story Arc missions. For an example, we are currently on Villain Side running Timothy Raymond story arc missions, he is giving us his missions in wild random orders. So we are having to run many of them twice instead of completing them together.
  17. My significant other and I often duo together and we will pick the same contact after a Bank mission. Problem is, even though we are attempting to grab the same missions, they often times give us two completely different missions all out of order from each other. We end up having to do many missions twice since they are given in some random order. Would love to see the contacts give the same missions in the same order so that players who duo together can all pick the same missions in the same order.
  18. Old post, I know, but it pulled up in google... I disagree with this part, not taking those two powers is like not having jelly with your peanut butter. Not to mention, you are hurting your single target damage since they chain together so flawlessly; unless you plan to just use Bitter Ice Blast and Freeze Ray...which to me, is just boring.
  19. I used to feel the same way. Thematically it made no sense...powerful enough to cast it on others, but somehow just never could grasp how to cast it on yourself. Then somebody reminded me that we can cast Personal Force Field on ourselves. The only way I would agree to a bubbler casting these bubbles on themselves, is if Personal Force Field was reduced to a toggle and had the values adjusted accordingly. However, if we did this, other people would complain that the same can't be done for Thermal, Ice or Sonic and that would open up a whole new can of worms.
