  1. I don't get it either. Is it some special kind of fire ? You would think ALL the PBAOE fire attacks would cause fear then. Why doesn't the heal toggle do it. I have it on my blaster but its DP so I have to be in some sort of melee range for Hail of Bullets. I use it to run by mobs and get aggro and then turn a corner and turn it off.
  2. I disagree. IF every power had every IO option then I wouldn't be complaining or asking for some sort of fix to this. The problem is that to create a certain build within the IO sets given you are limited to Certain powers and if you want to add in thematic builds you are even limited even more. A good example of this is the Dark with Fluffy pet at the end. That Set because of the IO options pretty much limits you to to creating a Range cap build and rely on darkest night to obtain your melee and aoe defense cap via the anchor to debuff. There is just no way to get Range cap and Melee cap or Range cap and AOE cap with that set because the IO options are limited. Whereas other sets like Traps for example get you almost to defense cap in your mid 30s and that is with just SO's and a few low end IO sets. If I were an SO only player or didn't understand the game mechanics then I wouldn't care less. Because it would mean nothing to me. But it does because I do understand enough about the game mechanics and care to create certain builds and yea sometimes a bit thematic builds. Again we could debate about the value of thematic builds etc... But that is a different discussion. Because then we could go into why have a costume creator and why play a superhero/supervillain MMO. Another problem you missed completely as I posted is that there is a BUG.. When you try to ignite with the Taser or Charm ( because they do exactly the same thing ) The Oil Slick Target will DISAPPEAR after the first shot. So if you fail you don't have a second chance and that REALLY SUCKS !! End result that is really Limiting Oil Slick to just making mobs fall down. I have zero clue if the procs I added to it are even working honestly. But they are not working when its just an Oil Slick. I have a damage parser that I will use to see if the procs are of any value or working at all, just being lazy atm to test it out. But in a nutshell the very simple crux is I am forced into something I really don't want because I want something to occur with a certain power. So I need to pick A to have B turn into C.. But again at the end of the day I am playing a Free game by people doing volunteer work to run it. GOING OFF ON A TANGENT: Mind you I also have a bit of doubt about that as well. Not the free part but no one is doing anything for free and out of the goodness of their heart. I work in IT and I know first hand this whole thing is one a great resume addition. Further many companies including my own look at your outside the company work and volunteering to determine a promotion. This game right now is opening up doors for people's careers. I know many people in my Company that offer their skills for free to other start up companies doing business with ours. I've been told as I mentioned that promotions at times literally came down to the volunteer work these people did because the decision process was that close. BACK ON TRACK Playing Trick arrow with nothing else I can tell you the biggest greatest thing it has is Glue arrow and Igniting Oil Slick. Those 2 things alone are killing groups of mobs. If it didn't have Igniting Oil Slick this set would really suck.. This is the build, having or not having pets does not matter for this discussion but you can get the context of what its all about at least.
  3. Personally.. Tankermind build is the best way to go with Masterminds. Basically you defense cap and take taunt and then use the The Homecoming of Sandolphan's MM Numpad binds! ™️ to make ALL your pets attack a target and just go down the line one by one killing them all off. Usually highest to lowest. That is how I do it. So you have no personal attack powers.. Your job is just to spam taunt and use your secondaries as you control your pets. Trust me controlling the pets is a lot of work. The AI is lacking and they keep running off. I would say a mastermind is not something you want to power level your way up and then try to figure out at 50. The other problem is not all set combination will get you defense cap. As an example Dark will not. It will get you range cap and mid way Melee and AOE then you use darkest night via hit debuff to get the rest of it. My gripe is your relying on an Anchor Mob to do this. But this is true for Dark no matter what archtype you pick it up in. Others have said that using the fear cone and ress power to stun keeps you alive. But mobs still get a shot off before you do it. This is why Range cap is important at least to me in dark set. Again I am a belt and suspenders type of person. Just scroll a few pages and you will find your build.
  4. Beast Mastery / Trick Arrow Range Defense cap. With Incarnates I am doing 4/8 This build went through several variations. Just like with every build I try to max out the settings. This build was a bit tougher because it had debuff but not much DPS. Another issue I encountered was Oil Slick had nothing to light it up and using the taser temp was caused 2 issues. When using Taser if failed to light the Oil Slick it would make the Oil Slick target disappear. I could fire all my arrows at the Oil Slick target without an issue but once I used the Taser temp. BAM it was gone ! - So that was No good. Taser was short ranged and it was putting me into Melee combat range. I wanted to stay thematic but had to pick up fire blast, I changed it Green to try to keep it nature magical like. But was still Green Fire. At that point It just made sense to rework the build max it out a bit more.   5. Doesn't exactly fit the build I like a travel power.. BUT sucked it up and respeced and removed the travel power and Maneuvers and Tactics and picked up Kick, Tough, Weave and Fire Blast

