I'm actually getting my terms mixed up, I mean to say you're not even using Offensive Opportunity.

To me your results are fantastic DPS and I'm looking forward to play my future rad/ sentinel even more, haha. I planned to go /psi once again, but if the DPS is that good, it might not even be worth bothering with a melee attack.

Alright, final set of testing for the DP/Ene/Psi, for real this time. Switched to Degen Core at some point, haven't noticed any difference really vs Radial.

Respecced back into Dual Wield, but kept Suppressive and Assault, no Ageless and Hybrid not toggled:

273

277

(Sustain is much better)

Just for kicks, without using Enflame:

281

274

Other kicks, Hybrid and Ageless on:

329

Then, on a whim, replaced Suppressive with Piercing Rounds (so essentially my original build but plus Assault), and changed the chain to using Piercing Rounds instead of Dual Wield except when Opportunity was up (no Ageless/Hybrid again):

299

290

281

313

So that's the best so far... Could be the resistance debuff from Piercing Rounds proc. Could also be the fact I moved Decimation back to Dominate instead of in Suppressive, though I had it in their originally when I was using Dual Wield instead of Piercing.

Took a walk tonight with the weakest Controller Primary on the block.

Earth/Dark/Stone, Standard Rules of Engagement

T4 Intuition Radial and Ageless Core

No Interface, No Hybrid, I'm a monster! A Proc Monster!

4:58 (256 DPS)

The sick part is that time can technically be improved. And this wasn't a specialized ST build; I was using Fissure in my attack chain!

Fossilize, Seismic Smash, Hurl Boulder, Fissure, Volcanic Gasses (when up). Keep Stony Alive and drop Howling, Tar Patch, an occasional Soul Absorption, Fade, Ageless, and Hasten.

StJ/Rad/Soul brute

Degen T3, Vigor T3, Rebirth (unused), no passive accolades yet, fully IOed out but lacking some boosters.
Attack chain: CU -> SB -> RC -> Gloom -> SB -> RC
Heca + Unbreakable procs in CU. Apoc + Cloud Senses in Gloom. Touch of Death, Perfect Zinger and Achilles Heel in SB. Touch of Death, Perfect Zinger and Mako in RC. Achilles Heel in Beta Decay. Gaussian in Build Up (Combat Readiness, whatever 😉 )
Ground Zero is also slotted with Armageddon and Fury of the Gladiator -res, which I figured might help as a passable attack setting up -RES on the same timer as BU.

Using Ground Zero
3:50 = 294 DPS
4:32 = 268 DPS (might be flawed, Meltdown was on recharge)

No Ground Zero
4:07 = 283 DPS
3:52 = 293 DPS

4:00 = 287 DPS

No Ground Zero, No Build Up
3:46 = 297 DPS

3:46 = 297 DPS

First off, I was expecting 200 DPS and hoping for 220-240, while also bracing myself to be disappointed and end up at sub 200. Amazing results, considering this is a character geared for high survivability.

[Much credit to @Auroxis , who relentlessly posts impressive builds leveraging Melee Core Hybrid. The idea wormed its way into my head to combine Melee Hybrid, /rad's Meltdown and the brute resistance cap to end up with a character at 90% res to most damage types most of the time. Meltdown + Hybrid + Meltdown makes for an initial 4 minute stretch, then there's a one minute gap before Hybrid is up again; so the longterm uptime is 3/4. Add Vigor-powered Rebirth, radiation's natural healing/regen/absorb, ~20% positional defense through IOs and plug the rest with lucks as needed.]

Second, it looks like Ground Zero is at best a wash for ST DPS, although it's probably worth using with external damage sources (i.e. Lore pets) for that burst of -res.

I wondered if Build Up was even helpful given Brute's modifiers and Fury. It looks like it isn't, despite the Gaussian proc. This could make the power *more* versatile, in a sense: sitting unused in the tray and always ready for alphas, to counter tohit debuffs or a string of misses losing combo level.

