  1. If you think that brutes are less survivable and have less aggro control than scrappers, you’re sorely mistaken. Brutes get the same armor values as scrappers but have higher caps and higher HP, therefore they are at least as survivable as Scrappers. All brute armor sets have a taunt aura, that cannot be said for scrappers (scrapper damage auras don’t have a taunt aspect to them, but some sets, WP and Shield for example, do get a taunt aura). Additionally, brutes get single target punch-voke and access to Taunt instead of Confront. All of these things mean brutes have more aggro control than scrappers. If you think that brutes are squishier than scrappers, it’s most likely because you catch more aggro on a brute.
  2. They do, as do the LotG global recharge. I use those two IOs to their max when using Granite.
  3. Granite is survivable full stop. It’s the penalties (-Damage, -Recharge, -Speed) that you have to more worry about. If you’re going to run a Granite tanker, I recommend Teleport and Assault. You can get away without hasten as long as you build for recharge. Also note that Granite+rooted causes extra -run speed from just Granite, but since granite gives mez protection itself, you really only need rooted for its +regen on hard content. I have built out quite a few Granite tanks that overcome the Granite penalties (except the -Jump and the additional -run of rooted) while also having capped defense and resist to everything other than Psi. Let me know what primary you’re thinking of running and I’ll see if I’ve done one and would be happy to post the build I used.
  4. /macro XP option_toggle noxp
  5. AR/Dev will do more damage but huntsman will be a lot more survivable in the not-endgame, which as a completionist is a fair amount of time.
  6. Assuming you have hurricane ED capped for to-hit debuff, even against +4s you’re getting about 23% debuffs. That means you’re taking ~46% less hits. AND THATS AGAINST +4 Heck, even base slotted, hurricane does a 37.5% debuff against even cons. That means that against even conning enemies, you’re getting hit 75% less than without hurricane. Now, I’m not going to claim that you can or can’t tell the difference a 75% incoming damage reduction makes, but that’s not a negligible amount.
  7. Ah, so *that’s* the reason I see so many level 50 council teams running!
  8. Just going to say if they were to add more powers to the forms, it would make PBs and WSs even more slot hungry.
  9. I am so confused at so much of this thread, so I’m going to just say this: there is exactly 1 support set that doesn’t have any debuffs in it. If debuffs were so bad, there would be more (and the pure buff sets would be what gets played the most)
  10. If you’re slotting sets, you can easily get ED capped Damage with good Accuracy, endurance redux and recharge at the same time, and that’s before set bonuses. Standard SO slotting for attacks is usually 1-2 accuracy, 1 end redux, 3 damage, 0-1 recharge. The cap for hitting is 95% chance. Most people build for 95% against +3 enemies (that’s a base to-hit chance of 48%) but if you’re only going to be fighting even-cons then 1 accuracy will get you over 95% chance for anything that doesn’t have additional defense buffs (which is most critters)
  11. I’d like to add that you can actually build most WP tanks to have soft capped S/L/E/N/F/C/Psi defense and reasonable resists to all as well. in my experience makes you tougher than chasing MaxHP and Regen bonuses
  12. i forgot that you can set Wine version in Lutris. I installed the launcher via Lutris, so that’s no problem. However, like I said, a clean OS install for an unrelated issue fixed my problem. I’ll keep the Lutris thing in my pocket should another issue arise in the future though.
  13. Also, I don’t really want to lose the extra AoE defense that non-sentinels get.
  14. from that very page: seems pretty clear to me
  15. Power Boost is flagged to affect "Terrorized", "Stunned" and "Immobilized" so Fearsome Stare, Howling Twilight and Tenebrous Tentacles should all have the mez durations increased. If they are not, then its a bug.
  16. I've been away from the game for a bit, so I don't remember my exact playstyle, but TA/A has been a favorite of mine for a long time (well before they buffed TA). I've attached my current level 50 build, it has effectively capped defense to Ranged/AoE thanks to the unresistable portion of Flash Arrow (also note that as long as there isn't a proc in it, Flash Arrow doesn't aggro). It's also got Rune of Protection for when things get really dicy. I've also attached a Respec build I apparently planned but never got around to doing. It adds Energize from the Mu Mastery APP for even MORE survivability. As for damage, adding a bunch of recharge to get Oil Slick Arrow and Rain of Arrows up as often as possible is a strong goal to shoot for. 17. Good technical info in this thread, but I want to just point out 1 thing that makes DP the winner in the AR/DP debate... DP has mad style.
  18. wait... wait... I've been gone for 4 months and now Kin hits like a rolled up newspaper? When did *that* nerf happen?
  19. Oh man, can you imagine an SR tank that *doesn't* have a clicky anti-mez AND it has a + Absorb power?
  20. Interestingly, my issue may have been tied to WINE but it’s not inherent to WINE. I had to do a fresh OS install today for an unrelated issue and now the launcher is working normally.
  21. I’m willing to bet it’s a wine issue, as my system upgraded to 10.something automatically. I’ve just spent an hour trying to figure out how to downgrade, but I just keep getting various errors in terminal. I’ve had enough for tonight, I’ll try again in the morning.
  22. Hey you Linux-type people! i just returned from a break and my install is doing something weird that it wasn’t doing back at the beginning of December when i last played… OK… the set up: Fedora 41. I was in GNOME before but recently switched to KDE Plasma (the problem is happening in both though, so I don’t think it’s the DE) The problem: First launch of the game works without any issues. When I quit, if I leave the launcher open, nothing happens when I try to load the game again. Additionally, I can’t close the launcher and I have to force quit it. Then any subsequent runs of the launcher cause the game to load in windowed mode on my 2nd display and no matter what I do, I can’t move it to my primary display. Rebooting or fully logging out and back in fixes the problem until the next time. Any idea what might be causing this?
  23. I think there are quite a few sets that go almost completely unused outside of frankenslotting
  24. I would hate an event that prevented me from using a power I picked. I don't see a reason to create a mode that prevents a travel power from being picked... If you have a character that wants such a mode, simply don't pick a travel power, and don't use the jetpack you get at level 2.
  25. Sure, SG bases are always available. I suspect players that are asking for a memorial would like something a bit more official though. Also, SG bases are Shard bound. I suspect this idea would gain more traction if there were a way to make custom NPCs in base