Yea I went Beast and honestly its a Semi Petless build ( Its what I do ) But nothing I have in the build will ignite Oil Slick beyond the charm power and for some reason as I mentioned it is bugged in the sense it makes the Oil Slick target disappear, whereas the firing every single trick arrow at it does not. I have it on a defender and of course it works all the time because I have blazing arrow.
  7. First off Thank you for taking the time to reply back. First time I had someone behind the scene respond to any of my post in the life time I have been gaming. Which is about 30+ years. There should be a Sticky on the top that pretty much says "We are NOT promising ANYTHING and we can retract and take back anything we say" Without going into a long dribble. I come this section every so often and as a casual visitor this part of the website I can tell you much of the request/suggestions are circular. I have seen the same request asked by different people in different variations of the request. Its not a gripe, just an observation. I'm just wondering I guess if anyone is doing with all this data.
  8. Trick Arrow Oil Slick really has a NICE DPS component. Problem is Masterminds do not have a real way to ignite the Oil Slick beyond the taser/charm starting power. Assuming it works. I have been testing it out and if the charm/taser fails to ignite it, the oil slick target disappears. End result you only have one shot at it. Whereas if I fire another trick arrow at it does not disappear. As a matter of fact I can fire all of the other Trick arrows at it. But once the charm/taser is used the Oil Slick target is gone and the use of this power is NOT a guarantee of it igniting. The other issue is this taser/charm is short range, thus if forces you to get into close almost melee range of the mobs. I will eventually look to see if an chance for energy proc will activate the fire component. But couldn't Acid, Poison, Disruption, EMP arrow have some component to allow it to ignite via a chemical or electrical reaction ? I honestly just think its a bit unfair that masterminds have something and are extremely limited in its use.
  9. It would be helpful if the Devs gave the players some feedback. What is Pie in the Sky impossible ? For example I kept reading that Mastermind models were baked in.. Can't be changed.. Forget it not possible. I then come to read on another game server that Mastermind models have been changed. You can use freakshows and other models. So in the end it is possible.. I also understand that limited to no testing might have also been done on these changes causing who knows what issues ( if any ) on that other game server. I know I have posted my ideas several times here repeatedly. I have seen others post my same ideas. I am sure I posted someone else's idea from a week ago without knowing. Sometimes I feel some good ideas ( Not necessarily mine ) get lost because they are just drowned by some impossible or unreasonable request. Some direction isn't bad. EG Devs- We want input on aura's. Community comes in and drops down 100 or more ideas on aura's. Devs - Looking for Whips AT suggestion. Community comes in helps flesh out different whips attacks based on Archtype. You might end up with Stalker Archtype no one was even expecting. I just think it gives the community a goal. It makes people feel like they were part of something grand. Or I could be overthinking this.. I don't know. Just putting it out here, again.
  10. Would be nice the power pools had an option similar to primary powers for different emotes. EG Aid self or Aid Other on a nature themed player sort of gets killed when you pull out this technology device to heal yourself. Just would be nice to have some of these powers less themed specific.

  12. Hey all Trying to understand a few things about Beast Mastery.. Pack Mentality, Fortify Pack and Dire Wolf abilities specifically. Using Mids I see that that the Dire Wolf has a Resistance Buff. Is that for me ? Or the Pet ? Or Both ? When activated in Mids it changes my personal values. How is the time frame for getting 10 stacks of Pack Mentality ? Pack Mentality and Fortify Pack, this is a Pet ONLY buff correct ?

  16. Use the build Nemu posted and you MIGHT be able to do the the Comic con Smash Lethal Farm. The problem is you do not have Smash and lethal resistance capped. But regardless Nemu build is a VERY GOOD build. You are defense capped pretty much. You will be kicking butt with that build.

  18. Whips Kin REDO. Big on Endurance Drain ATM.. Agility Partial Core Revamp And Hybrid Support Core Genome fixed several issues. Melee Defense not being at 45 was causing me issues because I was pretty much in Melee. Now the build is working well and not that endurance hungry. Was doing the Comic Con S/L farm for testing and it works. End result it is a usable build now. I used Force of Will with Whip Kin and it just wasn't working out well. Repel fun power but I'm torn for its value and use and further Endurance cost. But I am keeping Repel for now . I could have taken Boxing and get that cross bonus between Boxing, Kick and Cross Punch. Though I do not know if that accuracy recharge bonus is across all the powers or just Cross Punch or the fighting pool powers specifically. Mid's only shows it working for those powers specifically. Again Repel can be a take it or leave it power. If I could use another Ancillary/Epic to get these numbers it would be nice. Electric Fences holds the mobs from being knocked back for Thunder strike, otherwise there is a chance of no KB. Sometimes I get Knockback. I will take out the One IO from Repel and put it in Thunder Strike six slotting Thunder Strike. change the IO in Repel from force feedback recharge to a DPS IO.   23. Range cap Hover blaster. Doing 3/8 no issues. You don't need to hover if you don't want to. But great for getting out of the way when needed. Had Eagle Eye slotted with 4 heals but actually notice a difference when I changed it over to 2 heals and 2 endurance. Could probably remove the proc from Bon Fire. I use Bon fire all the time. For me the trick I found was to stand a bit off center and to the front of the center of the Bon Fire. Otherwise what occurs is the mobs run past the CENTER of Bon Fire and then get Knocked Back BEHIND the Bon Fire and you. So the center is like the break line in the direction the mobs will get knocked back. If you stand more to the front of the center in the Bon Fire the mobs get knocked back AWAY from you. Its a bit more control and less chaos. I do notice when the Proc goes off because Bon Fire recharges that much faster. Great AOE fun.
