Hello, scrapper's snipe has seem to become a major problem in PVP nowadays with EVERYONE making ninjitsu scrappers and just doing it for the crit snipe. it's making PVP very unenjoyable and really unfair how people are taking advantage of this type of snipe and just using that to get their kills. literally just two of these scraps can snipe any blaster, defender, corr, dom, or any toon with hp less than 1800 and it's an automatic death because there is literally nothing you can do to stop those two snipes from hitting and critting. PLEASE fix it now.

You are upset about Scrappers using Shinobi-Iri to increase their chances of their snipe crit'ing but you aren't upset about Stalkers using Hide to crit with their snipes or Blasters using Shinobi to deal extra damage with their snipes?

snipes for stalkers and scrappers are out of hand. how can the devs give so much damage potential to those two ATs for both melee and range attacks??? wut's the purpose of making a blaster or any range toon when i can just snipe people and kill them in two hits?? that is the problem.

That's the point of those Archetypes. In a TEAM game, you want to have people who can detect them, lock them down, rez your allies, and perform other counter manuevers to those tactics. However, if you're going to go into PvP alone, things do favor them, because their role is necessary for PvP.

The solution isn't a nerf, which just makes sure nobody has a reason to PvP. The solution has to be highlighting the other AT's abilities in PvP scenarios. If you were talking about improving that, you wouldn't meet backlash like you do when you make a broad statement that sounds like you want to castrate the purpose of the only PvP functioning ATs.

Maybe try investing in stealth? Grab the Stealth power from the Concealment pool (-611 feet enemy perception range to see you in PvP) or the Infiltration power (-389 feet enemy perception to see you in PvP). Slot a stealth proc into a travel power. (-300 feet enemy perception to see you in PvP for Celerity for example.) You prefer playing Blasters? Try a /Ninja Training Blaster and grab the Shinobi power. Grants you +389 feet radius stealth (so reduces enemy perception by -389 feet in PvP) and it boosts your damage when you go to snipe your own targets. (Stealth and Celerity reduce enemies' perception to see you in PvP by 911 feet.) Now they have to find you to snipe you.

Or join a team. So even if you do get sniped, the team can either heal you before that 2nd hit, be the sniper's target instead of you, avenge you, or rez you (and then help you avenge yourself).

Welcome to the majority opinion of the last two decades.  😛

PvP in this game has always been and will always be immensely unbalanced, and there have always been combinations of powers that just automatically win and other combinations that are inherently awful and nothing you can do will make them perform. It's the unfortunate consequence of the game never being designed for PvP originally and it being awkwardly bolted onto the side some four issues in, the game's mechanics simply are not conducive to well balanced PvP and especially so in a 1v1 scenario. Personally I'd argue that's true in almost all MMOs but that's perhaps more debatable.

Say they do nerf scrapper ninjitsu and/or the epic pool snipes they have access to, all that will happen is those same players you're complaining about will find another power combo that automatically wins vs most things (My uneducated guess would be devices blaster and their similar +damage on the first hit power, but I don't PvP at all.) and you'll be back here again demanding they nerf that too. It would take a complete redesign of the mechanics from the ground up to produce any other outcome, and the devs back on live already tried that once with extremely questionable results.

I figure if they're gonna allow folks to be 1 or 2 shotted, can't we bring back holds to their original strength before they were severely nerfed in live?

Bro, where are you finding PVP in this game? That scene died several years ago.

Alternate answer: Just play an MM, they're OP. Lol.

With there being no mez protection in pvp anymore, all that would result in is fights being decided entirely by whoever gets a hold off first.

I think the solution is that in the PvP zones everyone is automatically in a League (one on each side), so people can be located and buffed/healed easily even if they entered solo.

As far as I know the hidden you get from ninjitsu isn't a complete stealth like stalker, so you can "see" them if you have good enough perception either boosting it by insps, powers, set bonuses or like the proc https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Rectified_Reticle:_Increased_Perception

Also, they have to get within range to do an melee attack, so they have to close with you. Any kind of PBAoE field should bring them out of hidden state so they can't crit from it when attacking you

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

You joined Homecoming in November 2021 and your first two forum posts are about this?

I don't think you can be 1-shotted.

I'm pretty sure if you re at fully health an attack can only take you down to your last hit point .... but I guess there is the possibility of a DoT finishing you off.

IIRC, yes, one-shot protection still applies in PVP.

The rest of the game, outside of PvP...

Shinobi-iri (Scrapper) reduces perception radius of the Scrapper by 390 feet. Same as Shinobi (Blaster). Stalker Hide is 500 feet. Bear in mnd that these are PvP values. Hide in PvE is 150 feet to Shinobi-iri's 35.5 feet. (Edit: Not arguing with you, just providing the relevant data.)

The author is complaining about Scrapper snipes, which have a 150 feet range.

I'm pretty sure the game code prevents a full health player from being 1-shot as well.
