I ended up getting a 2 gig hard drive and a SATA to USB adapter. I put the new one in the machine and have the old one using the USB while I run a deep scan and recover with Disk Drill. It's taking forever but the program can start and stop (like when the machine sleeps or gets powered down) and pick up where it left off. It's recovered a bunch of files, but the bulk of them are ones I already had saved in the cloud. There are a few folders with docs that were not backed up or in the cloud and I'm hoping it will eventually recover them. I did look at a possible new computer but what I wanted was about twice as much as I wanted to spend. But I do appreciate all the info shared.

Oh, we were supposed to report level 30? I'm up to level 44 and chugging along on Cosmic Flea, Dark Melee/Energy Aura Brute. I was able to do +1/x8 from about level 25 on and it's only getting better. -
I think he was going with the cones theme, as all those breath attacks are cones. I had a Staff/Bio Brute on live (named BioStic Flea, 'natch) that I liked a lot, even though he wasn't a monster damage dealer. It was fun messing with the six different stances to figure out what worked in different circumstances. Like you, I ended up staying in Offensive/Mind most of the time, but leveling up I did use the defensive or endurance efficient modes.

Thanks! I was looking at the icons on the right side of the screen and completely missed the ones on the left. Even worse, I completely glossed over the typed section "Notes: Arc of Destruction is unaffected by arc changes. I hear you on TW. It may indeed be the king of cones of melee attacks regardless of gauntlet. But the particular thing I am chasing now is the set that has the most cones that ARE effected by gauntlet bonus. Looking at the red exclamation icons, it seems that Dual Blades and Staff keep the arc modifier. Too bad I can't do Shield with either of those. So next question: What Primary benefits the most from gauntlet? I think it's Bio, Dark, Fire, and Rad as they each have a few PBAoEs.

A discussion Ukase started about the cone attack, Frost, made me think about tanks and cones and the benefit they get from the new and improved Gauntlet. So what combos would benefit the most? Titan Weapons is the only set with three cones so that would be my initial choice except that I vaguely remember that TW or some of its attacks were excluded. I tried to seek guidance from Uberguy's CoD, but I didn't find it. After that, Claws, Dual Blades, Spines and Staff each have two. Leviathan Mastery has three! And then Fighting and Force of Will have one more each for a total of 7, or 8 with TW. What would you guys make to be a king of cones? Bonus points for adding a Mids build, but I'm happy just talking about it.

If this was a buffet, what build should everyone try?

As you said: So assume, for the sake of argument, that at base your attack will hit anything between the center point at the bottom of your illustration to somewhere halfway between that point and the semi-circles marked 45 degrees. That's not a lot of ground covered. But improving it by 50% to get to the 45 degree line and you get MORE than 50% more ground covered because it is expanding as it travels out. So I think that you are correct in concept but maybe need a bot more +range or a slight adjustment before firing to hit the most possible. PS - I had a thought that you might be able to do some practicing on the RWZ dummies to get a feel for the range and the angle. Or use one of those neat Aeon temp power dummies, if you have one.

11-15-25 = Brute, dark melee/energy aura Hmmm . . . That sounds like a decent pairing and one I haven't played before. While I do have a bunch of dark melee, I only have a couple of energy aura. Strong defense and light resist backed by -tohit, two heals, some regen, and endurance for days. I came up with a build: And thus was born: COSMIC FLEA! Strange alien powered by Dark Energy. -
Not GASPR? My initial thought was a rad/dark melee tank. The aura and ground zero do -def, 2 heals, 3 end recovery, and soul drain for tohit. Yes, I know that soul drain needs to hit, but if used in a crowd chances are you'll hit at least a couple of critters.

I submit for consideration the use of one or more global channels to recruit for raids/events and/or use your global friends list to politely ask your buddies if they would be willing to temporarily transfer a character over to help out now and then. I don't think you'll get a giant wave of people doing that, but if you got 5 to 10 good players that's more than enough to make or break a raid. Personally, I wouldn't want to merge servers unless they got to single digits worth of players on concurrently.

What are your tips for managing a large character roster?
Bionic_Flea replied to oedipus_tex's topic in General Discussion
I tend to make a character and play them all the way to 50 and usually 50+3. I currently have 40 level 50s. They all belong to the same SG and, as others have said, I use the Bins for storage of frequently used or very rare IOs (eg. ATOs, HOs, PvPIO procs, etc.). I also use my only salvage storage for catalysts exclusively. It's super convenient to hit 50 and then run to the base to grab a dozen to several dozen catalysts to make my ATOs and WinterOs superior. Once one of my characters hits 50 I usually get an idea for another pairing or a name that implies certain powers and start work on a new character with a starting gift of 200-300 thousand inf. When I can't think of anything new, or sometimes just for the heck of it, I'll log in each character starting with the ones that have been logged out the longest. I'll then check their /ah for sales and purchases and craft/convert/sell some new stuff; see if they have any catalysts to store, and then check their accolade and incarnate status to see if I want to work on those for a bit before moving on to the next old character. I also will check their day job status before logging out using the BadgeSetList popup. See here: I don't delete characters, or strip them. In the history of CoH I think I have deleted two characters that I played - a plant/thorn dominator that I made right when CoV came out but I could never get into it, and an AR/Devices named Osama been Hidin' that got genericed and it killed the vibe. Other than that, I sometimes have a craving to play a certain AT or powerset, or someone asks for something in particular for a theme run or hard TF and will use the search function to look by AT or powers. Anyway, that's what I do. It may or may not work for you. -
The HC Discord also has a weekly chart here - https://discord.com/channels/572090223115239444/578851574412214272 I wonder if anyone has older screencaps of that page or if they are archived anywhere.

If, for whatever reason, this request cannot be done, could we at least move that dang pop up box off of the center of the screen? -
[v3.0.1] Gravity/Time/Primal ... Wibbly-Wobbly Timey Wimey
Bionic_Flea replied to Redlynne's topic in Controller
I tend to buy attuned enhancements for most of my build and slot them as soon as I can. That way the build levels as I do and I get the benefits of all the set bonuses on the way up. I sometimes use purples in the final build that I slot at 50, but still use some other attuned set on the way up. The sacrifice is that I then can't boost those attuned enhancements, but I tend not to use boosters too much beyond generic IOs, like +5 recharge in Hasten or +5 endurance reduction in Assault.- 78 replies
