Ice Cold Controller 50 /Need help with AOE macros or bindings Ice
Carnifax replied to Adhdps's topic in Controller
Yes, you can just /bind in the same way /bind x "powexec_location target Freezing Rain" should do it. Its immensely useful, especially in mad 8 mans where you cant see (I just came off a Tf with 5 masterminds, a controller and two defenders. Being able to just press a key to drop Times slow field was a godsend) -
Yup. My Necro/Nature MM found this out the hard way for both this AND Life steal-thingy. Why are you leaving Slowed Response to 49? Thats your -resist aoe, and those are some of the best power multipliers around.
-
Spectral at 12, Flash at 18, PA at 26 would be a more "normal" progression. With flashes hideous animation time shortened by 33-50%. Illusion is just an oddball in general.

When are we actually going to see a large patch with new content?
Carnifax replied to eldriyth's topic in General Discussion
The other server content seems slightly reckless to me to be honest. Some of the Kheldian changes and controller changes look like theres been little regard for overall balance (controller pets at level 1 for example). Customisation stuff looks good from what ive read but the powers changes are very gung ho. Also rearranging powers like that is, coding wise, very cheap resourcewise. Easy to do, the trick is knowing why and if you should be. -
Ice Cold Controller 50 /Need help with AOE macros or bindings Ice
Carnifax replied to Adhdps's topic in Controller
The "drop a placable onto my target" is my favourite on Plant/Storm and Ill/Dark Eg : /macro FR "powexec_location target Freezing Rain" Just adapt to the powers you want to cast I have 3 of them. Typically I put them into tray one and the power they cast directly above in tray 2. That way you can see when they are recharged and/or want to use the tray2 version for precise placement. On my mastermind I use self targetting to summon / resummon pets beside me quickly. -
Necro / Nature is also interesting once you start slotting for +recharge and the AoE buffs start approaching perma, stacked with the -ToHit and Lich control. Id still say Demon / Nature is tougher though. But then you also have to put up with the noise and bulk of demons.
-
Id hope thats where it will end up. Wont be "choose a costume file" because those are local on your machine but "choose a costume slot" should be possible (allowing for the standard code rant because there might be weirdness serverside).

Masterminds?
-
An Illusion/Rad can solo AVs, but that doesnt tell you the whole story. Plenty of other builds can clear other content much, much faster than them.
-
Why prior? Attuned Ios gain effectiveness as you level so you may as well frankenslot with 4 attuneds and be done. Since you can use converters to flip its not too arduous to craft any Defense set ios and convert til you get what you want.

Increase the number of powers that can be placed in auto
Carnifax replied to DrRocket's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
On which server? Certainly not the case for Reunion or Everlasting. As for the OP im not sure. Sure I could see it being useful for some Incarnate powers and those annoying clicky mez protections Shield gets but beyond that? -
will homecoming be able to make new content?
Carnifax replied to cparks70402's topic in General Discussion
One option would be to give Defenders some assault sets. Say the types they dont already have (Martial, Earth, Savage and Thorns I think). A Kinetics / Martial defender sounds fun. -
Charging for Powerlevelling to level 50
Carnifax replied to Queen Nefertiti's topic in General Discussion
Pretty much this. Some chars are urrgh before level 22 so ive no issue PLing through the pain. Or an End recovery power I desperately need (glares at Elec Armour) -
Yes seems like an oversight. Made my Necro/Nature proccermind slightly disgruntled.
-
With Cold I assume its a general balance thing compared to Storm. Time also has to wait til 35 to get its -resist power. The wait / gap puts me off Cold too though. If it was switched Id probably stick with / give Cold a run. Agreed on Grav 100%. Fire gets Flashfire at 12, Earth gets Stalagmites and Dark gets its pbaoe stun. For Electric most sets get their AoE hold at 18 so it makes sense. 26 is usually an "additional" AoE control.
-
I've had mixed bags on Reunion. Some amazing tanks who communicate, tank and check the squishies, some not so much. Had a RWZ like that where I was both a Plant / Storm squishy and the only support on the team and the Tank was a Scrapperlock tanker. That wasn't much fun. I tend to only bring my Ill/Dark on high level TFs now because I know she's capable of at least holding the line and keeping fellow squishies upright if the Tank is off elsewhere Scrapperlocking. (And yes, she's total chaos control but that's the raison d'etre for an Illusionist)

Thugs/Dark and Thugs/Nature maybe? Backed with a Cold & Sonic defender. As above Demons/Nature would work too provides you can handle the annoyance of demons (big, bulky and noisy. Same with bots). Reason being Nature lets you augment resist too, and has the lovely lovely other buffs (aoe damage tier 9 and the aoe absorb) plus immense heals and a sprinkling of debuffs and control. Defender-wise Sonic gives you anti-mez coverage. Cold gives you shields and you can stick its nastiest debuff on auto so itll cast through you onto an enemy.

Been trying to think of an Team friendly AV killer Defender now that my Warshade is pretty much done and this sounds interesting. Especially since I read it walking to work this morning and thought of a concept (90s Troll rave DJ who woke one afternoon after an all-nighter with control over loops and beats after taking something he shouldn't have). I went more down the proc path at the expense of some Def (*think* they're still softcapped but not sure) and resistance, and Leadership over Fighting. My WM / Rad build is a few spots down, some of that may be useful in terms of what to go for. From my observations on Rad I'd move the Achilles Heel into Ground Zero as well, it's not as useful in a toggle. The Perfect Zinger proc actually seems (according to Mids) to be worse than the others (I thought all were equal). Mine is slotted with Eradication, Sciroccos Dervish, Lady Grey, Achilles Heel and Shield Breaker procs, plus one Acc IO. That means you're pretty sure to hit every enemy with all the procs, and the Toxic DoT (and all your nasty follow ups) will have the Res debuff. I love my mini-nuke. Bear in mind that there have been rumblings on how Procs interact with long-recharge powers but no details other than the powers guy going "I must look at that". In terms of building as you level Attuned IOs are obviously your friend here. I started with Procs 1st, then 6 Oblits in my PBAOEs since they give you everything you want, then 4 Kinetics Combats in single attacks, then 4 slotting your sets of choice into the Armour toggles. One-slot wonders (the uniques & LOTG) when you've finshed some TF and are feeling flush. My totals ended up close to Cutters (slightly stronger Lethal / Smashing res & defense at the cost of Fire & Cold) so overall his is a very good guide towards some shape of a build to aim for.

I'd like a bit of feedback on my WM/Rad build. I'm a bit of the way towards this build currently but worried I've split my focus too much between Defense, Resistance and Recharge and ended up too jack-of-all-trades overall. Hurrah! I was questioning my own sanity here.
-
Are you sure? Pretty sure Carni uses it just like a Break Free when needed.
-
You've got buffs covered so I'd go a debuff set. With that in mind coupled with the fact the gap in the trio seems to be control I'd go Necro/Dark/Heat. Lots of lovely debuffs and brings control to the party. I'm running a Necro/Nature at the moment but given you have a Kin Natures big buff isn't going to bring a huge amount extra to the party, something that can weaken your enemies more seems a better bet. TA is another option (but much as I liked my Grav/TA on live it does need a buffage pass).
-
Could be the power boost applying to other def powers. Maneuvers and Combat jumping. Mids doesnt discriminate between long lasting click powers and toggles because technically it is right (for the few seconds pb is up)

Or an idiot pet who does damaging knockback and other attacks *pats Phantasm on its glowing-but-empty head* I am going to slot one into my Zombies on my mastermind for the giggles of enemies slipping over on zombie puke.
