  1. I blissfully ignore all this. I craft every recipe. I hoard rare salvage but once in a while buy it iff the auction. Then i start converting. Then i sell. I ignore everything except the rewards and i tend to reserve price in the 70-85% of average selling prices. and I am happy
  2. Yeah, i have not downloaded the new MiDs yet. My gaming time is mostly 1) solo entire game project 2) SG events. As I near 50 with my Dark/Invul Brute project I plan on 3 builds. 1) Solo/Stealth 2) team/Taunt 3) master run bulletproof tanky thang I have ideas and old builds that sort of aim at these, will be tweaking and finalizing soon
  3. Oh I love it. Probably one of the strongest Brutes I have. Just not great for being the main agro controller
  4. It does not suppress ( at least all evidence in play indicates it is operating fully)
  5. I have a Dark/Dark Brute I ran as a main for about half last year. Yes, it does a GREAT job at damage mitigation through crowd control. I have penned a couple diatribes on the fact Dark gets more mileage out of mezze than it ever will out of more defense. So I chase resist and accuracy on that build. (One of the mezze auras is garbage accuracy out of the box… Having said that the Dark Armor is not perfect for team agro management. This is due to the other great protection of Dark Armor. Semi stealth. You can be eating 17 mobs 30 feet away from all their friends and no one gives a crap. No one sees you. Maybe with a taunt bot build it would be a little better. Once they are in your circle they are constantly agro’d by 3 auras. But it is not perfect for grabbing attention in large battles in my opinion
  6. I saw him in Fort Darwin when he was just Atter Boy
  7. my goal is to knock out 35-39 by end of January and I am well on that pace or better. I made some New Years resolutions that are time consuming. Then 40-44 by end of February. I am realtively sure it will be done sooner. Once I finish all content in those ranges I PL to 50. Then I start incarnate work and soloing all the 35-50 content....which will take a loooooong time lol. I do have 10 Transcendant Merits on the character and will no doubt have a couple more before I 50. So T4d in a matter of hours lol
  8. I solo’d a lot if the game in a Dark/Dark Blaster. Every Blaster will play different. Dark has great to hit debuffs and if you like cones and take Soul powerset you get total 4 cones. Ut it is not a fast killing set. Just safer. A Perma dom might be able to handle +2, or x8. Maybe if you get good with it even both? But you going to be working hard lol
  9. As is First Ward and Night Ward. My current run is at 39. I have completed all Red content 1-39, Blue 1-34, and Gold 1-30. Any contacts that can be put off are 35-50 will be run at 50…. I have been grinding this since mid-October (got Halloween badges) and it has been…tough. Blueside is long, boring, and annoying. Countless missions with 12+ glowies or save people and when you do they say “now kill all”. Countless “go kill 30-40 x mob”. It’s a slog
  10. yeah, as pointed out that was a pencil sketch build. i am focused more on bringing energy resists up than i am on psi. my final build will reflect that. just showing what sets get you there
  11. I have an Invul / Dark Tank. It is, indeed, tougher. I want to compare it as a Jagd Tiger Tank compared to a regular Tiger Tank from WW2. With the Jagd Tiger being the fixed turret self propelled gun Tank killer “Tank build” and the regular Tiger being the fully articulated regular turret “standard” King Tiger “Brute build”. The comparison breaks down quickly in that in CoH the Tank has way better AoE and arcs of fire, especially noticeable on Shadow Maul but so effective everywhere. Quite jealous in my Brute. And…the second breakdown is the Brute does the more damage. Hmmmm. I may have the example inverted lol. But the armor values are higher on the Tank. Just been a long slow journey soloing the game on the Brute. It would only have been more painful on a Tank…
  12. Invulnerability has "some" Endurance Drain Resist and Recovery Debuff resist in Resist Energies. keep in mind most Invul builds are running nice defenses. You gotta lay a glove on me before you get my end bar! But my favorite pairing is Dark/Invul. Oh! You finally got to my End bar. Hmmm.... Dark Consumption. Have a Ghetto PBAoE and thanks for a full End Bar back! Next.... It bears saying that this is another overlooked area of the “Psi hole”. Very few psi attacks are pure psi and untyped. Invulnerability tends to run high defenses. Layered mitigation. Psi still needs to hit before it applies its mostly full affect to Invul. That tends to not happen often
  13. and a third option (I do neither of the above) I build for extreme tankiness in the areas that Invulnerability already excels. Here is an example of this type of thinking. In reality I made a few errors puttering around on this last year. Including not taking smite. (!) But also not overcapping S/L to 100% (I now realize Res is it's own red def) But the build was a quick throw together to see what Rune of Prot adds. The base set placement is solid and a good example of what i strive for. The Heal/End Hami-O in Dull Pain are placeholders for the Heal/Rech that just came into the game. 9 I just tweaked this part, gained a slot!) 14. Heh. In the scene the quote is from the "turning on the light" reveals the vampires undead pallor under an electric light with all it's penetrating power. But no sunlight, no.
