Fixing Nature: Lifegiving Spores and Wild Bastion.
SmalltalkJava replied to WindDemon21's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It would be very nice if it didn't require so much recharge to make Nature shine. I have to say, I like Wild Bastion on my MM. I have 1002 HP. Every 63 seconds I can pop Power Boost and Wild Bastion. I can do it even faster than that if my force feedback proc goes off a few times. Every player in the group and all of our pets get an instant extra 658.9 HP. I think that it was originally meant to be an alpha strike eating ability. But with good defenses and resists, most of the time i still have most of it on me and my pets. I also use Entangling Aura when I solo, so I stand in Lifegiving Spores to keep things topped off as i stand in melee range and cast my piddly attack chain. Right now I have it 6 slotted with Panacea, so everyone/thing that stands in it gets the Panacea proc. I could cut it down to 2 or even 1, but i don't really have that many places to put the slots and the Panacea recharge set bonus is nice. So every 4 seconds, and a random proc. [22:33:41] Lifegiving Spores heals you for 52.83 points. [22:33:41] The Lifegiving Spores causes you to recover a small amount of endurance. [22:33:45] Lifegiving Spores heals you for 52.83 points. [22:33:45] The Lifegiving Spores causes you to recover a small amount of endurance. [22:33:49] Lifegiving Spores heals you for 52.83 points. [22:33:49] The Lifegiving Spores causes you to recover a small amount of endurance. [22:33:49] You are healed by the Panacea effect for 71.75 points of healing. [22:33:50] Eco System grants you 7.67 points of endurance with their Panacea: Chance for +Hit Points/Endurance! There are basically 3 layers to damage mitigation. Defense, Resists, Health. Nature brings the last 2 by Absorb, Regen and Lifegiving Spores (basically regen). I use this macro to put Lifegiving Spores just under my feet but a little bit in front of me. Now in uberfast groups i don't bother with it. unless i see someone gasping for endo. /macro SPORE powexec_location me:8 Lifegiving Spores To make Nature shine, you need recharge, recharge, recharge. and then more recharge. Power Boost is nice for it also, but not necessary. -
What CURSE said. I stand corrected. For some reason, i was thinking that the Build up proc in Tactics affected the pets. It does not! Just the Tactics bonus itself. I corrected my wording in the prior post.

that site. and this site also has a lot of bind/macro info, but it is not MM specific. http://www.shenanigunner.com/

I can't address this specifically. But when you hit 50 my suggestion is to get your Tier 3 Alpha Incarnate before you work on other Incarnate things. It shouldn't take that long. That will give your pets an extra level boost and make them significantly better against +4's. I don't know the math behind getting their to hit rolls to 95%. But a key piece will come into play down below when I talk about Tactics. Generally, from my experience the needed to hit value will come with your actual set's used, as long as you have 1 or preferably 2 Accuracty/xxxx or Accuracty/xxxx/zzzz set pieces in there. I usually shot for about 60-65ish percent enhancement. But I'm not sure of the math. Especially if you take in to account all the external modifiers that can come into play such as enemies that throw out a -tohit. That is a lot of variables to take into account. You can always purchase some unslotters for 125,000 inf and experiment. Yes! Tactics is very sweet. At the very minimum put the Guassian Build up Proc in there. If you can I also suggest that you fully 6 slot it with the Gaussian set. The build up proc has a higher chance to proc based on how many people/pets are in your group. So being a MM you have a nice proc chance advantage. It will be up quite often! Tactics will also increase the % chance that you pets will hit! the build up proc when it goes off, however, will not affect your pets! Good idea! You need defense. Generally, to stay alive and contribute you need Health, and Endurance. Soft capping Defense will help keep you alive. A good note is that if you use the most recent version of Mids (follow the link in my signature and download that version, then when it is installed run the updater in it. This will get you fully updated Mids. When you are working on your build this latest version will allow you to turn on the Protector Bot's shield and see what your MM's defense will be affected.) If you can get your defense up where you need it, I would suggest this slotting for Caltops and Acid Mortar. Caltops and Mortar offer some good Proc opportunities. Doing this will enable some extra damage mitigation and turn the two abilities into more attack oriented abilities. It will also enhance the -Res that Acid Mortar provides and also let your pets do more damage. The overwhelming force proc knockdown will help in keeping the mobs in the burn patches. How much so, I can't really say as I've never actually tried it. Caltrops (A) Overwhelming Force - Damage/Chance for Knockdown/Knockback to Knockdown (13) Annihilation - Chance for Res Debuff (15) Positron's Blast - Chance of Damage(Energy) Acid Mortar (A) Superior Winter's Bite - Accuracy/Damage/Recharge (40) Superior Winter's Bite - Damage/Endurance/Accuracy/RechargeTime (46) Gladiator's Javelin - Chance of Damage(Toxic) (48) Touch of Lady Grey - Chance for Negative Damage (48) Shield Breaker - Chance for Lethal Damage (50) Achilles' Heel - Chance for Res Debuff Regarding Hasten. It is a nice tool, that is used to help ensure that your KEY abilities are available when you need them. So it really comes down to how you play. I dislike having to take it, but most builds really are enhanced by taking it. That way you have your big offensive or defensive hitters up as much as possible. - One final note, In the Defender Forum there is a Proc Monster Thread. Sir Myshkin and others did a lot of testing. On the first page is a Traps/Water build. Now of course it won't work as a direct translation for MM's. But to get you started on "ideas" you could take the Traps portion of that build load it up in Mids and then see what you can do with the Bots portion of the build to get it where you want it regarding Defense, Endurance, Recharge and other necessities. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/7116-proc-monsters-the-new-offender/ Ok, ok, one more final note: The procs i mentioned above you can start testing them out early. Buy the Attuned version of them, they will then work from the minimum level of the set to level 50 and beyond.

