Need input on how to make this Beast/Nature build better.
SmalltalkJava replied to SmalltalkJava's topic in Mastermind
ok, damn, I swear i'm about done! I did some more quick testing with procs in T1 Wolves. So far I'm really liking this setup. I lose a smidge of health for the absorb, but the procs seem to be working pretty well. Level 1: Summon Wolves (A) Superior Mark of Supremacy - Accuracy/Damage (3) Superior Mark of Supremacy - Endurance/Pet +Resist +Regen (3) Soulbound Allegiance - Accuracy/Damage/Recharge (5) Soulbound Allegiance - Chance for Build Up (5) Shield Breaker - Chance for Lethal Damage (7) Touch of Lady Grey - Chance for Negative Damage -
Ok, As long as it affects the MM. it might work. I'm doing some Theory crafting for /Nature. I just need to figure out a way to keep my recharge high as possible. But I'm not sure it will be possible with all the knockbacks that Bots do. They will knock everything out of my Nature Entangle Hold aura. And to switch stuff to Knockdown, is going to hurt in slot choices for recharge bonuses. I'm hoping that putting that in the drones will let me drop a 10 recharge bonus from the Big Bot. Not sure it's going to work. Oh wait, maybe I misunderstood your message. NOw that I reread it. If it procs on their attacks it will just go to waste as it won't impact me.
-
If I put a FF proc in the battle drones. Will it increase my actual Recharge Rate when it procs? Or would it just be wasted on recharge for the Drone, since drone's can't attack faster?

I bit the bullet and did a respec. I did change up something from the prior post. I dropped Stealth and added Hover. Just another quality of life thing, I just wasn't a fan of stealth. I like to see my character. The build "feels" good to me. I did some groups and then did a couple quick cruises through solo +3x8. I do have the second Tier "Musculature Core Boost" now, but I'm still not level shifted. This isn't an uber DPS build. It is just a relaxing cruise build. This build gives Power Boosted Health Absorb HP value of 674.8 HP to anything affected by it! Non Power Boosted +HP absorb is just 506.6 HP. Unless I did some math wrong. Here are the results... My HP: 1026.1 After Power Boosted Bastion: 1700.9 HP T1 Wolves: Base: 574.95 After Power Boosted Bastion: 1249.75 HP T2 Lioness: Base: 768.83 After Power Boosted Bastion: 1443.63 HP T3 Dire Wolf: Base: 963.81 After Power Boosted Bastion: 1638.61 HP Hero Plan by Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer 2.6.0.3 https://github.com/ImaginaryDevelopment/imaginary-hero-designer Click this DataLink to open the build! Hex Dump for Import: Pretty much all the solo battles against grouped mobs goes just like this. Unless I mess something up. When you pop your buffs. Us this order so that the buffs take advantage of the big endurance discount. PB > Overgrowth > Wild Bastion > Wild Growth. Example Fight Battle: -

