Snarky Posted December 5 Posted December 5 the GMs say it is right in my email.... and yet. oh well. anybody got a billion or two you can throw an old vampires way? (this was a significant chunk of my liquidity...i alt a lot)
Apogee Posted December 5 Posted December 5 I've got some change around here somewhere... Seriously though, did you tie the funds to a Merit or Recipe or something? I do that all the time then have to figure out where I put the cash 1

That was 30 hours ago.
Apogee Posted December 5 Posted December 5 (edited) I had a mail issue a couple of weeks ago where I sent the mail to an alt account but it never arrived. The sending character (only the one character, not the whole account) then got an error whenever trying to mail something else. I think you may have discovered how Yomo is funding their bankroll... I bet you they wrote a program to draw off fractions of an influence from each email but put the decimal in the wrong spot! Edited December 5 by Apogee added unfounded conspiracy theory 1 1
Nerio72 Posted December 5 Posted December 5 I emailed myself in an email labeled cash and I just keep that and reply to it when I need to send more. That keeps the possibility of misspelling out of the equation. Of course if you don't like never having an empty mailbox this isn't a good solution for you... 2 1

(this was a significant chunk of my liquidity...i alt a lot) At least you spelled it correctly. I lost a major chunk of funding a few months back because of a space in the name. Apparently there's someone out there who has copied my global, but didn't use a space between words. I typed too fast and left out the space. Do you have a second account with which you could use a character to aid transfers? I've taken to doing that for any major funds movements between characters. It takes a bit longer, but is much safer, at least from my butter fingers.
Snarky Posted December 5 Author Posted December 5 Well i do have a farm toon. But this was my “bankroll” i grabbed a billion. Bought 200 in ATOs then popped it back into email. And…gone.

Ukase Posted December 5 Posted December 5 I will say this for folks who may be unaware of various email glitches. Sometimes, for whatever reason, I'll notice an email I sent an alt didn't arrive. So, I'll send an email from the alt to the initial sending account, and that WILL arrive. So, I'll wonder if I made a mistake. So, I'll be real careful, and I'll send another email to the alt I sent the first one to; and that one doesn't arrive either. And then, 15-20 minutes later, the "lost" emails prove themselves delayed, not lost. This did happen. Only put in an email what you'd be prepared to lose if the gremlins get hungry. Before the snafu about a year ago, (when some folks were missing stuff from their email) for me, email had a perfect record. Never had any issues. I still haven't had any permanent issues. Just some temporary glitches. I can't find it now - because I'm too lazy to look, but way back when HC first opened the servers, I read something to the effect of [ email may or may not be reliable]. I've been taking the risk for at least 4 years and have never lost one (permanently). 1
Hedgefund Posted December 5 Posted December 5 Snarky when GMs "comp" inf, it's sent to your character items, not regular e-mail. Check that tab to see. 1

I just spend a half billion from what Ukase sent me buying ATOs, then dragging them out of there. …..and the original email showed up about 70 minutes ago now. With the time stamp of tonight, when it showed up. Not yesterday morning, when i sent it. 1

One from a year or so ago. One (of two) just sent to me. (The other spent). And the third is the 800 mill that just showed up. i marked both tickets resolved as soon as the inf arrived a couple hours ago. except now i want to go verify. Stop miscounting i am OCD. Then i can drop an enhance/recipe/influence etc over the top of it and the global name stays. Quicker than typing if you have a long global and does not include typo's. If that helps. Downside is you have to search through emails a little more as all will show reward merit. You will need to click them to see what they really carry. You can just reply to your global also. That said, and I've no idea how much nasty coding this would take, I'd love for a checkbox to be added to the email process whereby it just fills in my global, just to keep from mistyping anything. That or (and I realize this is even more coding) a drop down list option where I could add, say, my top 3 addresses to which I email. That way I could quickly select my alt account(s) as well, or send to a BFF consistently. 2
