  1. Is this a good power? How should I slot it. (do NOT say recipes...) thanks
  2. I use a Razer 20 key pad and a razer mouse. They are meh. The keypad is the only one like it, but i am using it less and less right now. I agree the software is buggy as crap. They actually conflict with each other because one version of their software supports one, another version the other. Like....you idiots cannot even coordinate your own product line? and you are in computer devices? really? omfg.
  3. When i do my “solo all Redside” which includes every contact and every mission Port Oakes is one of my favorite places The introductory arcs in Mercy are pretty good. But in Port Oakes you start to ease into being a super villain. The family has a number of story lines there. Where better to learn that mooks with machine guns got nothing on a Super Villain? Yes to Mr Bocor. The battle with the Sea Witch was actually quite harrowing on live with just SOs and no idea what to do lol. The Radio. F ng Epic! Veluta is great. The entire Fort Hades Ghost trapping is ....challenging. It was especially a pain before the changes. Now it is just the right amount of flavor in all a well done zone. Redside does not have as many choices per level range as Blue. But it sure has quality
  4. But really 4 pts of KB prot should mitigate 95% of that stuff in game. 1-3 is not great. 4 is good. 5-7 is about the same as 4
  5. Most of KB mitigation in this build is high ranged defense and to hit debuffs. Even some of my Brutes roll with 4 pts ( my Dark Dark Brute i mained for 6 months, a resist armor at that). another key element is flying. The character is always flying. KB when flying is a pirouette. Then you can attack again
  6. i mostly take pools for mules and utility. i take kick when i need fighting pool and to me it is only useful to mule a +rech basically i am saying it hardly matters to me the underlying stats on these mediocre powers. i like the recent changes to stealth and fly. sets i use a lot i was less than happy with RoP changes but i am not running Brutes much anymore. Still, it was a rough change to high recharge builds.

-blinks- -snickers- let's break this down princess. I do not demand anything. I made a very slightly Snarky (registered Trademark, pat pending) response to your vague reply. You came back with a question about me not understanding recipes. Mock you? I don't even know you. Buy me a cup of coffee first. geez. Didn't go my way? Is life supposed to go a certain way? No one ever showed me that part. Things happen, other things happen. It is when the reactants react to form products that have a different intellectual formula that art shows itself to be more than wall covering, lumps of material, or random letters jumbled together. Thank you for your mashing. Your efforts have not been without some success. I am amused.
  8. I prefer Ice Ice, for me it is so much easier. But, it is not spectacular. It is a "support blaster" I do Dark/Dark for my vamp theme. Dark/Dark and Dark/Mental are almost exactly the same. I feel (my perception) they do more damage and are more effective than ice/ice. THose to hit debuffs really let you unleash from PB range. My Dark/Dark is nearly a BlasTank. But it is a lot of work and feeding the end bar is a constant battle. But it is the most damaging thing I run. It is on my books to try a Fire/Electric. supposedly one of the most effective Blappers. Not in my theme book but you may look at that. Good luck.
  9. The great thing about having either the 4 or 5 cones is if PB is too hot you can just sit at 40-60 and train a fire hose of AoE on the spawns. One is always up. Problem lining up a cone? Not when you have an endless chain of them. You will dial it right in. It is a little labor intensive but it seems similar to Ices big DoT AoEs. Stuff will melt. Then for hard targets you have ST. When it recharges jump in to Nuke (with Dark a massive to hit debuff). Grab some other PB madness then jump out to either cone or St

  12. Hmmmm. I rarely backtrack on Snark. Not really going to this time either. If i wasn't on your global ignore list before I probably am now. But I seriously did not read past your first three paragraphs and into the RULES! Then I posted Snark and moved on. For this I do apologize. You have a serious story. You ability to write about it in a compelling way is noted. So I will share a bit. I do not ignore anyone. I will team with anybody. Do not ask why, I honestly have no idea myself. There is great successes. There are....well, mistakes are made. When i see someone post something like "my ignore list is so big..." (how I read it) I am like "toss me on there as well" I am a lowbie villain. in every sense of the word. petty small vindictive, opportunistic. These are my good qualities. The only way I exclude people is by pushing them away. I honestly hope you are doing better physically. That is all we can hope for, is to progress to being a little better. My physical difficulties are not as extreme as yours. But I do have a few, not the least of which is advancing years. So from one petty villain to someone who writes a compelling narrative (when I finally take time to read it) I wish you the best, in game, and in life.

