  1. If AE farming for Vet level rewards goes away, those that do it will either move to a different kind of farm or stop playing. It depends on how many of each of those two groups there are. One will keep generating those rewards, just slower. The other will eliminate one source of the supply chain altogether.
  2. *Leaves to name squat "I'll be Bach" and every other classic composer I can think of.*
  3. While I would like for there to be an easier way for active accounts to keep their names, I would NOT like a system that automatically set all my characters to zero days online whenever I logged in to any character or whenever the query was run. I use the time logged off as an indicator of when certain characters deserve some game time.
  4. Ah! Thanks, that makes sense. Meteoric was actually Auto-boosted to 50 with the freebies menu, but not trained. And he sits at 50 on the live server. So my brain just read right past that.
  5. POSSIBLE BUG? I'm not sure what is going on here. I have one character on Brainstorm with a ! for being offline for 236 days. OK that makes sense, but I also have one with 208 days and two with over 400 days that do NOT give the notification icon. What's up with that?
  6. I have no problem with an automated system to free up names that have been and may remain unused for a long time. However, I am concerned that a purely automated system with no governor or regulator may lead to offensive name claiming (see my post above) or a new name squatter that doesn't mind logging in periodically. I think there should be a limit to how many names an account can claim in a certain period of time. What I don't know is what amount is reasonable. One name claim per month per account, perhaps?
  7. I think that would actually be an interesting experiment, assuming that all the proposed AE changes go live, for one server to be kept as it is currently. Let players literally vote with their feet.
  8. Unless that leads to less people playing, earning drops, and selling them . . .
  9. Considering that many of us have been playing this game for 18 years . . . Also considering that it took me several months to get my first 50, but I never want to go back to that.
  10. I think that part of the data-mining part of the problem is that there are outliers and then there's a whole other tier of outliers beyond that and it skews the data. For example, there is a huge difference in getting from 1-50 +T4 in say 80 hours of playing regular content, 40 hours of farming, or 5 hours of elite farming. Personally, I am OK with 5 hours being too fast and OK with 40 hours. But if even that is considered too fast, then I think we need to make regular content faster and make both of them 60 hours. Again, I'm just using round numbers to make a point, not to state these are the numbers or should be the numbers.
  11. I disagree with this. There is certainly an incentive to get things quick in AE farms, and some people only farm for those rewards and some for other reasons. And yet, people still do TFs, Trials, Raids, Story Arcs, and other stuff multiple times every day.
  12. Please explain this part. And you didn't really answer either question.
  13. Should the AE be 10 times faster than any other content to get XP and other rewards? If not, what should the proper amount be?
  14. I think that AE vet XP (and even regular XP) could be toned down a notch AND non-AE content XP should be toned up two notches. That increases incentive to leave AE, reduces incentive to only farm, while still leaving both methods viable and enjoyable for those that like them.
  15. 9) Relaxation - Once you get into a rhythm, farming can be soothing and meditative. 10) Being surrounded by enemies and mowing them down makes the player feel super. 11) Not having to wait/deal with other players.
  16. Jerk hacker! Dupin Rares!
  17. Guys, I can understand being upset at changes to something you like. I don't like them and I have said so. But the sky is not falling. No one is kicking you (generic you) out or preventing you from farming from 1-50 and including your I-power slots. The only reward you aren't getting is Vet experience, which also equals threads and Empyrean Merits. That's not insignificant, but it's also not the end of the world. Other changes do reduce the amount of XP a non-50 gets. But some of those can be regained by adjustments to your farm and build. The new aggro change might end up being a net gain or at least close to par if your clearing speeds are increased, making the XP/min higher.
  18. Agree with several others who really like the changes, especially the Hostless TwinkiesTM, but that the Colossi at 4-Star are a bit of a slog. I also found Romulus at 4* to be slog and repetitive. However, at 2* I found it difficult but thoroughly enjoyable. I understand that as people learn the new stuff it will get better and quicker and I might change my mind.
  19. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/MARTy Back on topic: Could someone run a quick map on live and on Brainstorm and note completion times? I'd also like to see a comparison of a level 1 with double XP on live and Brainstorm in AE and a benchmark in whatever level 54 arc is convenient.
  20. Taking my own suggestion, I ran one of Brigg's Comic Con maps (#11612), which limits you to level 49 with 53 as +4 to you. LIVE: EB is 102,531 XP/128,164 Inf Boss is 51,265 XP/64,081 Inf LT is 17,088 XP/20,504 Inf Min is 8,544 XP/5,979 Inf BRAINSTORM EB is 0 XP/87,311 Inf Boss is 0 XP/45,686 Inf LT is 0 XP/13,644 Inf Min is 0 XP/4,255 Inf NOTE: The influence amounts can go back up if the author edits his critters to give them more powers to hit 100% I'll run some more and add them here. Feel free to run your favorite maps and post as well. Edit 1. I also ran Flea's Fictional Farm Fairy Tale (#9092) at level 54, which has standard 5th Column enemies in the first mission. The influence was identical to Brigg's map for both live and on test. (Boss 64,081/LT 20,048/Min 5,979). No EB was tested as I don't have one in that mission. Edit 2. Since @Vayek chimed in, I ran his Night at the Movies: Killer Carnies from Space (#14685) His live numbers are exactly the same as Briggs and mine, but for Brainstorm it's: BRAINSTORM EB is 0 XP/98,344 Inf Boss is 0 XP/46,577 Inf LT is 0 XP/12,550 Inf Min is 0 XP/5979 Inf So Vayek's minions are fine but his EB, Boss, and Lts. still need adjusting. I also ran Heather Townsend for a benchmark. LIVE AND BRAINSTORM EB is unknown Boss is 76,897 XP/64,081 Inf LT is 25,632 XP/20,504 Inf Min is 12,816 XP/5,979 Inf
  21. A Homecoming change was that level 50s continue earning plain old XP and when they fill the ten bubbles they get a DING!, a whole set of inspirations, and a vet level. You no longer can earn this XP in AE, therefore no more DINGS!, no more inspirations, and no more vet levels or the incarnate goodies that come with vet levels. But you still earn the different IXPs to open incarnate slots. IXP doesn't do the other things that regular XP do for 50s. Once all your slots are unlocked you only get influence and drops.
  22. A level 50 in AE gets inf, recipes, SO drops, incarnate threads, and IXP to unlock the slots.
  23. Oh! Is it possible to add Fort Trident as a default destination on the SG portals? That way no one would ever be stranded, just click on the portal and return. And it let's characters without an SG to get to Fort Trident from any zone.
