Finally decided to stop being lazy and respec my claw/bio into a build I planned last year. Also, didn't have evolving armor on for the runs preceding this, fun.
-
Jesus, this map is awkward for claws. Got some good times, but going to try to push for sub-5 minutes before I post it.
-
Yeah, they only got me once, but it was interesting.
-
Before I run some test runs, I'm curious. Does anyone else have some issues with the first mission in the arc? The gigamurder incarnate buffs seem to take a long while before kicking in, surprised me when I got one shot running for the mender.

Decided to give it a crack on my main, since I never really benchmarked my characters with Trapdoor. A few disclaimers: 1: I had offensive and survival amplifier up from when I last logged in, though I genuinely don't see them impacting the time that much on this character, 2: I leveled mid-run, which might skew things slightly, but I'm not re-running over it. 3: I've not been active for the last few months, so still getting back into the momentum here Also decided to handicap myself by not touching the incarnate powers outside of whatever passive benefit they give me. I'm pretty happy with it's performance here regardless, I'll likely throw it at a pylon once the amplifiers fall off, it had a 1:50ish time but I didn't record it at the time since videos were still banned, curious if I could get that time again. The build is pinned in the discord's brute channel, if you're curious about it. I'm also pretty confident I could get the time lower if I continue to spam it all day, but I'd rather go back to working on my new energy/rad. 😛

While that is heresy to my claw loving eyes, try pulling the packs into eachother if you go that route to take advantage of GZ's absurd target cap.
-
There's a few interesting bits of patch notes around i16 that heavily imply this is intentional, interestingly enough.
-
It will benefit from bu+aim, though. So despite this minor flaw, you'll basically delete any robots under a boss you fire it at, especially if you opted to proc it out.
-
Interesting. Can you record your next go? Feel like I have to try pretty hard to not hit everything in front of me on the claw/bio, and that thing is a buzzsaw using that very combo.
-
Are you rotating follow up>shockwave>spin? Should be seamless and your best AoE combo.
-
You know this from our talks already, but I think savage is the only primary I could say performs better, or at least on par with scrapper and doesn't feel like you're that much weaker on damage. With secondaries, it's a much easier question, given brute stat caps and ATO bonuses being kinda nuts for stacking resist.

Shooting from the hip, I'll probably forget a few things, but brevity is probably best here. Savage brutes can pretty much do +1x8 the minute they get shred at level two if you just keep pumping the purps/reds as they drop, and it stays strong at 50. Ice/fire is also another strong brute (or scrapper) to try. Claw/bio scrapper is a monster in pretty much every aspect of the game, including leveling. Khelds can't start as gold, but if you slot out those nova AoEs and go tri-form, you'll be blasting through the game at a fairly respectable pace. Once warshades get dwarf mire, it's GG. You'll see people meme on khelds on occasion, but a well played one pretty much is a godlike character until they get outscaled by incarnate level stuff. KM/EN is probably the best exemping stalker, you get your attack chain as early as level eight, and stalker KM is not bad at all, unlike the other AT's. Everyone loves those /fire blasters, but mental will level and exemp better while not being too far behind on damage. You're also nigh-unkillable when drain psyche is saturated. Beam/tac and beam/dev (I prefer tac, but both are good.) is a pretty good blaster, the pure ranged playstyle is also relatively unique to these combos. Beam should carry early game, and your secondary gets some fun toys as you inch closer to the 30s. Remember: glue arrow is love, glue arrow is life.

I get most of this with slightly lower ddr, without being at half health, plus a heal, plus infinite endurance as energy aura. And that's not even the strongest alternative for brutes. Sr isn't bad, but to imply it's better than the other sets in the running is pure, unfiltered copium.

I wish hemo wasn't trash, but considering how little relevance that has to sav's overall performance, I'm not interested in humoring this 'debate' further.
-
It's good, but by no means in the top running considering the competition. I'll fight on that hill.
-
At this stage of the game, I'd like to see the other ones brought up. Additionally, since gloom is a DoT, it's actually performing close to what it should be. The cast time is the real thing that makes it extra good. A shame that a cool power like the shark is kneecaps by several bad decisions, such as being lethal with a long cast.
-
If you still want one, I can post mine later tonight. Pretty tanky for a squishy, you'll rampage through the game. EDIT: As promised. @StriderIV @ArmaazDrowning Doom.mxd I tuned it with having a purple, or an external buff of some sort on for capped defenses in mind as it gave far more build flexibility, though honestly, you will probably be mostly fine even without that assuming optimal play.

Something that isn't really talked about, but scrappers are currently only king of the mountain if they can game the ato proc, so if anything changes with that proc, that could pose a significant problem for their status. Without it, brutes would pretty easily still be the kings of swing for the most part.

Savage Melee Secondary (/Energy, /Rad, or /Something Else)?)
ScarySai replied to Mythical Creature's topic in Brute
My top vote goes to dark armor, it's my main's build and it's pinned in the discord if you're on that. Were I not dark armor, I'd probably be either fire armor following the recent bug fixes, or bio/rad. -
That doesn't sound like a problem with savage to me. Or am I supposed to ignore that gloom has been notoriously good for some arbitrary reason? I would use gloom for almost every single set. This argument you are trying to have is why I don't think the tier list format really works for individual powersets.
-
But it isn't. So your best chain is gloom>vicious>maim>savage or some variation of what your stats afford you. Bloodthirsty can cause some scary burst(?) windows. I don't disagree, it's probably around third for AoE, but that's not bad at all. I personally think overall it's the best in a general application, as it's performance is near top end in pretty much everything you can throw at it. Leveling, AV soloing, challenge settings, it's a very good set despite hemo being terrible.
-
Keep in mind it's a list for brutes. Psionic and KM would be much higher for stalkers, dark in S/A tier for scrappers, regen in F tier for anything else, ect. I'd probably change a few placements but not many.
-
I have, and it's absolutely not S or A material, especially on +4. @Without_Pause Most sets have a skippable power, and hemo is not important to savage's success. It performs incredibly well regardless.
