Now.... they bring that sewage here.... They brought it back. Back on Live, several costume pieces were hidden behind walls where they had to be purchased or earned. I was happy that HC did not maintain that, but if it is to exist in the game again anyway, then better it be something we can't do with the character creator than things that should just be available in the character creator. Bigger than the CC allows is fine with me for having to buy (with in game currency).

No sale. if (and it is a BIG if) i bought something like this, for a certain concept, it would need to be persistent through death. Because….concept. So, to recap, the only way i would buy this is for a concept i love. That when it falls in battle reverts to a different size. Any ideas what in the hell does that? 1

A bit of a stretch but there's some manga/anime characters that can flex their muscles to take on a bulkier form. We're not just talking bodybuilder posing vs resting but technically shapeshifting from skinny to Mr. Universe. It's a conscious effort, so they revert any time they're not actively maintaining it. The two that come to mind are All Might (My Hero Academia) and Galatea Undine (Claymore). I don't think it's a far cry from conceptualizing a character doing the same for height. You are misunderstanding what I am saying. All I am saying is that costume pieces/options used to be behind in game walls. They aren't bringing something new to the game with the Prismatic Aethers, they are simply re-applying what used to exist in a different format. Personally, I am of the belief that if it is a costume option, and not a model replacer like the become various mobs options, but is like an aura, costume piece, or similar; it should not be behind a wall since they previously removed all the previous walls to such things. However, if this sytem is to exist, then it should include things that aren't really an option for player characters. Being smaller than the minimum and bigger than maximum is something I can accept being behind a merit wall. I'm not saying you should or have to, just that something like that being behind an accessibility wall makes sense to me. (Edit: And does have in game precedent dating all the way back to launch. Remember, capes weren't available until level 20, and then only if you went to the City Rep to complete a mission to unlock them. And then again at level 30 for auras. And when they added Vanguard. Vanguard costume pieces had to be purchased individually, and only applied to the purchasing character, using Vanguard Merits.) And if you don't want to make use of the Prismatic Aether available options, that's fine. They are just that, an option. Edited October 22 by Rudra 1 1

Ukase Posted October 23 Posted October 23 As for the OP suggestion, my only caveat would be to recognize in certain council cave maps, you can enter a hallway at the wrong angle and find yourself behind some pipe, and you have to back up and try again, or TP out. I once made a fire tank on retail that was a tall as I could make it, and that was always an issue. 1

Caves are so bad that if I've made a very large toon, I'll use their second costume slot and leave everything the same but make them as short as possible! Then when I have a tiny cave I swap to the tiny costume and it cuts down on profanity by 96%!! I just use that one as a "nightmare" costume for one of my character sleep powers. I change into it - along with a tray flip to mass confuse and fear powers. I was only "mostly" joking when I suggested City of Jack Kirby Giants back before the Sunset. I think that there is only one of my current characters that I would use a growth power like this to make my characters bigger. My main concern - based on the mini mode - is "is my character's head going to have the same "normal" size when their body gets bigger?" Except for the price I am a dirty casual at heart. I love alts. Investing a non refundable exorbitant fee into a few days/weeks gaming is stupid. for new players who do not have access to billions the devs have effectively said “ no, wait until you get good. Then you might get this”. it flat out stinks. And i have seen enough sewers to know what that smell is 3
