  1. The fact that point was made a finite number of times proves that the time loop itself is not infinite. I suggest we nerf infinity to resolve this issue.
  2. hey @JudgementDave @mereman & @Mediscalesgood to see you guys all back. Hit my global @Riff up and we can team up again. Since I've been back here I've discovered a love of... /em cue dramatic music ... Masterminds! 🤯
  3. If you dislike how flux works, go remonstrate with him in the Hollows 😎
  4. Back in the day, before the EU and NA communities were married together, there was a continual cry on the EU forums of "Merge teh servers", specifically Union and Defiant. It was claimed by these posters that the server populations were too small to be sustainable, and that failing to merge them would cause the Dooooooooooooooooom(tm) for the game. This continued despite reasonable responses from official community leads. Then of course the two communities became as one and much cross fertilization happened (sometimes in real life, I'm led to believe but that's a different story) and that argument went rather quiet those who felt they needed to find higher populations moved to places where they had more "Freedom" and could find Virtuous lesbian cat gurls etc. But apparently, it turned out that the numbers for Union and Defiant had not been far behind either of the two main servers all along. Sometimes, Union even became the most populous in terms of concurrent numbers. What was noticeable was that those who seemed to want servers to merge at that time seemed very reluctant to take part in community events and efforts. That in turn prompted me to suspect that the issue isn't server population, but how players engage with said population. I haven't ever felt it to be too difficult to find a team even on "slow" days. The one caveat I'd make with that is the criteria for the magic dots that say how busy a server is seems to be slightly confusing and it would generally be better just to have an "on" or "off" setting and in emergencies a "very high load" but those are very much first world problems.
  5. It clearly does seem to be an issue. I've tried to slot Cloud Senses into it. Mid's Reborn claims it's allowable. Weaken Resolve is tagged as accepting Accurate Defense Debuff in game and it would seem very strange not to have a targetted power that wouldn't accept such an enhancement. I believe this is a bug, rather than mistagging.
  6. Wonderful FAQ thanks for doing it. With regard to entrance room, I understand you cannot delete it, but is it possible in any way to change its size? I would like to make a bigger entrance if at all possible.
  7. I love both but I think in terms of keeping your pets alive Cold has the better shields. Storm is great but when your pets are attacking, it has less to offer than Cold. The caveat is what suits your play style best so why not try both?
  8. A useful, and oft overlooked thing about Caltrops in the early game is that you can slot it with the free Knockdown Prestige enhancement from the moment you get it, adding survivabilty and bonus hilarity to your build from a very early stage.
  9. I disagree. The fan base made a huge noise in 2012 when closure was announced, and anyone in a serious position of power would know that. When they set up a specific email receive complaints, they knew there was a lot of upset happening. The very fact that those at the top continued to shutter a popular (in the West) and profitable game that was making them money demonstrates amply this was not a rational business decision but one borne of arrogance and a message of paternalistic contempt for its customers.
  10. Oh trust me I know all there is to know about altoholsim! But my question stands. Say you pass over 100 mill out of your 2billion, to a new alt, that's more than enough to get your new toon started and then hey presto, Supernewguy is kitted out as you'd want him/her in short order using the above method while OriginalToon 1 goes about doing what s/he always did and gets back up to 2 bill again. Seems that once you have 2 billion, if you're playing at all and not just making a ton of new alts, you won't realistically need more.
  11. really interesting guide. I've not yet put it into practice (I never was a great marketeer, personally) but I have one question, directed at your final warning. If it is so easy to make money and to get the Enhancements you want in game now, why would you need more than 2 billion inf in the first place? It seems that hoarding that amount of cash is little more than Smaugish, or have I missed something?
  12. Whatever NCSoft's reasoning for this, past experience tends to suggest there is nothing about this that's in the playerbase's interest.
  13. 007: A James Bond Mastermind For Your Eyes Only T1 Miss Moneypenny: Bond recieves a call telling him that M is very unhappy with him currently. -20% defence proc to Bond for 120 seconds but it does give a plain ticket to an exotic location (ie a mission transporter with a lifespan of 30 minutes* T2 The Bond Girls A beautiful trio of young ladies appear, dressed variously in bikinis, cocktail dresses and cat suits, and attack the opposition. One is armed with knives, another is an expert at kung fu and other martial arts and the third has a machine gun T3 Q's latest Gadget: Q arrives (in his lab coat) and with the words "Now, pay attention 007" he throws a grenade at the enemy, which has a random effect that can vary from KB to explosion to massive knock up etc etc. Q then departs with the words "I never joke about my work" T4 Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang; Bond kisses the girls and they are upgraded to be twice as effective as previously T5 "Live and Let Die" Bond is equipped with a Walther PPK. A highly damaging ST pistol shot with +75% to hit bonus & +20% range (Bond never misses) T6 Shaken, not stirred; Two Vodka Martinis appear. Every attack they have a chance to confuse, stun and disorient the opposition and have a substantial -to hit secondary effect T7 Heads Up: As the stakes increase, Bond gambles everything and flips coins or rolls dice and turns over cards. His Martinis are upgraded to add a -Def component to their attacks and increase +Res to all attacks T8 This Never Happened to the Other Fella: An Aston Martin DB5 arrives on the scene. It is armed with Rockets, Machine Guns and oil spray that knocks up opponents. T9 "Nobody Does it Better" The Aston is upgraded with bullet proof armour, fog emitters (-to hit for enemies) and an ejector seat. The DB5 prefers to fight at range but when in melee range it has a Mag 100 knockback proc that fires every 40 seconds and can even knock back AVs doing damage and stuns. * Nobody ever actually takes this power but it always seems to happen anyway.