  15. This is not a troll post. Sigh. We can’t begin this way. Let me turn on the light. ( bonus points to anyone who caught the vampire reference) Psi Hole on Invulnerability CANNOT be fixed. In my opinion. Trying to do so is resource consuming and works at cross purposes to making a good build. I recently saw a couple friend’s chatting in SG chat and one was telling the other to make sure they put 5 +3 psi res globals on the build. I wisely decided not to jump in. A vampire raving about stupid mortals while the blood lust is on them will convince no one Psi is really a small portion of the game. There is an accolade power that gives a brief window of protection every ten minutes. There is Dull Pain and Oranges. Just fall into Scrapper mode during really tough Psi heavy task forces. Invulnerability Brutes are used to tanking. Once in a while you need to change gears Tiger Tank. Again, build to the strengths if your primary and secondary. Do not twist yourself in knots to get a build that can moderately handle Psi. If you desperately need to Tank Psi grab a Dark Armor. My Dark Armor Brute stands in the pink and purple patches of the Minds of Mayhem trial and laughs
  16. I think a lot (too much) about statistical weighting. Where did the data come from? what type of builds posted for what reason? For instance you could do this with Brutes. But the data would be very skewed if all the posts were farm builds. It would be very different if you had a group of very good builders and all requested them to build with a single goal in mind. Quite differen t to grab some random group of data and call the results something useful. While I know this is not a homework assignment it is impossible to determine the usefulness of the data output without knowing what the input was. Tastes great, by the way, what went in the sausages again?
  17. I know right ? I never realized. Then i looked at the number. If you cant eat that end cost on your build without help you need more tinkering than mitigation of that crash would give you
  18. This used to be me. Especially on my Brute. But even when I switched to Dark/Dark Blaster I would fly for the corners of the map at the word “crackle”. Now….. not so much. I step out to around where I guess 80 is? Look for crackles. See if my health bar is plummeting (invisible). Even comfortable cozying up to a crackle (not too close) but I am concentrating on keeping damage up. Period. After crackles over I like to zoom into middle of league and use Destiny Rebirth and pop a couple team incarnate damage inspirations. Seriously that first minute means so much. You get through two crackles with most of league grinding him down and you are almost done. The alternative strategies are, no disrespect, inferior
  19. So many good things. Fixing Energy Melee! Thank you! Tweaking Tanks! Stares at my old SS Brutes…..now if you could just….. The new Hami Os that give me a Heal /Rech option! About a zillion other things. oh, and glad they fixed that bug where the game disappeared off the face of the planet!
  20. The P2W end power temp is easily iverlooked and provides an incredible backup in hard fights
  21. Another story that was well told was the red side Johnny Sonata arc. Just great storytelling.
  22. Most people that gravitate to Brutes seem to have a concept in mind. In my opinion. What might seem like one of the most mindless archetypes… well maybe it is a pick based on feeling. There are some sets that perform better than others sure…. Most of us sort of know whats what. But our ‘decision’ tends to be a gut choice based on how we want to smash. My two cents
  23. Lol. Some people use targeting macros for stuff like sappers. Two things 1) i never figured tge Fing things out 2) what do you do with a roomful of freak superstunners? This is why even my squishies play dirty. Dark/Dark Blaster. Stealth….Nuke (has a massive to hit debuff if you live). Ice/cold Corruptor… fully ranged. Softcap ranged defense. Stays way out if the combat zone But the Dark/Invul Brute. Heh. The more the merrier.
  24. Yeah I am currently maining a Dark Invulnerability Brute. Go for my end bar. No really, it’s funny. If you actually manage to make headway I will zap two or three of the mobs with Dark Consumption and fill it back up…
