PLZ Nerf Inspirations

I feel like after reading this thread I have grown as a COH player. 
 

Mostly I have grown to hate poor font selection.

to be fair, i still do not understand what you want.  Yes, i have read it.

 

You seem to want them to be "less powerful"  But there are different levels of inspirations.  Trust me, if you depowered them all these maniacs would just use the one 2-3 levels up that now gives the same value.  And then you would ask.... that we "depower inspirations?"

Only thing I'd say should be looked at is the balance between orange resistance and purple defense inspirations.  It has always seemed off.  I'd buff orange ones a bit and nerf purple ones a bit.  Doubt it'd ever happen though.

 

Oh, and being able to store inspirations in email and grab them during missions is a bit cheesy, but not sure if anything can be done about that.

 

Otherwise, they are fine imo.

He wants to impose his preferences on the populace.  Dictate how everyone else plays.  Make others experience the game the way he thinks they should.  Not the way it was designed to be experienced, not the way three development teams have agreed it should be experienced, not the way others enjoy experiencing it, but his way.

As a solo player, Inspirations have dragged my ass through all sorts of content I just couldn't manage on my own. I appreciate the ability to do that as it exists now. But, okay, lets say for a moment that nerfing inspirations went forward. What do we get? What is the benefit to the game, how does my experience change, in this world? 

 

Because I don't see it.

IMHO, it's because there are some people who, for instance, see a blaster down a couple BFs, then think to themselves, "Why do they even need a [insert other AT here]", and think that, were it not for said inspirations, they'd be so much more in demand and/or able to team-up that much more easily...

half the time my blaster hoards his insp and/or forgets to use them.  and i just blast away....

Issue 25 didn't get much push back since most of us weren't playing at the time.  And 5% isn't a huge difference.

I think the changes to that duals can drop and be traded (along with team) more than made up for that.

 

But thanks for the link, I hadn't processed some of the stuff that was changed and now I know why logout times seem to vary.

First, I don't recall a player posting a suggestion to have them nerfed, whereas this thread is a player asking for that to happen.

 

Second:

I25 inspiration nerfs:

  • Dual and Team inspirations had their durations nerfed to 60 seconds to match other inspirations.
  • All inspirations were 5% stronger than listed. They were nerfed to match their descriptions.

 

In the first case, the "nerf" was bringing some inspirations in line for duration with the other inspirations. In the second case, the inspirations were adjusted in power to match what they were described as doing. Both of these nerfs are corrections. As opposed to your call for a nerf that still has no plausible reason. Do you see the difference?

 

(Also, still waiting on your stated list of other reasons inspirations need to be nerfed. If you have them, it may help your case to provide them.)

You are looking at the numbers wrong. The inspirations were 5% stronger than they should be. That does not necessarily mean that they had a flat 5% value stacked on top of their listed values. That reads more to me like a +7.5% buff was actually providing a +7.875% buff.

 

Edit: Besides, if your defense is already at 40%, then popping any purple inspiration will soft cap you anyway. 5% more powerful buff than should be or not.

  • YOU MAY BE CORRECT ON THAT, NO IDEA. ONCE IT WENT FREE I WAS GONE SO CANNOT CONFIRM OTHER THAN THAT LINK.