  14. Drones: T1: Pistol Shot - a single shot from a pistol (a la Duel Pistols single shot ) T2: Laser Drones : 3 Drones armed with lasers fly into the fight and start zapping the designated target T3: Empty clip - rapid fire from your pistol T4: Stun grenade (power already exists in game, stuns opponents in an AoE) T5: Upgrade Drone - enables your drones to fly faster, do more damage and improves their defence. T6: Machine Gun Drones (similar to the Malta power) two gatling gun drones fly into the fray unleashing a shed load of smashing damage T7: Improved Ammo: Upgrade the ammunition of your MG drones to different types of ammo, depending on type you want to use. 3 Types available: Explosive, AP and Incendiary (not unlike the DP options with a similar mechanic) T8: Aerial Cannon: A large calibre, heavy damage flying cannon. It has a slow rate of fire but deals massive damage that can stun and/or knock down your target T9: Ugrade AC: Increase the range and damge of AC and includes an AoE stun because of it's high explosive radius.
  15. Dinosaurs; T1 Velociraptors T2 Triceratops (defensive pets) T Rex plus a few other support mechanisms such as knockdown from their stompy actions and also swampy type slows etc.
  16. The Preamble: Meet Slay Belle, the Ultimate Christmas Cracker. I have limited experience of MMs, but this seems to be a joy to play, surivable too from what I can tell, though I have rather rushed the route to 50. Now I'm really getting to know her, and loving every moment. In terms of background I wanted to try something different here on Reunion and something seaonal, and unusually for me I built this in Mid's first. I'd welcome comments and critiques, but on paper at least she seems very very impressive and I am enjoying building her to what seems like could be a very very powerful character. 17. It's an interesting question, but I think others have pointed out that any character can appear to be "weak" against the regular opposition. Personally I prefer the weaker type of protagonist, up against the tougher opponent. One of my favourite comic characters is Daredevil for exactly that reason and conversely I really actively dislike Superman, because unless his opponent has a healthy dose of kryptonite up his sleeve, he's toast. It's also worth remembering you do have inherent powers to boost your minions, be they pets or henchmen, so it's not unrealistic to say if you're of Magic origin you enchant them or if Tech you upgrade their gear etc so they are then able to cope with said opponent. There's also another option, if you can do it, which is simply not to worry about it. Don't overthink it and enjoy playing the character for its own sake, and if that doesn't work, just let your imagination run wild. Your character's story is yours to own, so do what you think works for you.
  18. This feels like a bug, but perhaps it's simply odd behaviour. I am running a Demons/Cold MM, and when I buff them with shields, Ice & Glacial is fine until we go through an instance door. At that point the shields turn off for my pets. However, they remain in place on fellow team mates who've received the same buff. Is this working as intended because it seems somewhat odd? If it works for player characters but not pets, it seems silly at the very best. If I have to buff anyone I'd think it would be the players not my pets.
  19. Just run Posi 1 & 2, back to back, once I hit 50 and didn't get a Notice of the Well. I did run a Tarikoss before I was 50 a couple of days back but obviously couldn't claim a NotW then. Is that normal? Should I not get it now I'm 50 and incarnate is unlocked?
  20. Interesting point. some good comments in this thread too. I guess it all depends on what you want your AT to be. The OPs toon will be largely keep everything away and murder everything that's not EB/AV. But it's not really got the debuffs to take the big buggers down. One of the things I lovelovelove about Trollers is their variety. Different power combos give a totally different feel to the character, far more so than with other ATs I find and their strengths and weaknesses will very much depend on what sets you've chosen and your playstyle with that toon. Personally I find I play best with debuffs and lockdowns - my Earth/Ice is a case in point, but you can do lots of damage with Illusion or Fire when paired with other complimentary sets. I had a lot of fun with a Fire/TA without following the typical Fire/Kin or Fire/Rad methodology. I also find I make a massive impact on smaller teams. Don't forget the game is significantly easier with the introduction of Incarnates, and even tough TFs pre I23 are relatively simple now. But if you get a smaller team, say 3, 4 or 5 you'll notice your magic working much more obviously. I'd suggest the OPs toon as it stands is to provide a protective barrier for his team - nothing gets to them if he's on the ball but I'd also urge him/her? to experiment with other types and see where they go.
