  1. I liked a LOT of what Sir Myshkin said. I would say that there are just not enough cones on Corruptor to go there
  2. I still remember my first experiences on Gold. It was challenging. The mechanics were just a bit hinky on some storylines but a very good job using CoH basic to tell “segmented” “player choice affected” arcs. I flat out hated the politics, and still do. Even worse they made an attempt to frame some of it as a philosophical discussion. And failed. (Which actually reinforces the political angle). They did a pretty solid job of telling the stories and wrapping it up. I suppose more content past Night Ward would look like….Shadow Shard. Finish two unfinished things at once… Another power pool? Okay if you insist 🙂

  8. I like cones and recently switched from Dark to Fire as a primary, losing one cone. But the added flexibility is worth it. I still have 5 cones. One from Fire, one from Mental, one from Force of Will, and two from Soul Mastery. But then i have a ranged ball attack for when a cone is just hard to place My preference is still to get to main spawn lined up in a cone thoroughfare of hate. With a lot of global +range that makes cones juicy and never running out of another cone. But the flexibility is really appreciated for when you do not have time to line up the cones Once you have "enough" cones to be virtually endless... 3 5 6 7 ??? You need to start talking about effectiveness. Overall damage, damage TYPES secondary effect, Knockdown, immobilize, and how that works with your attack strategy Only then will you be the Master on Cones
  9. I did not enjoy the SSA, but it was as much technical as anything. The writing of the plot was plodding. Normal for almost all games. The missions with their intricate mechanics not supported by the game very well….bleh. There are some good, great even, arcs. The Radio. Just a hoot, and does not need to use anything you do not use for newspaper missions. The Slot Machine. Redside writing tends to be better than Blue. Gild maybe slightly better but again trying to ise gimmicks so many times instead of plot. Personally I hate the plot Goldside with all the political crap. But I will hive it a maybe better than Red because they tried so hard and did good work. I just hate the subject matter and cannot judge
  10. Dark Mental Dark has 2, then Mental 1. Add Force of Will, 1 Cone, add Soul Mastery 2 Cones. 6 Cones total
  11. I actually went with a Fire/Mental/Force of Will/Soul Mastery build for this. This gives me 5 (FIVE!) cones of varying damage types. Then a ranged ball and a bunch of ST ranged....AND a full PBAoE experience with the Fire Nuke, the Mental PBAoE attack, and the PBAoE sustain. Since this is SO I have Noooooo Defense. Which is why I was asking about strategies. I like the toon so much (and crawl teams are once a week...) that I built a second one on I/O, still no defense, and am just having a Blast.
  12. I am very happy with the high end 20 year old Stratocaster Ultra and the $100 (brand new price) black “beater” Gibson I have. Damn you for making me want another guitar!!!!
  13. If any of you have looked at my Blaster builds you know I tend to build for ranged defense. Preferably with a ranged set like Elec, Ice. Beam, etc. I recently started a Fire Mental with....NO defense. Just building for ACC, Rech, and maximum lulz. There have been faceplants. But I am getting a nice rhythm going with a team usually now. (Still experiencing some floor time). Now I can tell when I can unleash and when my itchy button finger must wait. When to stay at range and AoE (5 cones and a ranged ball) or when to jump in for the PBAoE madness. Right now at 42. How is this strategy affected at 50, in Incarnate Trials, and with the new content? Time will tell. OR you guys will! Can a defenseless Blaster use wise avoidance to get past most high end game situations. Or do I have to rebuild as a Blastank?
  14. I am playing this new fire mental blaster Demon. I knew i liked it when i had to tromp over and do the tedious task of killing a bunch of Paragon citizens just to keep him “happy.”
  15. Yes exactly. Although Range enhancers already serve one function in the power. I am not adverse to a a range enhancement doing both jobs. It is not a normal thing in the game, although i can think of other odd enhancement oddities

  19. All three of the arcs TraumaTrain mentioned are excellent. The Radio missions are in particular a wonderful story arc. They take you from port oakes to cap au diable and introduce you to where your villain really is in the redside hierarchy. The Slot Machine is a very short and strangely bittersweet twilight zone type arc. The TV is just evil and fits well with wrapping up the villain journey