I haven't tested this build out yet. But This is what I'm considering for my next iteration. Swarm is vastly over wasted with Apocolypse, but it gives me more total HP and more global recharge. Which after playing many iterations, is what I think I want. However, this may change after I respec and play it. If someone wants a travel power, they can always drop Stealth, and pick up SuperSpeed or Super Jump. You'd just lose a smidge of Defense, and about 1.5 seconds or so off of Overgrowth's recharge. Really, at this point, it just comes down to player preference. It's probably a mental thing for me, but every second that Overgrowth is down, is like an eternity for me. I notice that I start to watch the recharge count down on and I'm thinking to myself. come on! Come On!! COME ON!!! This build has a 62.81 Second recharge on Overgrowth. Hopefully I haven't overlooked anything. Need input on how to make this Beast/Nature build better.
SmalltalkJava replied to SmalltalkJava's topic in Mastermind
Glad it helps. Sometimes it's nice to get an idea of how a build plays, or at least how another person plays it. For what it's worth. I am still tweaking the build as I play it more. I've tried several things. like adding procs to the beasts and attacks with min/maxing recharge in the MM attacks. It does helps with damage. But my experiments lead me to the think that any downtime in overgrowth hurts damage and your ability to keep doing stuff. Notes just regarding my personal preferences. I don't like using Call Raven's Cone attack. It's just clunky and the 2.19 sec cast time seems like it is an eternity with this build. And normally, I never even notice cast times (it was a really weird realization for me). Anyways, I prefer ease of use. Plus with such high recharge. you can basically chain cast Swarm and Hawk to infinity and beyond. Just 1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2... I'm looking at a build to drop the cone and pick up another skill. I'm still looking at options. probably put in +invisibility to cast on the pets or combat jumping for a smidge more def and a luck of the gambler recharge. But knowing myself, I'll never actually use invisibility. I'm just a lazy bum. Dropping ravens means that I can keep my 2 single target high spam attacks. and pick up 5 slots for use somewhere else. Anything over 68 ish seconds recharge on Overgrowth SUCKS. I really notice the down time. When overgrowth is down my endo usage skyrockets and overall damage drops a lot. When overgrowth is down, you lose 50% damage bonus for your pets and everyone in your group. I had a proc build with about 72 seconds recharge on overgrowth. Damage was nice. But the build got really clunky and was just uncomfortable to play. But the damage vs higher con mobs went high. But it didn't really make my pylon damage go down that much. Because of the overall downtime of overgrowth, it canceled out the proc damage increase. For your qeusiton about Hamio's. you can always slot in an Attuned Heal/Endo or Heal/Endo/Recharge, set piece in it's place, or a regular Recharge IO, level 25 or 30 for your recharge options. On my cone heal i'm currently using some Attuned Heal/Endo Set IO. I can't remember which one, but it doesn't truly matter that much. You'r just using it for the Heal and Endo portion, so you don't have to match it with another set piece for a bonus. T1 pets dying in one hit??? What is this phenomenon that people speak of? -
MM's can. But IMO, *most* need to have the +1 level shift from T3 Alpha Slot. It makes your T1 pets a lot better. Luckily that doesn't take too aweful long to get. I usually get that first thing, then work on the other incarnate stuff. I can vouch that /Time and /Nature can I've done it on Mercs/Time, and Beast/Nature. Both /Nature and /Time provide extra toughness to you and your pets. They also have a heal.

Farm fresh builds! *Farming focused builds and tips*
SmalltalkJava replied to Warlawk's topic in Guides
AH is slow. IIRC it basically is another server. And it has to track a lot of stuff. Drill down and clicking off and on the item is generally a good way to force a refresh -
This should be BOLD AND STICKIED!!! That is what causes most confusion for people. I always misread that because it’s written as an after-thought. (*) Defensive/Goto and Defensive/Stay also work
-
Me. Because I’ve never actually tested. Defensive/stay. Or defensive/goto I have tested Passive combinations. And they do not work. Nevermind. I Misread

Does frankenslotting for procs make a significant difference?
SmalltalkJava replied to the mauler's topic in Corruptor
Procs make a big difference. I’m experimenting with them now for my MM. my damage has gone up quite a bit -
Excellent info. thanks!

Just wanted to let you know. I'm still having trouble getting this to work for the demons. It isn't clickable off and on like the protector bots one is. and when I am able to get it to finally work, it only shows 1 of the two resist auras that the demons have. -
Just curious @M3z How do you slot your Beast pets in Pvp? I'm just a PVE player but I'm interested in learning how to get the beasts fully functional. Any tips on slotting them for PVE?

