Gigajoule Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Ice Melee and Dark Melee both synergize well with Ice Armor. Debuffing the enemies' ability to hit you helps to cover Ice Armor's RNG unreliableness. I had a level 50 Ice/Ice Tanker on live back in the day. 1

Apart from perhaps EM secondary, just read on another thread that ET was nerfed! Just got my ice/em tank to 35.. thinking of rerolling now :( Ice/energy was really uber but I left the game shortly after that.

I focused on shoring up the fire damage hole as best as possible, while not gimping power enhancements. It has softcap S/L/E/N defense and 34% F/C. With a full hit of Energy Absorption, you can have 41% F/C, and the build can allow you to stack that over the softcap with another full EA. On top of that, you'll have 50% resist to Fire, so you should be sitting pretty so long as Psi isn't an issue. Additionally, while it doesn't have Hasten, you're practically running around with perma-Hasten (without the fear of a crash) at 85% global recharge. There's 53% acc bonus so your punches should land plenty of times. With EA up every 20 secs, you shouldn't have to worry too much about endurance. I've also put in a couple more AoE's with Soul Tentacles and Dark Obliteration. You're only drawback is you've only got Hoarfrost to heal yourself with every 140 seconds. ET used to be insta-cast (I believe it was the same animation as current Chain Induction on Electric Melee). The claim was that the change was needed to balance pvp. What a joke! Almost nobody plays this game for pvp, then or now.....and I say that as an avid pvper on live. My ice/em tank was my favorite hero to play pve or pvp, and it got shelved after that change.

I considered for about 10 seconds if I should reroll as a Brute but decided against it cause I didn't want to lose anything that makes him awesome. I have 2 end recovery powers, but only use 1, and 2 heals that are never used but nice to have them. He handles all content and can farm really well. I have ice/stone as well, but I think stone melee suffers from a decent instacast t9 damage power.

And while I don't slot for end drain. Leaving the enemy slowed with no end to do anything with once a power does recharge amuses me greatly.

My 2 current favourites are an ice/rad and an ice/dark. As expected the rad just has to hang about in mobs and they melt but the new touch of fear is tons of fun on the dark i love the fast recharge time on it. Xandyr Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 I have an Ice/Electric. It's pretty fun. No real synergy (well, maybe Chilling Embrace and the end drains from Electric, as was mentioned). I didn't slot for end drain, but I do notice from time to time that my attacks drain end and I receive said end, which helps the blue bar for sure.
