I actually came back to mention some of the above as even on live I molded the bio's of my alts based on this too. I had a set of sisters that were Rad based so I chose Chernobyl as a backstory which resulted in applicable names. It's so much more about stepping outside of the box really when it comes to character names. I have one name that I use Everywhere online for gaming and I've Never had trouble getting that name even though there aren't any fancy characters or spacing. As for your top bit (on the snip), this is what most players don't seem to know/remember and it has a Major impact on naming. That and the fact that the global was introduced to allow you to interact across servers. So when it comes down to it, it'd be Easier to do naming based on servers than global because global would REDUCE the capacity of names (if it were even possible) because then you couldn't have the same name on two servers (some people like mirroring their alts to play with different friends, expand on alt build design, etc).

I'm gonna get torched I'm sure, but those are really obvious alternatives and likely common enough that others would pick up on for sure. This appears to be the problem many have (that have issues finding the name they want), but to some of us it feels more like a lack of effort than anything else. Be it Live or Now, I've very rarely had an issue getting a name within the first couple tries. Granted, I don't tend to try cloning existing things (which is technically against the naming rules btw) either. People have different approaches to names, costumes, etc and that's great. Personally, unless I already have a theme in mind, I'll base the character off of say a new AT. Here are some examples of names that I'd managed within 1-6 tries (mostly first try): Bone-Chilling Ice costume Hard Boiled Fire costume Stone Walled Stone costume Titan Oh Myy Titan weapons Water Marked Water powers Here to Bite KOIS Tribute alt for the purpose of looking at KOIS' bases that he builds on a server I wasn't playing on :P Cyphilis Centurion Crab AT Double Reticle Dual pistols Main de la Morte MM with zombies I believe Verborgenes Feuer Fire/Fire/Fire alt

The folder structure should be the same for the Mac install, but you'll need to understand (I don't have a working Mac to test) how to navigate the Game package file. Once there, you just need to drop the i23's /data folder into the root of the game folder, then drop the update's /data folder onto that and merge the contents.

If you don't see the correct maps, then delete the data folder, install the i23 first (into the /data folder) and then drop the update's data folder onto the root of COH so that it'll merge with the /data folder. Tell it to overwrite and you should be done.

I kinda Had to with my Atom device, but so long as the SD is of sufficient class, then it should be quite portable. The only downside is that if you go from one device to another, then the registry information may change. Oh and make sure you're assigning the SD card the same drive letter on all devices to avoid breaking links (just in case, not tested). As a pseudo test, I copied the CoX folder from my desktop to that machine initially, ran the Tequila installer (pointed to the folder), and the only thing I had to change was the display settings. Oddly enough, when I went Back to my desktop the display settings were the Same as that of the Atom device, so I made an educated guess that somehow the server is storing some of this data.

Realistically? You wouldn't take them, even if that meant taking an unused power.

This as a realistic method to accomplish the OP's request, but TBH, I don't see how you can realistically have a "dead and done" character with this type of game. For the most part, even a L50 will run into content that will all but one-shot you. Beyond that, unless you have absolutely no "feelings" for your alt, then it's a complete departure from what the game is about. That said, it's your alt to do with what you please.

It was tried on live and broke the system apparently. So until someone gets REALLY bored and completely rebuilds the core game code from scratch, then that's our limit.

Anything with a display resolution Maximum that is below the Minimum that the game offers.

You're Supposed to be running through tequila, not the game app unless you're using some sort of custom startup thing.

Considering it's a remake and not prequel like, unless they're talking about Caprica...either way, the tone of the classic BSG is Way different.

There use to be a glitch where the colors would shift and some people managed to bypass it by changing the SG colors back and forth to trigger the change.

Even without the AV supposedly active, make sure the game folder is whitelisted.

Yeah, as mentioned, likely one of the biggest reasons for it not being currently allowed/able to happen would be the easy abuse of storage contents. IDK how you'd do it otherwise (program bases to avoid it), but I imagine it'd be kinda tricky unless it was a universal storage bin accessible everywhere ingame, then that would simply be a link to a completely separate storage bin.
