Rad armor is a really good secondary choice also. And it actually is a real good boosts for cranking out extra damage. My SM/RAD does DPS as well as my WM/SD (the SM/RAD might actually do better). My SM/BIO and WM/BIO both have similar DPS results.

I used infrigidate, spectral, blind, spectral, mental blast. I try to not use mental blast depending on what other powers can be cast. Sleet and benumb are first priority when recharged. I could push ST DPS further if I was willing to give up proc'd psy nado and ranged softcap. I could swap Superior will proc into blind, build for more recharge, and switch to pyronic. Infirgidate has the new slow proc in it as well, everything is +5 (even though my mids shows +3), except the recharge IOs in spectral wounds to help it proc slightly more.

Staff/Ice Stalker, procced build, standard incarnates of Musc Core, Degen Core, Ageless Core, Pyronic Core, Assault Core (not toggled):

Did more runs as I tweaked things, and they all fall in that same general range, using AS > SR > PS > MB, popping in Water Spout or Build Up as they're up. Adding in Sky Splitter tends to add 20 or so seconds, which has been the problem every time I've tried to get something out of Staff since the proc changes, because I assumed, apparently wrongly, Sky Splitter would be better in a proc build. The best I'd done before was 2:21 with a Staff/Bio stalker, so I'm pretty happy with this version.

DB/Stone stalker, mostly procced except Power Slice which I needed for some set bonuses. Using standard incarnates Musc Core, Degen Core, Ageless Core, Pyronic Core, Assault Core (not toggled):

The build is usable without Ageless for endurance, but requires some use of Geode as a combat rest in that case. Crystal Armor is not really good enough to cover a proc build on its own, basically. It's overall very sturdy, but it will eventually die when completely swarmed by +4 Cimerorans and Shadow Meld and Geode are both down. Outside of that extreme defense debuff scenario, though, stone should be very tough.

I just want to say I had to look up Staff Fighting on my phone to remember Mercurial Blow, and was on the brink of asking you (sarcastically) to share with the class how you got Moonbeam and Water Spout on one character 🙂

Technically you could, with multiple builds and /selectbuild 1 or 2, but executing that would require everything to recharge. Would be pretty terrible on your dps and survival 😉

Funny, I'm currently setting out and incarnating a DB/EnA and your posts have definitely inspired me to try this. SR and ENA are really interchangeable in this situation. Only change I really did with build I'm gonna try is taking Zapp and Ball Lightning. You've still got as much endurance discount in yoru attacks as I would on a straight-through build. I'm gonna build the procced one first to see how I like it. I'm actually wondering if Zapp will find a place in the chain considering Nimble Slash is used for once. 😛

I’ve gone back and forth on my most recent builds with zapp+BL. In the end I decided to just make 2 builds, one which is higher survivability which eschews fun flavor powers, and one which is all out damage, with every attack procced, plus ball lightning and zapp. Zapp ended up being a wash in the attack chain no matter how much I tweaked, but I do really miss it as a ranged option and just for fun/convenience one shotting sappers and the like. Ball lightning is definitely nice to leverage with the critical strikes proc, but I found it didn’t take the character’s AoE from “good” to “great”, just to “good with a little extra”. However I’m toying with an EnA build now where I try to at least fit the snipe (feel like shadow meld is worth worthwhile than BL personally on an EA). EA misses physical perfection a lot less than SR, so there’s not much reason *not* to pick up a snipe, especially as Apocalypse might be the best of the purple sets in terms of bonuses. I’ll try to post the build I’m toying with once I get to do some pylon tests with it

ENA is pretty cool in that regard because it's not much a difference in survivability with the two builds then. If Zapp ends up being a wash, that means it can be a set mule then. And I get the bonus of haviung BL helping with AOE.

So if I end up not using Zapp that means I'll save a slot on the proc build and get 10% recharge. But you can see, it isn't much difference in survivability with the two. When looking at the numbers, definitely a noticeable difference with End/s and total end

 

Not gonna lie, I hope I like the proc build. I'm normally adverse to doing proc builds because of normally how much I have to sacrifice, but the combination of these two sets is letting me keep a lot of the numbers I value in good ranges. There is a very big difference in global ACC with the two. Kismet feels mandatory with the proc one. I can prolly take it out of the normal one since BF will give a fat boost when it lands anyways. There's about 20% recharge difference between the builds. With base temp and day job temp I'm not concerned.

With all this talk of BD I felt I had to give it another honest try.

 

It wasn't very scientific since once I got to the 2:30 mark and the pylon was still with a third of its HP I just quit. May need to be heavily procced.

