Calamity Cain Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 (edited) Time to throw my hat in the ring. Been holding onto these bases for so long and never shared anything about them. So first, some shots of Abrams Tower, the personal abode of my hero Captain Adamant. I really wanted to go above and beyond some of the more standard apartment designs and play with different color schemes and accent walls. Edited February 9, 2022 by Calamity Cain 3 3

Vexxillion Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 (edited) I made The Station about 9 months ago and realized I had never posted it here on the forums, and since I basically made it for everyone on Excelsior server to use, I figure why not! Themed as a subway station with loose Matrix vibes and pop-culture Easter eggs, The Station is an efficient and polished one-room travel/utility HUB with all available zones (categorized alphabetically and accessed via four custom subway cars,) as well as all the NPCs and item vendors required to help you during your heroic (or villainous) journey! With a focus on ease of use with a zone-like aesthetic and attention to detail, The Station has everything you need and won't let you down! The lack of actual Arachnos items to choose from was quite a challenge and I had to make some tough choices. There are still some minor tweaks that need to be done, but overall, I'm happy with the outcome. I sincerely appreciate your support! Defeat All Snakes Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Base building is pretty cool. But what about base destroying? These are a few snapshots from the aftermath of the penultimate chapter of the Black Hand Society's season 1, in which the cartel war hit its closest to home. The blood effect in that last one was achieved using the city ruin pieces -- tinting the secondary (I think it was secondary) color red creates a very convincing splatter pattern. It was just a matter of arranging them in a believable order. 8 7
Vexxillion Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Very cool! Dirtying up a scene is something I rarely see in base building and you've done a fantastic job here!

Latex Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 (edited) Hello Base Builders! Building a base for my character(s) was extremely daunting, it's with many thanks to @Dacy and her video tutorials I managed to wrap my head around it. Within two days I had managed to get a firm grip on the mechanics, the keys used etc! From then on it was pretty much the exact same 'builder' as the old MMO Wildstar where you could make some incredible things that were only limited by your imagination; it's no different here! The builder is clunky and cumbersome, I can't say I fully enjoyed Base Building. After showing friends the base people wanted to commission me to build for them which was insane! Anyway, I am here to show some screenshots of what I made. I won't lie, a lot of the effort in this base was in backdrops and small details, some 'set pieces' took upwards of an hour to make, a 7 Eleven Sign, a Shower, the Toilet pieces. Here is the prose for the setting; Set in Grandville's slum-like East Ward is a walled off block of dilapidated flats and small alleyway. The key themes here are grunge, representing the slum state of Grandville with Arachnos pieces layered above what would of once been a normal city on a normal island, oppressive and imposing. But lawlessness makes the perfect place for an upcoming Villainess to call a safehouse. Above flats is the Arachnos 'Wall' of Grandville, dominating the area. It's a shithole of a place to live. I tried to build set piece backdrops quite literally touching 'the Wall'. This 7-Eleven sign is made up of different colors toilet stall pieces. The archway leads to Grandville itself. Within my characters apartment, she lives in squalor and lives off takeout. She loves Freedom Corps. A Villainess needs a place to work out, handy there is booze nearby! This was made with a Brick Archway piece and a Brick Wall turned upside down. Got to 'extract information' somehow. My character is an occultish goth type. The back fence has an electrical effect, I wanted a 'Hostel' movie feel crammed into a tiny apartment. En-suite to the Bedroom is a trashy restroom. This shower is made of the side of bathtubs to act as that cheap plastic cladding look. A public toilets is off the alleyway where a lot of drug trade and private discussion takes place, grunge slum shithole being keywords here. I learned how to do all this from those incredible Base Build videos, the limit is imagination because creating set pieces often requires pieces not usually used for it's purpose. What I am struggling with now is trying to create an underground private club accessed via a sewer pipe. Imagine an underground green-tinted cathedral Club similar to the Merovingians Club in The Matrix 'Club Hel' I am struggling where to start with this. Has anyone managed to craft a Cathedral with arched/gothic vibe to it and is there anything that gives off the almost neon green glow lighting seen in the film?