Feedback wanted - Furry Chainsaw Beast/Kin build
SmalltalkJava replied to Draugrok's topic in Mastermind
ok, Pines is actually no longer being supported. Mids is the current generation. You can download the "almost" latest build from the link in my signature which is v 2.6.0.2. Once you download that then run the updater from it and it will update to v 2.6.0.3. Which is the most up to date version. It was just updated a couple weeks ago and they are working on another release now. v 2.6.0.3 will actually show the effect that the Protector Bots defense shields has on the MM's defenses. 🙂 But that isn't pertinent here. -
Yes, I know that for sure! my main is a Beast/Nature MM that plays in melee range using Entangling Aura to hold mobs to make up for my non-capped defenses. It's the mezzes that usually get me. It detoggles my hold

LOL. My understanding of blasters are two general and broad ideas. You want some defense/resists so you can keep blasting even if under attack and not insta die. You want enough endurance so you can keep blasting. and i guess the 3rd would be. Keep blasting. I always hear about the whole Knockback thing with Energy Blast. So that has always made me shy away from Energy. - edit- Have you posted your A/TA build anywhere? I think this Energy/Time blaster and a A/TA blaster are combinations in which i could come up with a character concept - ahh i see you posted it Thanks!!
-
Cool thanks for the info. I've never played a blaster before, and i'm just starting my research into them. I appreciate you sharing your process on this build with the community.

How long can your build keep up the rotation without going dry on endo?

Feedback wanted - Furry Chainsaw Beast/Kin build
SmalltalkJava replied to Draugrok's topic in Mastermind
Really wierd, When i load your build it is really messed up. It has melee attacks in there for the secondary. Anyone else getting this issue? I'm running v 2.6.0.3 of Mids Reborn Hero designer. If by chance you can update and then re-export, then i'll take a more indepth look. Just my preference, I think 1 end mod is good enough for SB. For vengeance. I'd drop that proc. and put in something more persistent. Maybe a defense set unique. -
Yes, just ignore the tooltip. They work in MM pets 100% guarantee

What does "Passive" mean?

There are 6 total aura iOS that a MM can slot into their pets. The ones marked Superior have a non-superior version also. But you can only use non or superior. Superior version is level 50 Edict of the Master - Defense Bonus Sovereign Right - Resistance Bonus (Superior) Command of the Mastermind - Recharge/Pet +AoE Defense Aura (Superior) Mark of Supremacy - Endurance/Pet +Resist +Regen Call to Arms - Defense Bonus Aura for Pets Expedient Reinforcement - Resist Bonus Aura for Pets

Beast - Pet Combat Attack usage and some proc results
SmalltalkJava replied to SmalltalkJava's topic in Mastermind
I tried achiles heel in the 3 tier 1 wolves. It didn’t reall work that well from what I could tell. It did proc a lot. However the problem with the beasts is that they tend to spend a lot of time buffing. Some of their buffs take like three seconds to cast. The damage of their attacks would go up but not by that much. It mainly helped the bleed damage but their values is so low that it would just go up a by a point or two. Then they might do a buff cycle and the debuff would drop. If I can ever get a good combat analyzer I will test some more. But I don’t have a good way to actually do calculations. -
That sounds about right. As to poison. I have my thugs poison. It’s not my cup of tea. But for a proc oriented build poison trap is nice. Big boom! It works well with heat mastery Bonfire bouncing also i also suggest a player get. The insta recharge ability from the super speed pool. I think it’s called Burnout but I’m not sure. It allows you to insta make Noxious Gas ability available again. It’s also nice for The thugs Gang War. Im with @Frosticus it works great for controllers. Lock the mobs down and boom them with poison trap.

