yeah, i respeccd out of it and added 10% global rech in doing so. that proc and the set bonuses (i had it split 3/3) are not worth the investment on this toon. thanks everyone.

thanks. this solved an issue that started about a month ago for me. it is hard to describe, really annoying, and basically weird. glad is over.

I play ranged 80-90% time. I do a drive by pbaoe chain once every minute or so. Other than that i am ranged. (4 cones) and doing ST and ranged aoe hold/debuffs. the Orb is a pet. But i cant find details on it. Is it a melee pet? Is it strong? Is it just a fiery special effect and about as useful as the brute + fury ato proc? ( not at all…). I have it in fearsome stare, a cone. It does not proc often in there at all.

Yeah i am rethinking using the meh ato set. I like the global buffs to control, but the duration really is beyond anything necessary.

The only thing I do not like about this is the rainbow effect of Domination and the glow of Gather Shadows. i have the entire thing carefully colored with black and the sickly yellow/ochre on the near the far left just under orange. You have to alternate it on each power to get the right effect, not apply to all. The reason I like the Dom is you buff NO ONE. Unlike Corr/Trollers/Def. Heal no one. I do respect and utilize Dark debuffs. I lean into to hit debuffs, fears, stuns, and made sure Tar Patch and Darkest Night were on the build. The thing is as "Corruptor Adjacent" as I can make it without everybody whining about me not following them like a puppy spamming Dark Heal so they can walk into walls and spawns while cramming hot pockets into their head. I play as ranged as possible. I go into melee in a planned fashion to PBAoE then book it. If the fight swarms me then I have the PBAoE chain ready. I did not mule powers. Each power pick is like gold to me. i would rather have Leadership assault and buff myself and the people on the team/league nearest me than mule a LOTG in a dead pick like infiltration. The Possess is a joy once you start using it. Divide and conquer. i do not need the damn barking dog, i;ll take that Lt you brought with you. I either ST or Cone based on the enemy spawn size and grouping. With pauses to set up Tar Patch, Darkest Night, AoE Hold. It is a tactical style play I enjoy more than blasting. And the look (other than the damn rainbow) is pure wicked. Without compromising my power choices I managed 107.5% global recharge. This puts hasten at just under 5 sec off perma. and Perma Dom. Doms are not for everyone. I love everything about Dark. But it is hard to find a villain non melee that is not running around changing the teams diapers. So. You take stealth on a build. And it is so good. You take it again. If only they made 20 more of these I would not even need other powers. But wait, there is less. It is a huge end hog, does not help vs Rikti Drones or other 'we see through stealth" and does nothing else. Oh wait. you can run and jump faster. (I fly 99.9% time...) Does this power have an y game value of is it just a LOTG mule and an end bar killer?

In the OP the AF for cones and spheres should include the algebra on 1st mention. Why the F do i gotta search through 12 posts to mayve get the correct cureent calc. Like taking a math class and the teacher just starts spouting poetry for the first half of the class.

I got no clue. I do not do new features. I killed three ghouls learning how to operate a desktop computer. So frustrating…

It is. I run a fire blaster a decent amount of time. So, there are various types of fire damage. But you get the “hey i’m dead” a lot. Then you get the “hey i am almost dead and rethinking my life goals”. Neither of the two above are unique to fire, but there is a lot more of it. Then you get the “hey i am standing in 1000 degrees” reaction. My fire blaster is not built for defense. It is built for maximum damage, some accuracy and recharge. 95% time it works 100%

well, cramming stuff in base hoppers without knowing their value until you run out of room is probably not "great management skills" and getting another acc/rech/threat and a couple purps was luck....BUT... it is only by running a 50 that you get the rolls on those lucky drops. i think that would be the thrust of this thread. like a toon? run it at 50. cash problems solved.

To be honest I was not paying attention. Was running a new Dom. (and distracted by rainbow domination!) and trying to figure my powers against vickies and high end enemies. So I was just grabbing glowies and dealing with mobs in front of terminals. Maybe they were going for that badge. But I went to a CoP where my team dropped the pillar even while screams of STOP were in chat. I stopped DPS above 50% Goal was clearly stated 40 before team assignments. It is the crowded Excelsior we wanted lol.

So, I joined a PUG Keyes. I knew at least some of the people were "challenged" when 1 person could not find Pocket D for 5 min. Then we start. I am happily working around the first reactor. I guess team was about half done there. And they killed Anti Matter. So, do I still PUG? O, yeah. to quote someone i avoid as much as possible...

Scrappers have less health I know. But on Live my Goto was a SS/Will Brute when they came out. Remember the days of no inherent fitness? These things just needed SOs. And they rocked. Yes, you had to know what you could rush into. Maybe eat an inspiration. But danged, it is solid. I ran a Beam/Will Sentinel a year? ago to 50. Danged relaxed play. With changes to Sentinels I suspect this may be one of the better ST damage dealers in the game now. Not doing the maths/testing.

When I found Homecoming some years back I dived into a SS/Inv Brute. As expected. I found a horrifically expensive build. By "found" I mean begged, and a clever individual named Hyperstrike said "this one" I still have the toon built up and mostly parked. Now, i have always hated farming. I will do so rarely now to PL my own toons. (Alt Acct Farmer PLs main acct new concept) But I much prefer running story arcs and Task Force/Strike Force/Trials. At least I get merits. And at 50 the cash rewards and drops are good, sometimes great. In the beginning I received help. But after that first toon (which I was on a LOT for 6 months) I just bumble along. i have made money crafting & converting all recipes dropped. Then listing on AH. Good funds in that, but it is work. Farming brings in great rewards. I dislike it. A LOT. Since I run a lot of content I have tons of merits. Selling Enhancement Converters can be lucrative. I recently pawned off a bulk sale to a volume retailer I know. I scraped 80% of my merits together from all sitting toons over last few years and made a bulk deal for a huge chunk. The other 20% saved for May buying of Vet badges (turns out I needed very few) Yesterday i looked through my base and consolidated all my HAMIs into one bin. But the bin was too small. I gathered those of the "type" I had the most of and sold those extra. I also asked "what is that expensive Hami?" turns out it is a acc/threat/rech. And i had one. Sold for 350 mil. I joined a group I know, Ronin's Raiders (new crew on CoH, and polite, professional. wacky. very dedicated to learning hard mode) I did a 2 star ITF with them and a 1 star LGTF. I got a purp recipe at the start of LGTF, and another a few minutes later. We finished and I got a .... not kidding ... acc/threat/rech Hami. another 350 mil. Now I listed both at 1, but there are fees. I think i netted 320 mil on each. I will bin the purps. I hate to AH nearly as much as I hate farming. But that was a day I earned over 640 mil, plus merits, reg TF money drops, and recipes to craft/bin. It may be my best one day in game. But only because I had the one Hami in a closet for a year or more lol. Still a good day. The REAL way to make money in CoH/V? Run a 50. In content you enjoy. The money/drops are so great. There are tons of "make money like this" They almost all work as advertised. But PLAY the character you came here to PLAY. Money will flow. A lot of it.
