Joined late 2022.  1 post.  
 

Brings up an interesting discussion however.  Is Homecoming CoX “what i used to know?”   
 

I started on Liberty. Redside.  Think HC Goldside population.   Which i thought was decent, since i came from console games.  After 6 months i moved to Freedumb.  Then Virtue a year or so later.  
 

Personally I find Homecoming very similar to live, as far as the community goes.  I play on Excelsior.  Busy, but with the more intelligent elements found on Live Virtue.  
 

So, sorry you have left whateversyournamewas.  I hope you find what makes you happy.

Not really, no.  It is the nature of an MMO to not remain stagnant.  Even the 2012 version of CoX was not the 2011 version (when I headed out to work with beta on Firefall), and certainly not the 2005 version when I joined during the first Winter Lord event.  Some things change that I wished had not, somethings changed that I agreed needed to change.  One just rolls with the punches.    A comment like the OP is a glib straw man fallacy because there exists no one version of this game.  Only stepping stones between patches. 

 

I can only guess what their thoughts would have been on WoW, for example, which has significantly rewritten the power sets, zones, indeed most of everything many, many times over.  Even their WoW Classic (I think it is called) was not, at release, the same WoW that premiered in 2004.  The developers even said so.  Instead it was something very similar, but with a lot of tweaks to improve on original faults and to make the game compatible with modern technology.

I don't… understand why people announce they are leaving, like, just leave?  If you’re a really big name that, for example, leads 5 Hami raids a week plus leads multiple I trials per week then maybe but even still, that’s a stretch.

The only rule about leaving is: 

1. Do not abuse or harass others
   1. This includes players, Homecoming staff, and players or staff from other communities
   2. If someone wants you to leave them alone, you must leave them alone

It's always sad to lose fellow players.  Maybe Bag_Fry will come back some day.

 

Until then, can I have his stuffs that no one else wants?

I think there's an argument to be made that if a change has been made which has upset you to the point that you feel motivated to leave, a post which outlines what you don't like before you leave is at least giving the devs a data point that they don't get from simply not logging in ever again.  "This update went live and active player count is dropping" is arguably less of an actionable feedback than "This update went live and player count is dropping and we've had ten people post on the forums about leaving because they hate what happened to their tanks," or whatever. (I'm not saying this as a doom and gloom about P2, I think it's generally fine, this is meant only as example)

However, OP also didn't give any such feedback at all. "Not what I used to know" is hardly something that can be fixed.