Thanks for the shout-out @nihilii

I happened to run some StJ/Bio Scrapper tests myself over the weekend on Justin and reached similar results. The snipe has great synergy with sets that put most of their DPA into single attacks like StJ (Maybe it can boost Elec up to decent standards?).

I wonder how a Rad Melee/Bio Scrapper would do? 6x procs (including 2x -res) into Irradiated Ground (procs every 5 seconds), Moonbeam, and procced out regular attacks (thanks to the -def typing) should be a nice way to showcase proc and snipe power.

OK, so I made the above character on Justin and tested it out. Worked out better than I expected:

Radiation Melee/Bio Armor Scrapper

T4 Musculature Radial Paragon

T4 Degenerative Radial Flawless Interface

T4 Ageless Core Epiphany

Hybrid Off:

1:48
1:47
2:11
2:17
1:55

Peaked at 1:47, 486 DPS

Hybrid On:

1:25
1:40
1:27
1:52
1:48

Peaked at 1:25, 579 DPS

So, yeah. Rad Melee's pretty good, Moonbeam is pretty good, and procs are pretty good. Nice thing about Rad Melee is that it offers great AoE as well, I suspect this character could farm quite nicely.

There's a link to the Mids file in the post above it. But if you can't or prefer not to download that, I've put the build below (in spoilers for the sake of space):

Chain Induction - Jacob's Ladder - Charged Brawl - Assassin's Shock

Hecatomb and ToD in Chain Induction
Armageddon and -res proc in Jacob's Ladder
Stalker's Guile in AS

Total time was 2:32 (152 seconds) for a DPS of 380.104. That was a little lower than I was expecting/hoping for, but I'm curious to see how this set would actually handle in normal gameplay with all of the AoEs.

Stalkers scale better in teams due to the inherent. You have more base crit and often your recharge will be buffed high enough to run the CI-JL-AS chain.

Going to monologue a bit, but there are some juicy times at the bottom...

I was pretty pleased with the procced-out dp sentinel I made, and started thinking if there was another hidden gem somewhere on which I could use similar tricks. There are a few things to that sentinel that initially drew me to the combo besides just wanting a pistols character that worked:

1) High acc and some -def meant it didn't have to worry about slotting acc as much

2) DP obviously takes a bunch of procs, but importantly multiple Force Feedbacks for +recharge that doesn't affect proc rates

3) DP can slot 2 different kinds of -res procs in the chains I used

3) /Energy also adds free +recharge

4) /Energy easily softcaps without much outside of it

5) /Energy makes it easy to get 5 LotGs

6) /Energy makes slotting for -end less important

7) -res in Opportunity

So I wanted to see if I could make a monster out of another low-damage character, and went hunting for a tanker. (I've never gotten a tanker past the teens because the low damage, high team-support thing is just not me). /Energy, pretty much half of my plan there, didn't exist. So I went with /Electric which still has the +rech and recovery help from Energize but lacks defense. For secondary, I chose Broadsword, partially because it could do all of the same things listed for DP above, but also because it's T1 (which is desirable for tankers because it adds -res to the target) oddly has a higher recharge than others and therefore a better proc rate. It also has Parry to give some defense to Electric's resistance.

Priority order for this guy goes Enflame > Gloom > Head Splitter > Disembowel > Hack. Build up and Pyronic are also executed as they come up.

Caveats:

1) I did end up having to use Ageless, which I don't like, part way through these fights because I've got more toggles than the sentinel and lack the Defensive Opportunity for +recovery. I will probably try to change the build to get rid of this need so I can run Rebirth.

2) Unlike the Sentinel build, this doesn't have a ton of AoE (skipped Slice and have nothing from Epic Pool). However it does have a damage aura.

3) It's also not full-bore survival, which I don't like since it's a tank. However, it is softcapped to melee/lethal with Parry and has resistances and heals. I had to worry much less about the drop ship than on the Sentinel.

4) I made sure I had taunt because realistically I wouldn't skip that, but I could really use that power slot...

Incarnates setup just like the Sentinel: T4 Musc Core, T4 Degen Core, T4 Ageless Core, T4 Assault Core (not toggled)

DPS:

372
340
363
357
343
365
367
342

After the first run I thought it was a mistake... This is stronger than my DB/Elec Scrapper on live.

