Hi all!

I was going through some old threads, and I dug into @Galaxy Brain’s Blaster Primary Comparison charts. It seemed like, while missing out on the raw damage of a fire blaster, Water made up for it a bit with the safety it provides.

As I’m looking to make a primarily solo played Blaster, this is important to me! I was curious: do any of you feel there are any secondaries that really shine with Water Blast as a primary? I was looking to play mostly a “hover” style of Blaster, but I’m open on this as well. Water/Temp or Water/Eng seem like good ranged options.

Water/Atomic seems like it could be a lot of fun, but would be more of an in your face kind of style I believe. Water/Fire as well.

I appreciate any suggestions!

I went with Sonic for more AoE's and the awesome S/L resists you get from it.

Also it has -Res.

So i capped the S/L resists and capped ranged def and it's really fun to play.

And it fits with water blast thematically.

One I didn’t think of, great suggestion.

Water Blast is so great, it pairs with anything.  I prefer fighting in melee range with my blasters (even as soloists) and give a second shout out to Water/Martial, and to: /Fire, /Temporal, /Atomic, /Sonic, /Dark, /Mental, and even though I haven't tried yet... /Earth as I think it would be similar in playstyle.

Water/atomic/fire.

1: Procced char and the atomic hold make up for water's 'eh' single target damage.

2: Between FFB and atomic's buffs, all the recharge you could ever need.

3: Can be built to blap or go pure ranged.

Nice man, gonna have to take a look at these sets. Seems like it’d have some good built in mitigation as well. I think @Linea’s 801 Blaster project is actually this combo.

/energy for an almost pure 100% water blasting experience

all you need/want is buildup and energize

Seems like that would work great at range. Really free up focusing on just blastin’ haha

I have a Water/Fire for pure damage and the somewhat paradoxical nature of the combo.  That said I love how conceptually flexable Water is with recoloring so I made it look more like oil than water.  Gameplay wise, it turns into a kill or be killed scenario, with very little in the way of mitigation other than some KB from Burst and Geyser (plus a KD proc in Fire Sword Circle).  Bonfire with a KB>KD is a big help for sure.  But when things go right, not much survives the barrage of AoEs I have at my disposal.  Water Burst and Steam Spray, then jump in with Fire Sword Circle and Burn along with Hot Feet and Cauterizing Aura, so much killing power.