Beast - Pet Combat Attack usage and some proc results
SmalltalkJava replied to SmalltalkJava's topic in Mastermind
Ok, I can do that with the spoilers! I'm not sure how to do the parsing. Do you want me to try and do a 1 pet at a time parse? I can use /logchat but it puts a lot of friggen garbage in there. On these I just copied from the Pet Combat Window tab straight into the forums. To tell the truth. I'm not really sure how to analyze this and get performance. I just wanted to get some data regarding procs and also see some actual in game attack cycles to see how they use their abilities. Who would have thought that the Dire Wolf hardly ever uses Terrible Howl. I put in some spoiler tags. If you prefer me to use the tags differently let me know. - oh just to clarify, I was doing this on live. and I was using unslotters and reslotting stuff. So they weren't tweaked for max +damage in the IO's department, but they should have all been at least 80% or more. The last one with the Three Dog Night was slotted this way. Level 1: Summon Wolves (A) Superior Mark of Supremacy - Accuracy/Damage (3) Touch of Lady Grey - Chance for Negative Damage (3) Soulbound Allegiance - Damage (5) Soulbound Allegiance - Accuracy/Damage/Recharge (5) Soulbound Allegiance - Chance for Build Up (7) Overwhelming Force - Damage/Chance for Knockdown/Knockback to Knockdown On a related note. I just did a second Three Dog Night and I recorded a video of it. Knockdown City! -

Ok, for a little bit of Fun!! I can't resist. But in the spirit of the early 70's. Momma told me not to come, That ain't the way to have fun, no... and as they say. One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do. Two can be as bad as one. It's the loneliest number since the number one. So... lets do a Three Dog Night proc test. I have highlighted the Crits, Overwhelming Force, and Lady Gray procs. -

Here is a Dire Wolf extract with an Impeded Swiftness proc in. I just removed the def bonus IO and plopped it in for testing. I also highlighted his crits. I wasn't using the attacks to Pack Mentality stacks slow. Impeded Switftness only proc'd 5 times over about 2 minutes. Good/Bad.. I don't know. -

Dire Wolf. In the above fights for the other pets they were fighting yellow con. I finally found an Elite boss with lots of HP that doesn't attack back in an AE. If i get time, I will go back and try to redo the other pets. I still need to do the Alpha Wolf. AE Arc ID 14631 Proc Oppurtinities at first glance Dire does take Defense debuff, Accurate Defense Debuff, Slow, and Fear. But his Cone Fear attack is on a very long recharge. Impeded Swiftness damage proc may be of some use for a little extra oomph. It can be used by Chilling Howl, Freezing Roar. Lady Grey for Maiming bite and how often it is used. Chilling Howl - 14 Sec Recharge, 1.87 Sec Activation: does -slow and -recharge Vicious Bite - 3 Sec Recharge, 1.27 Sec Activation): just a regular attack with a chance for DOT. so nothing special Freezing Roar - 14 Sec Recharge, 2.83 Sec Activation: Does -slow and -recharge Maiming Bite - 6 Sec Recharge, 2.47 Activation: does -def uses it consistently at every 9 to 11 seconds. Even though it recharges at 6 seconds. Terrible Howl - 1 Minute Recharge, 3.67 Activation: Terrorize with Cold damage aoe. ???? Terrible Howl - I did some follow up testing on it. It has a 1 minute recharge and sometimes and he will usually use it at the start of the fight. Sometimes he doesn't use it at ALL!!! I did a 2 and a half minute fight and he never used it one time! -

Here is some basic info on how 1 Lioness uses their attack sequences. Vicious Bite: no special secondary effect proc opportunities, just an initial hit and a small DOT Claw Swipe: no special secondary effect proc opportunities available. it just has a chance for Bleed. Claw Rake: no special secondary effect proc opportunities, just an initial hit and a small DOT - Lioness does have some additional things like: a self damage buff on a 1.5 minute recharge that lasts for 20 seconds. -
I'm doing some preliminary beast pet analysis to see what procs may be of use for Beasts. I haven't spent much time on it yet, but here is some first round things. I need to find a good AE mission with mobs that I can attack 1v1 and move quickly to the next. Both excerpts are with just 1 Howler Wolf. Feral Charge does knockdown, and - def. Maiming Bite does -def and slow. but you can't slot slow set pieces on the wolves. Vicious Bite does just regular damage with not special effects. its just a dot. For the first log set, I ran with buildup and overwhelming force proc, my main goal here was to just get an idea of which attacks the wolf likes to cycle through and how often. Just normal pet stuff. For the second log set, I removed an accuracy/damage set IO and put in a Lady Grey proc, just to get an idea how it would proc. I wasn't going for an actual damage analysis, just to get a some proc rate examples. -Granted this is a small sample size. Log set 2:
