KaizenSoze Posted Monday at 11:15 AM Posted Monday at 11:15 AM This week I have the pleasure of teaming with a player who runs one of the most effective odd ball builds I have seen in awhile. They run a Gravity/Force Field Controller that specializes in herd mobs. And they are damn good at it. The place the pet on top of the tank, then Repulsion Field entire rooms with multiple spawns into the kill zone. What are the crazy effective builds you have seen that don't follow the damage is everything mantra? 2 1 Night Pixie on Excelsior Introduction to Arachnos Widows - Night/Blood/Fortunata
mistagoat Posted Monday at 04:43 PM Posted Monday at 04:43 PM Here is a thread discussing a similar topic but it's over a year old so I'd be interested to see what folks have come up with since then. SPOON!
SeraphimKensai Posted Monday at 06:30 PM Posted Monday at 06:30 PM Ooo I remember participating in that thread. It can be fun to play around secondary effects rather than just worry about damage all the time. That said getting some decent damage can be its own reward when you weren't expecting it.
Skyhawke Posted Monday at 07:05 PM Posted Monday at 07:05 PM Ice Melee/Electric Armor Brute. In Praetoria, I was a god almost from the get go and as I leveled it only got better. Good hp? Check. Full energy resists (what's Praetoria's favorite damage type?) before level 10? Check. Ice Patch to stop ambushes (heh) cold? Check. Once I finally left Night Ward, the high faded to just being pretty good...but man, in Praetoria that build was unstoppable. 1 Sky-Hawke: Rad/WP Brute Alts galore. So...soooo many alts. Originally Pinnacle Server, then Indomitable and now Excelsior
Glacier Peak Posted Monday at 07:09 PM Posted Monday at 07:09 PM Fold Space and Shadow Slip Warshade. Basically every mob is yoink city. I lead weekly Indom Badge Runs / A newer giant monster guide by Glacier Peak / A tour of Pocket D easter eggs! / Arena All-Star Accolade Guide! Best Post Ever....
The Trouble Posted Monday at 08:37 PM Posted Monday at 08:37 PM I won't repeat the weirdo I posted in the other thread because I made a different kind of monster Blaster. I made him Psy/Energy with the initial goal of being a "Blapper". But here's the thing... Psy has extremely long-ranged blasts, and Energy has Boost Range. As soon as I got Boost Range, I knew I had to see how it paired with the sniper power, Psionic Lance. Well? I one-shotted a guy from orbit (only way to be sure). His group went aggro. Even though I didn't move an inch, that group gave up the chase simply because I was too far away. He also has softcapped defense to Smashing, Lethal, Energy, Negative Energy, and Ranged attacks. I sacrificed Resistances, and a little bit of damage to get there, but I can't say I've noticed the compromise. All I know is there is no distance, near or far, where the enemy is safe from becoming a glowing pile of viscera. 4
