That's a consideration a lot of people ignore, but I actually test by taking off my alpha entirely for a few hours to see how it goes when I respec.
-
54% global is more than enough for this build. It was an issue when I was running <30% and had much more procs in the AoE. I play pretty much exclusively on +4.
-
Procs ignore the rage crash, and you have plenty of resists and heals to endure it in addition to your knockdown. They shine on scrappers and tanks for different reasons. Of course rad doesn't have DDR, it's not a defense set. It has regen and resists to damn near everything else though.

I think rad/ss tank is one of the best builds and broken things you could possibly make in the game if you abuse procs, since it essentially gets rid of all the downsides of doing so and takes full advantage of the tank buffs. Rad/Rad scrapper is pretty scary in terms of clearing, and I'd put it up there with claws/bio in terms of clear speeds. I think scrapper is best because unlike tank/brute, it has notable single target on top of it's horrific(in a good way) aoe damage. Energy/rad is quickly becoming my second favorite scrapper next to the claw/bio, though. It allows energy to make use of achilles+fotg without disrupting it's rotation as much as it would otherwise have to in order to fit them into a chain. Plus, you get some pretty good aoe to make up for how bad power crash is. Whirling hands is actually above average for a scrapper Pbaoe, so that + ball with a crit proc will wipe out groups whenever rad therapy/GZ aren't up. I definitely use meltdown more as an offensive cooldown than for defense. Honestly, you could probably skip GZ, but I don't want to. 😛

I'll post the tank when it's done, there's still a few slots I'm trying to optimize a bit, and I'm weighing the benefit of having kick+boxing for Xpunch over having Darkest Night for tanking things that are an actual threat. My EM/Rad is here, though I'm thinking of changing the weave slotting if I find myself not needing the accuracy anymore. An earlier build whiffed a lot. Fatal Fusion.mxd

Long live Piecemeal! May you fling helicopters wherever the road takes you. Thanks for all the fun content! 😄

I'm still doing some fine tuning on this character, but that run was very much an outlier, which kinda makes me mad shadowplay broke. Pretty much every bonesmasher in the meltdown window gave the proc, but weirdly enough, none of the TFs crit and it still got a good time. I'm kind of wondering if I wasn't paying attention and did something different rotationally, but hybrid was not on. General idea, meltdown + ageless on approach, go full burst god mode and fish for crits between every heavy hitter. It also allows you to get double ETs per rotation more frequently in my experience, and when that happens, you can do something dumb like Bs>tf>et>bs>zapp>et, which is a lot of burst if you get chain procs. I'm still playing around with it and adapting it to double ET when needed, but so far I find it gets close to the tf>et>Bs>snipe rotation while being better when you get lucky. I can post my build in the morning, you caught me getting ready for bed.

@MicrocosmHa, I made this combo recently and it's a favorite. Try a fully procced out bonesmasher with the ATO and a +5 damage heca. I did a 1:09 test and shadowplay decided to break on me doing some variation of bs>tf>et>bs>moonbeam with rad therapy when it's up and crit strikes isn't active. I see a lot of people put the ato in Tf, but I don't think that's optimal for the set reaching max potential. @DarknessEternal I would always use fotg in rad therapy for an energy/rad. You want to maintain it anyway, and scrapper energy doesn't really have a way to fit it into a rotation reliably otherwise. Even for mission bosses, since you hit so hard that the difference is equal to a damage proc at worst, and makes all your other procs hit harder in practice.

First revision of my Rad/SS has proved worth the trouble. Final time of 3:58. And since recording, I think I have an idea that can shave the time down even more.

Was going to post my new Rad/ss test results, but my internet is proving uncooperative on the upload. Will post it once the issue resolves.

Working for me on mobile.

That's kind of what I was saying. The best options for it aren't exactly ideal. War mace has jawbreaker and shatter, claws has follow up, Katana has GD and GC, stone has seismic, energy has bone smasher and rad has DB. They can all kinda field it without losing out on something, Savage has to kind of give up something for it. Uptime isn't great with it in SL, either. Leap on St encounters seems standard to me, though. The FOTG and really fast cast and proc-ability just makes it seem like a no-brainer to swap in over a maiming/savage strike when it's up. I do it all the time on my brute.

I wasn't paying attention and posted in the wrong thread the first go, lol. ANYWAY! My two newest characters that I put some extra costume love into. An Energy/rad scrapper that is very quickly competing with my claw/bio as the favorite. And a War Mace/Shield that I was playing around with, and really liked how the cyborg eyes worked out with the helmet+mask.

Oh jeeze, my bad. Reeding iz hard. Hidden. 😛

Can't run if 'yer dead. Claws/stone would probably be very strong as well.
-
@Sovera I'm working on a rad/rad now (on a bit of a rad kick this week, eh?) And I could very easily see the scrapper version of rad/stone getting sub 5 minute times. It's single target is a lot better, and the aoe is mostly the same if not better.

Trapdoor has a lot of narrow hallways, awkward jumps (especially if a web nade tags you right before) and big, lethal resisting mobs that combined with the vents, can very easily body block you and prevent proper positioning for a set like claws, in addition to the higher-than-normal lethal resists. Most aoe centric melee sets have 'good enough' burst to body a boss, and most ST focused sets have 'good enough' aoe to wipe out the minions/LTs so you can focus on the boss. There's also some RNG to it, a poorly timed smoke grenade can set you back if you don't want to use insps. This does undervalue some sets, but it does seem like a good enough average benchmark in most cases, if you can work around the minor annoyances. Especially the camera. Side note for @Bill Z Bubba: I tried my warshade earlier since It's one of my mains and I was confident in a good time, but I got four quantum galaxy boss spawns in a row and gave up on getting a good time. While they aren't a threat to my character, they are a big bag of hit points with resists that heavily stalled the time. Perhaps I was just unlucky, but if I try again tomorrow and it's consistent, it make's the clear time alone for trapdoor a suboptimal way to measure them relative to other classes. Absolutely shredded the minions/LTs, though.

I think it's largely because scrapper savage doesn't really have a good attack to put the ATO in, especially since hemo sucks. There's vicious slash, but you'd want vicious slash to benefit from the proc. So brute catches up to them, since that proc is basically the only thing putting scrappers on the map still.
-
I didn't give it a bloody F. C is perfectly fair for SR.
-
Been meaning to try rad melee on a non fire farming alt. Very nicely done.
-
I hope it's good because I have always never liked tanks and leaned on brutes. But due the nature of how this build works, with the rampant proc abuse and extra durability, I don't personally see a brute clone outperforming it. Rage scales better, they hit more targets, the range is absurd and you can basically only die if you don't watch your crashes. That said, I love my ice/fire brute and will try it later. Less durable than my main, but very good at killing.
-
I probably will when it's finished. There's a really good one in the HC discord, in the meantime.
-
Gonna look a little scuffed while it processes. Kinda mad about getting stuck on that guy's head, but I won't complain about a 4:20ish time on an unfinished build. I'd push for a lower time, but it's time for sleep. 😛 Anyway, yeah. Rad/SS is one of the most disgusting characters you can make in this game short of feeding a fire blaster reds.

The one that survives my criticals is probably a boss. 😛