I did a test run just to get the chain down (literally just adding nimble slice as opposed to the other one) with t3 muscle and t4 ageless. I didn't even have HOs slotted yet. Zero acc/dmg slotted 😄 End is definitely not an issue. Actually changing some of the build around because of that to get some more hp and hp/s. I definitely foresee my pylon time getting under two minutes once done, not sure if I'll average as low as @leeowensoas, but crazy ST DPS isn't why I rolled DB/ENA anyways. I just have always like DB and the current iteration of ENA.

Copied my swipe-only/inv scrapper to beta. T4ed Musc Core, Degen Core, Ageless Radial, Assault Core. No Pyronic as that wouldn't be kosher.

 

*IF* assault core was perma, she would eventually take it down. However, it isn't, so she can't. 😞

 This build looks SUPER solid. How do you feel DB/Energy compares to Claws/Energy?

 

I see you put the scrapper set in Typhoon’s Edge. What is the main reason for that? I need to just get over the animation for that move, since it’s one of the only AOE’s 😂

I'm biased as all get out towards claws. You ask me the best melee set and the answer is gonna be claws. I love the aesthetics, quickness, playstyle, just most of the things about it. @Bill Z Bubba get's that bias. I personally love both claws and DB but I give the nod to claws. DB plays awesome to me and I really like the aesthetics of holding two weapons. Coolness factor.

 

The ATO1 set? Just a really good place to put the set to me. Nothing fancy. And not like I need to actively use the ATO1 proc all the time. It's passive. @leeowensoas does the same thing with his DB/SR.

I've been doing some runs with my DB/ENA this post motivated me to try, and I'm getting 90-100s range and was wondering how you managed 77. You had assault on. I kept thinking that was an average for you. 😄

 

Paired with ENA, this guy is actually very survivable. ENA is just a great armor set. I'm tempted to try this with the DB/BIO and see what happens. That would just be a curiosity thing, cause I did do almost all the melee sets paired with bio to get an idea how they stack up with each other.

Minute and a half is something I dream about when my non procced, non Moonbeam, build had me giving up at 2:30 and the pylon still at a third of its HP.

Bio generally won't do it as well because it doesn't have the +rech bonus and this chain with procs requires a lot of global recharge. You can do stuff like this with bio, but you'll have to pump everything into recharge and not do as much defense, so you'll end up with a build that folds like a wet paper towel. This is why Bio is not always the answer. Billz did it on the previous page, for a small improvement, basically matching the top Stalker db times of about 1:30. To me that's not a decent trade at all, as the Stalkers in question are much sturdier than the bio build has to end up being.

I literally just done doing some averages with my DB/BIO built this way. It was averaging 80s. About 25s faster than the DB/ENA. The ENA is definitely sturdier, and would be way sturdier if no longer doing proc build. Going through the process of getting Snipe on the DB/ENA right now for as equal a comparison as possible.

Bio generally won't do it as well because it doesn't have the +rech bonus and this chain with procs requires a lot of global recharge. You can do stuff like this with bio, but you'll have to pump everything into recharge and not do as much defense, so you'll end up with a build that folds like a wet paper towel. This is why Bio is not always the answer. Billz did it on the previous page, for a small improvement, basically matching the top Stalker db times of about 1:30. To me that's not a decent trade at all, as the Stalkers in question are much sturdier than the bio build has to end up being.

Most of my best theroycrafted builds are actually /electricarmor. Damage aura, conserve power replica, and +recharge.

These are proc builds. I blame @leeowensoas for me wasting my time.

 

DB/ENA/MA (Melt Armor) 1:44 (104s) Average

 

DB/ENA/Snipe                   1:40 (100s) Average

DB/BIO/Snipe                    1:20 (80s) Average

 

@Bill Z Bubba might be interested in this part, it's really his comment that got me thinking.

 

With the DB/ENA/Snipe I tried BOTH Assault +DMG and DBL Hit.

 

The time was close enough to the same with +DMG it didn't make me think that serious about toggling it on.

 

But double hit...I was consistently getting times 15s lower than with +DMG and the average. My theory why? I've been able to see myself get close to the damage cap solo a LOT with just Blinding Feint, Empower, the BU proc in BF, and the BU proc in snipe. +DMG starts getting diminishing returns at that point and DBL Hit starts to pull ahead.

 

This is the current build for my DB/ENA/Snipe. I gotta say, it's way sturdier than I anticipated for something as damage oriented as it is. ENA is a beast.