I’m writing this on my phone, so forgive any typos or bad grammar. I was just thinking that we should really start a build compendium post. A lot of the posts from before the forum switch over are not searchable. 😞. Some of the links that I had book marked are not correct anymore. But we can always go back to page 1 and start compiling builds that were posted. There are also some nice builds that are posted deep in threads that aren’t easily found or they can be easily overlooked if you aren’t careful. I’ve also seen a couple good builds on the Discord MM channel pins so what do you think? We could start compiling them and then once we have a good collection, worry about how to actually classify them such as full guides, tested in game, theorycrafted only, pve, pvp. If someone has actually used a build a note could be added about its positives and how it generally plays. Kind of like a flavor. there are so many good ideas out there. I myself get frustrated sometimes trying to find info on builds. I also like to make sure that when I use another persons build as inspiration that I reference that person. — edit this wouldn’t just be for Uber min/maxed builds. It would also be for builds that the originator just plain enjoys playing

Reverend Blue Jeans. Err. Forever in Blue Jeans. LOL King of Queens episode reference

Probably not technically needed. But damn I’m happy when one is on the team. A good one just makes the ride that much more smooth.

Just some brain storm idea’s that were floating in my head. Quick background on myself, I used to do Java and Smalltalk programming. My Java programming experience is much more recent. I know that HeroStats is a thing but it’s in a bad spot now with the new clients. It occurred to me start a first iteration log parser just for dps for my Beast Mastermind. Since it is my main it would give me a small project scope on which to develop a productive application. In addition to a small scope it would let me have easy access to a combat log that fit the scope. Then once I got it working, revisit it and see how it could be refactored to be adaptable for other MM primaries and then other AT’s. I’m not talking about a full live action UI but something that would run as needed and parse the file using the new log file Timestamps that are available. And then spit out a summary file with the results. Another option is to look into leveraging the Advanced Combat Tracker ACT that so many other MMO’s have plugin extensions for. https://advancedcombattracker.com/. I’ve never looked into ACT development at all. One advantage of this option is that some people use Apple computers and I think ACT is Apple compatible. Does anyone have experience with ACT extensions? At first glance it seems that ACT has baseline functionality for parsing log files. Just some thoughts. @The Philotic Knight @ineffablebob @Bopper @Sir Myshkin Edit. It looks like ACT plugins are written in .cs and .vb. https://github.com/EQAditu/AdvancedCombatTracker/wiki/Plugin-Creation-Tips

Literally ANYTHING to stop ranged henchmen from brawling
SmalltalkJava replied to Weylin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Yah. I’m surprised that players have collision detection with friendly pets. -
And you don’t come across mobs that use cold damage that often. So you spend a lot of energy fixing the stuff it doesn’t offer. (It seems, but I could be wrong, I haven’t looked at it in a while)

Here is the latest from my Beast/Nature MM. this is a xpost from the MM forum. Did a run with my beast/nature MM. Only Incarnate I have is Tier 2 "Musculature Core Boost". I started the timer right as i was casting the second of the 4 buffs and them moved right in. Buffing occurs about 70 yards out. No inspirations used. Time 1: 3 minutes 3 seconds. I lost 1 dog. I also realized that i didn't have Hasten on auto!!!! So I couldn't pop overgrowth when i wanted and ran low on endo!!! Time 2: 2 minutes 33 seconds. Much better. I remembered Hasten this time. I did learn that more than 2 of my buff cycles and I am dry. The nature buffs use a lot of endo! I'm constantly spamming Swarm and Hawk. Time 3: 2 minutes 41 seconds. roughly the same. I tried to run with Hover off, just to conserve a bit of endo, that way my lifegiving spores could regen me a bit faster. but I got knocked back two times. So i turned it back on. Build used:

Just a check in. How is this concept coming along?