I'll be making a visit over to the Tanker forums by the end of the week, its been requested I turn to that AT next for my "Proc Monster" experimentation threads. Keep an eye out for it. Once I get done with Controllers in a couple more days, we're going to find out what Tankers can really do.

Latest Update, Plant/Dark/Leviathan Proc Monster Controller

This one'll tickle some fancy.

Standard Rules of Engagement

T4 Incarnates

Ageless Core

Agility Core

Degenerative Core

Support Core (passive)

2:50 from engagement to defective. 353 DPS.

I had two follow up runs that shared similar times of 3:01, and 2:58.

Procced out a Peacebringer, thinking I could leverage its kb for force feedback, -def for achilles and the hold procs in IStrike. Same as usual, T4 Musc Core, T4 Degen Core, T4 Pyronic Core, T4 Ageless Core, T4 Assault Core (not toggled). Priority is Photon Seekers > Enflame > RStrike > IStrike > Gleaming Blast > Dawn Strike

DPS:

271

272

258

Pretty disappointed in that after the tank's dps. However, the pb is sturdier than the tank, so I really shouldn't be, I was just hoping there would be some magic awesomesauce for pbs. I think maybe adding in Cross Punch with the -res and another purple proc might help, given it can only normally do the achilles -res unlike the tank and sentinel.

There is probably room for improvement, the optimal chain should be Radiant Strike-Incandescent Strike-Radiant Strike-Cross Punch-Gleaming Blast with 4 or more procs in each attack.

Quite possibly. It does depend some on how many force feedbacks you use to try to keep it up as much as possible. I had one nucleolus and all the rest procs of some sort in Rstrike, Istrike, and Gleaming Blast. I can try to fit in Cross Punch and see what happens. It's funny to me that IStrike is still worse than Rstrike procced out.

It's also not really relevant to what I would want to play on a PB, because it uses no kb to kd enhancements since that's not needed against a pylon/AV.

I respeced into Cross Punch on the PB and tried again.

Using order of Enflame > Photon Seekers > RStrike > IStrike > RStrike > GBlast > Cross Punch I got the below

DPS:

275
301
271
272

I also tried it taking IStrike completely out of the chain, because I felt like the long animation was hurting me (ironic in a proc build) and the more +rech from more frequent Cross Punch would help. So the new chain of Enlfame > Photon Seekers >RStrike > Cross Punch > GBlast, which also happens to be the chain I've been using on live (without all the procs though):

313
316
313

I think we have a winner there. The extra recharge and extra -res proc from Cross Punch really helps I guess. If I also had another of the fighting pool powers the extra Synergy bonus would increase that a tiny bit more.

I still don't think this is a build path for a playable PB in normal content, however it would do very nicely for a second build to switch to right before hitting an AV.

Dangit, now I have to go look at what a Proc built chain for Fighting Pool looks like...

That's pretty impressive for PB considering there is a post in the PB forum that suggests they can't break 101 dps.

Eeeeexcuse me, the post in question does not suggest a PB can't break 101 DPS, it suggests that I can't break 101 DPS playing a PB... Two big differences as they say in Odessa...

Dark/Invul Sentinel, courtesy of @oldskool who writes about Dark Blast in a way that makes it impossible to not reroll 🙂

Musc T3, Degen T3, Ageless T4 recovery, Assault T3

Attack chain: (Antumbral Beam -> Abyssal Gaze -> Life Drain -> Dark Blast) * 3, then AB -> AG -> Aim -> Blackstar
Hybrid is clicked once at the beginning, but not clicked again when it recharges.

4:24 = 273 DPS
4:28 = 270 DPS
5:07 = 252 DPS
4:29 = 270 DPS

An easy and mostly ranged attack chain, on a character that shrugs off most damage. Adding Life Drain on /invul sturdiness is gloriously overkill. Then for groups, we've got Umbral Torrent and its 100% KD, and Blackstar doing -35% tohit.
