  1. I wonder if @Yomo Kimyata was thinking what I am thinking right now.
  2. ^No, it is not. Praetorians, who have passed the enclosure, behave like blue or red siders. Thanks to @Darmian for helping me verify it. For short: gold can't search blue or red unless they are in First Ward, Night Ward, or Pocket D. However, just because they can't search each other don't mean they can't join a team. For example, Dark Astoria, Kallisti Wharf, and all praetorian zones allow them to join or invite a member. In the example above, Luigi can invite the gold sider into his team. I assume this applies to Rikti War Zone too. Sadly, since gold siders can't go to DA, KW, or RWZ, teaming up with toons in those zones makes no sense. --- Additional Note: I guess (aside from the three zones above) blue and red can search and team up in Midnight Club, Crimerora, Dark Astoria, Kallisti Wharf, and RWZ. That off-limit rule to the gold siders makes searching and teaming up a little bit weird. ---
  3. Praetorian can not search Hero/Villain unless both characters are in Co-op Zone(First Ward, Night Ward, or Pocket D). The opposite is also true (Blue/Red can't search Gold outside Co-op Zone). Example: Luigi is a blue sider, the lady is a gold sider I multi-boxed a gold and a blue sider, and I noticed something weird. A hero with a Praetorian origin is invisible to my blue sider but visible to my gold sider. All three were outside Co-op Zone. Sadly, I didn't have a screenshot. Could anyone verify this? Did I goof up? Is the limitation still applies after a gold sider switch to red side/blue side via rift enclosure?
  4. A very belated answer: The crate contains a note from Mender Valen. You have to complete the story arc beforehand to get the note, or you will get a "You Can't Complete This Objective Yet" message.
  5. Since Praetoria has unified the Earth, the statement is true. However, whether or not they truly control every square kilometer of their territory is another matter.
  6. Running Sheldon's Crown of Glory Nice throne. I'll take it.
  7. Indeed, Probably the dev thought only a few would mess with tab menu, so they didn't put any confirmation whatsoever.
  8. To add a Global Tab: Right click on the chat window, you will see a menu: Select Add Tab Enter a name for your new tab (preferably "Global") Select all these channels (16 channels). You need to select a channel from the list, press the Add button, and then repeat for every channel . Set local channel as default by pressing Set Default button. Press OK. Adding a Help Tab is similar, populate your Help Tab with these channels: To fix the lower part of chat window: Using mouse, select and hold Chat Tab, then drag it to the lower portion of the window. By the way, I also have accidentally deleted those tabs too many times.
  9. Select Menu > Chat or Press "C"
  10. I suddenly have this on my mind: everyone sees the boss is almost dead, so everyone ignores him and pushes forward. What's the point, they thought. Cue a lonely almost-dead boss trying to keep up with the rest of the team, who were trying to kill him earlier.
  11. Did you notice a performance gap between your team and that guy? Maybe that's the reason he or she became unhappy. I had a similar experience back in the live server. I was a free player, so my toon's build was severely limited. Still, I got lucky and teamed up with those souped-up toons. I should be happy, right? Not really. They split up and doing what you said earlier. This type of engagement was a problem for me. I couldn't attack a mob alone, so I tailed someone and gave them fire support. I did this while hoping those lieutenants/bosses would ignore me. Of course, they would not always do that. So, I often kite/retreat after a few shots. Otherwise, they would get my toon before my friend could kill them. I managed to survive that mission, but that wasn't fun. You see, in a group, someone would eventually take the aggro away from my character or (often) kill my target before it killed me. Good thing that guy quits. It's not a sin, but I don't think everyone has enough time to do a proper build.
  12. I wish CoH had more minigames.
  13. I remember a fragment of a song years ago, but I forgot the title. It starts with "No way November can see our goodbye.. ", followed by Christmas, New Year Resolution, Valentine, and finally " .. I'll be alright until St. Patrick's Day". So, why is St. Patrick's Day? A day for new relationship? (I am a Catholic, but we don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day here).
  14. You guys won't believe this. I ran the first two First Ward arcs, Praetoria's zone events, and Emperor's Sword using build #2 and build #3 (+0/x1). I multi-boxed so that I could compare their performances. The result: they bulldozed every opposition, excluding Praetor Sinclair. Just stand some feet away from a mob and start blasting. That's it. You don't have to kite, and active defense is not mandatory. Because of shorter recharge time, enemies who manage to reach them are full of holes. Also, their attack is less effective due to a high level of damage resistance. Still, there are some limitations. A +1 boss with ranged attacks can deal significant damage because they can hit right away. The damages from +1 enemies can add up, so fighting in the middle of an aggroed mob is not a good idea. Fortunately, most of the ambushes are +0. Last but not least, fighting a +3 archvillain without a team is a big no-no.
  15. Thanks for the writing, @Nayreiaand the writing team! I love the new contents! In First Ward, the tips usually drop after I have defeated a dozen or so bad guys. Although sometimes I have to defeat a hundred before it drops, it only happens twice (from eight tips). Overall, its pretty quick. May I know the exact number? Is it 1-3%? Also, is it possible to have more than one tips? Do I have to finish it before I get another tip mission?
