Turric Posted January 16 Share Posted January 16 (edited) Or spell it in another fashion. For instance, one of my characters was Knighthawk on another server but that was taken on Excel. You can use the chat command /get_global_name your_old_character_name to find the global name of the person who has the name. Then you could drop them a polite in-game email to ask if they'd be willing to give up the name. At the very least, you could say what the character name is and what server you were trying to make the character on. Dependant upon the server you are on, you could try this thread as well: If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. There's obviously been a huge influx of new/returning players and I am sure many proceeded to name hoard. Le sigh. OP, I will say I've also come across this and took it as a challenge to find a new name etc. It will take a bit of getting used to but it'll be ok. I will never have a toon name where it's all caps with spaces between letters, ends in a 1, . or -. The worst is xX _____ Xx.