Seriously? So your advice was “put enhancers in it” with supplemental info they should be anything that is crafted? thanks. I do understand that powers need to be enhanced. I also realize sets of enhancements from recipes tend to be better than single origin enhancers i was looking for more specific information. Like, is the power bad good or great. I am learning people perceive it to be good. If i did take it how would i enhance it. Please do not say “with recipes” again. Funny. Not as helpful though
  14. I would love something like this. But as you pointed out scheduling... life happens. my SG does about an hour+ or a redside crawl and a blueside crawl each week. 1-50. In 40s now. There are plans for a goldside crawl next. i would love a hard charging small group that ran content like this. I have run Redside from 1-50 as a completionist project a few times. But, interest and long term scheduling Good luck on tour project.
  15. I am viewed as either extremely conservative or extremely liberal depending on the opinionated nutjub who is commenting. But whether liberal or conservative let me just say..... "Oh hell no!" I am so glad we have a (in my opinion) fair minded group of folks working behind the scenes. That this game and these forums are a safe and welcoming place. This goes beyond what the Devs and Moderators do. This is due to the community that congregate here. Even my Snarkiness is mostly relegated to starting forum posts that are screeds against Invulnerability's tier 9. Which should be changed. Just sayin'. So a big thank you to our community for being a place where we welcome anyone who comes here. Thank you for making a safe place for creators, artists, people who society does not have patience with, for the different, the odd, and even us villains. We even allow vanilla heroes a place....for now.

thanks. the howl actually fits the horror werewolf motif. i quote one of the campy vampire movies from the 80s. "Children of the night....shut up!" I left it off the build due to not having any slots to put into it. although my global recharge is mid 140s pre hasten. so i will be revisiting some slotting and possibly adding it back in.
  17. Good editors always insist writers use this format for things like news stories. I think they call it reverse pyramid or pyramid. Make the story in the first paragraph, short as possible. Then start adding information that is supplemental.

6 slot it for recipes.... this means something. I am almost sure it does
  19. If you mean me if i was any more archaic i would still be on a manual typewriter. Damned nice feel to those things too

is this the exact same power for controller and dominator? is it any good? can you just throw an accuracy in it and not slot it and let it rando fight as it will?
  21. you can still take afterburner in fly during a respec. is this just a mule slot or is there a purpose? because it is automatic now... Fly > Afterburner Now built into Fly as a free secondary (server tray) power that doesn't require a power pick If you already had Fly, you will now also have Afterburner for free Now a timed toggle (30s duration, 60s cooldown) which increases your flight speed cap by a further 25% (to 102.27mph), and speeds you up significantly No longer applies Only Affect Self or any other effects Evasive Maneuvers has inherited most of Afterburner's old defensive effects Added a Minimal FX customisation theme Null the Gull will allow you to hide Afterburner's pop-up tray
  22. That was a normal time on live. You can get a celerity+stealth and cram it into the inherent run. That and a small purp will let any Brute run to the end of a map unless you are +4 Rikti or some such nonsense Dont feel bad. I have seen these go past two hours. It is only recently that sub 1:30 times became common or do feel bad. Sure
  23. Yeah when i first looked at Dark Dark i was seriously flummoxed because the AoE hold is not until mid 20s. I was like....until then i do what? Now i have ran the build through Posis and Synapse i know to lean into the Fear and Stun AoE and the to hit debuffs. Works very nice. Of course i keep this up even after i get the AoE hold. I see my job as team combat control specialist and try to screw with as many enemies as i can as often as i can. Pure mischief maker
  24. I have firmly painted myself into a corner by insisting that the character is Dark Dark Soul. Now I am trying to wall crawl out without touching the floor. Spiderman I am not. So on my mids and the example build i post there is hover and afterburner and such for muling LOTG. But those are gone from in game right? They are just rolled into one power in each pool? Umbra Beast. I do not love the Hell Hound. I can deal with it. i do love Blues and Robert Johnson's story. Just not a vampire thing per se. I have it unenhanced, without any but 2 slots, and would drop it in a heartbeat unless someone insisted it was a necessity for the build. I left a pick off my build in case i got advice on how to get another LOTG on. I could slam Dark Embrace, but I have no Resistances or Defenses. Why start now. Stay sly and only deal with what you can deal with. My Blaster ranged softcap this is not... My build is first. Another build I looked at for ideas is second: again, thanks for any tips. 25. Back on live i would quit Bruting from time to time and run a Dom for a while. Almost always a Grav Nrg. Build perma with purps and lotgs. i have done a lot of Bruting and Tanking on HC. I just slid into a Dark/Dark Blaster main after a couple months experiments. It is not the easiest Blaster but i feel i am getting good with it now i am experimenting with stuff for an upcoming slow leveling team. Only thing is i am starting to suspect i have really been playing a Dom sideways to how good players use them my 50 build i made in mids is heavily influenced by my live builds. Lot of purps, high rech, no defense to speak of. But then i find myself plinking at targets with ST attacks. (Now at 40 and so possibly a mid build crisis). But i started to think i may need to run controllers a bit just to understand Doms better. I line up my big controls and lay those down pretty good. But should i be more concerned with slapping ST and soft small controls after that or start DPS? (In huge fights, i can figure it for small groups) alao on Dark/dark do i build the ST heal/damage for damage. Because i saw a great build that slapped in a heal set. Leading me to think i may be enhancing....for a different playstyle thanks for any insight