  16. It means the model works. Because I set accuracy, recharge, recovery, and resistance as constraints, ILP will never consider other stats (damage, defense, etc.). It would be annoying if I want a few resistance bonuses, but the ILP gives me a damage bonus instead. If someone wants damage bonuses, they can put that as a constraint, and ILP will select appropriate enhancement sets to satisfy it. I wish I could! Creating a matrix with hundreds of rows and columns manually is slow and prone to error. Duh! Sorry, not sorry! Also, I run those builds on Beta Server. My build (somehow) works by the way, even with all those limitation.
  17. I tried ILP again on a level 50 blaster with the same primary and secondary. It produced better results since it has more empty slots to optimize. Those slots also allow me to increase multiple attributes by more than 10%. In my opinion, ILP can help you cut down trial and error and produce build quickly. I limit my selection to uncommon and rare enhancement sets since they are more likely to drop and cheaper than purples. I remove any enhancement sets not suitable to my character to simplify the model and then select a few properties to increase. The table below lists the results after a few tweaks. Build Description Accuracy Recharge Recovery Resist S/L 1 Balanced 34% 28.75% 28% 28.25% 2 Rapid 45% 62% 15% 25% 3 Defensive 49% 15% 10% 51.25% ILP suggestion for build #3. They are all uncommon and rare. Imagine the numbers if I put purples. Set slot assign to Kinetic Crash 3 single shot Thunderstrike 2 single shot Analyze Weakness 6 cutting beam Thunderstrike 2 disintegrate Adjusted Targeting 6 Aim Rope A Dope 5 lance shot Executioner's Contract 5 penetrating ray Bombardment 3 piercing beam Detonation 2 piercing beam Analyze Weakness 6 overcharge Trap of the Hunter 5 time wall Essence of Curare 4 time stop Adjusted Targeting 6 Chronos Preventive Medicine 2 Temporal Healing Doctored Wounds 2 Temporal Healing Dark Watcher’s Despair 4 Time Shift Tempered Readiness 2 Time Shift Titanium Coating 4 Time Lord Aegis 4 Invulnerability Titanium Coating 4 Tough Titanium Coating 4 Power of Nature edit
  18. I didn't notice that! Thanks! *hastily redrawing scatter plot*
  19. Recently, I also disconnected from the map server. At first, my character became sluggish. I typed Netgraph and it showed red spikes. I pinged the server to check my connection. It was OK. Server status (Reunion) was also OK. I can log back in just fine. But whenever I select Reunion server, my game is stuck, and then it brings me back to the login menu. Even if can select the Reunion server and my character, my connection will deteriorate in a minute or so. In the end, the game disconnects me. Help? edit I can select other shards just fine, but the reunion. However server status said that reunion is OK. Oops nope nevermind
  20. @Yomo Kimyata Thanks 🙂 If my objective is simply to increase my accuracy so that every attack has 95% hit chance, I don't even need those additional slots! Talk about cracking nuts with a hammer. Its an overkill and most of the nuts are destroyed, too!
  21. @Yomo Kimyata That works too. 1x Lv.13 SO accuracy for each power. I guess, IO sets only works when you have enough empty slots. Otherwise, it is useless.
  22. I think that is what I am trying to do. I followed your advice and it is good. Now I have 123 % accuracy bonus and 7% beginner luck. Which results all but one of my attacks has 95% Chance to Hit against +0 critters or 93% Chance to Hit against +1 critters: Your advice works, and at glance it is much better increasing accuracy than defense.
  23. Usually I rely on Common IO and inspirations. It worked quite well, both of my gold side blasters reached Lv.50 with that strategy alone. Still, I'd like to try something new (enhancement set), but from your opinions, its clearly neither effective nor efficient. Especially on low level. My problems come from location based ambush. Often not enough inspiration to run away or fight back. Still, a few trips from hospital and I eventually complete the mission. Thanks and noted, guys!🙂 I ll go easy on those enhancement sets. Also, @Yomo Kimyata? I run my solver again, but I am using Accuracy Bonus as constraints. Shield Break, Gladiator Javelin and Encouraged Accuracy. Expensive? Yes. But it is effective to hit that 95% HitChance on +0 (89% on +1). That's still not counting Acc bonus for each power.
  24. Assuming I run all Imperial story arc. Maybe 2-3% increase won't matter, especially against ambushes. Usually, I don't bother much about enhancement set. I use common IO to increase my defense stat and inspirations all the way to 50. So, maybe around 30s? I assume at this point, there are enough slots to soft cap my defense and enough inf to respec it, just in case i need to respec.
  25. Let's say that my blaster wants to increase her defense via enhancement sets because she is squishy and has been bitten too many times by Ghouls. Since she is level 10, her options are limited. She has: six powers (The seventh power has no additional slot yet, so she omits it.) eight additional slots According to the wiki, there are 17 enhancement sets which compatible with her current level, available powers (Beam/Temporal), and have defense bonuses. She needs to pick several enhancement sets to cover all her defense stats (excluding psionic, because no enhancement set has a psionic bonus on level 10.). Since she is short on cash, she has to minimize her selection. So, I modeled this problem, solved it using an LP solver, and tried it on Brainstorm Server. It turns out she can cover all her defense using four sets of enhancement. However, three of them are rare enhancements. So, I guess it is still a bit expensive. What do you guys think? Is it OK to spend your cash for these additional defense bonuses?
