How about a classic John Woo/Matrix styled character, and go with dual pistols/martial combat?
-
I think it was in the RIFTS: Japan sourcebook, where they had various factions of Ninja - those that were simply highly trained, but otherwise normal, those that used mystical arts/magic/psionics, and those that utilized cybernetics, chemical augmentation, and powered armor, to all achieve similar results - gave each an interesting "flavor" and outlook...
-
Are you requesting an equine head option or just a singular head-horn? We do have a rhino horn, but oddly not a single unicorn one...
-
Sure it did - some people use it as a bad word, so it gets blocked. It isn't about how you or your child use the word - it's about providing a broad protection against offensive uses of it. If you feel your child is mature enough to understand how it can also be used in the an offensive manner, (and how to avoid doing so themselves), then by all means disable the filter and carry on with your gameplay.
-
What about asexual, polyamorous, bisexual, demisexual, and the like. Those really aren't/haven't been used as slurs. (although shortening "homosexual" probably should be filtered). Regardless, if you want to express yourself more freely, you can disable said filter or go to other venues that aren't a teen-rated game.
-
People can use the word "queer" as a slur. Some people are not ready or prepared to parse out the difference between it being used as a simple identifier or as an attack. It's similar to why we have the "no real life or politics" rule - some people do not want to bring real world topics in-game.
-
As a teen rated game, I'd assume 13, (though there are likely even younger people playing, though those are not technically allowed).
-
I agree, but at the same time, it is much more difficult to filter them out via some in-built mechanism. At the same time, you can certainly report any objectionable costumes.
-
But you have to acknowledge that your "chosen descriptor" can also be used as a slur. The great thing is that you can disable the filter; It is meant to be very restrictive. Look at things from the perspective of a parent supervising a child player who is of the minimum allowable age.
-
You can't account for every permutation of words that may be offensive. It is actually against the rules to bypass the filter via misspellings and the like. That being said, we as mature adults can disable the filter and go on our merry way. There's no need to remove any words from said profanity filter.

Do you have an aversion to answering criticism clearly and concisely, or are you just unable to do so?
-
No, the point is, COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR TEAM! The leader not disclosing this from the get-go was certainly their fault, but the other team members not asking about how it will be run is also an issue on their end, (much less so, though, given that running withOUT enhancements is definitely NOT the norm)...

HELP! New laptop has huge ping when playing
biostem replied to Flintlock Burnfur's topic in Help & Support
OP, I don't think it's an issue with your laptop itself, and using the -usetexenvcombine switch should help with the integrated graphics adapter. Is there a reason you are manually pointing the the game to that directory? Also, are you at all able to try connecting via ethernet? have you tried removing the manual directory command and verified the files? Do you have any mods installed? -
Lockouts, savage melee/assault, psy melee
biostem replied to WindDemon21's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I like to put a non-savage melee attack in my rotation specifically to allow me to drop below 5 stacks, so I can then use the other attacks that would normally cause a lock-out, without doing so. The recharge buff is way more useful, IMHO, than the bit of extra damage or other effect you get from consuming the stacks... -
Left hand: WASD, 1-0 keys, spacebar, other keys as needed. Right hand: Mouse and numpad as needed.

Lockouts, savage melee/assault, psy melee
biostem replied to WindDemon21's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I agree with removing the lockout for insight in Psi Melee, because it is kind of random. As for Savage Melee, because powers either grant blood frenzy or consume it once you have 5 stacks, it adds an element of strategy as to when and if you consume said stacks, and with how good bloody frenzy's buff is, that seems like a fair tradeoff... -
You can certainly build your characters however you like, but the idea is that, as a dominator, you lock down enemies and make them your playthings; You may want to do your damage from range, or you may want to take the risk, (albeit lessened thanks to your control abilities), to close to melee range and deal even more damage. In the broadest sense, what you are "manipulating" is the element or type of ability associated with the set - fire, ice, martial arts, etc. Those powers are there to compliment your ranged blast attacks and also to compensate for when the enemy closes in. A Corruptor's secondary set if buff/support. The sets having names like "Nature Affinity" is merely there for flavor. If you want to be more literal, it is simply an area your character happens to have a talent for.

A lot of words can be construed as acceptable or offensive, depending upon who is using the word, how they are using the word, and to whom they are directing it. The beautiful thing is that you can disable the profanity filter and not have to worry about it one bit. Better to err on side of caution and leave it in there, since anyone likely to want to discuss their sexuality in a respectful and mature way would know how to disable the filter, and should anyone want to supervise a younger player, for whom they do not want to see sexuality discussed in-game, they can leave the filter on.

Nice costume! (too bad it won't be around long)

OR ONLY USING CAPS! -
Play anything with Energy Aura - it's basically the same thing.

It was a flawed, but entertaining TV series for its time.

If you want a more specific breakdown, let's start with what the 2 sets have in common: 1. PBAoE heal. 2. Ranged single-target ally-only heal. 3. Another ranged, single-target ally-only heal, but heals for more and deals some damage to you, while also preventing you from healing yourself for a short while. 4. Rez power 5. Ally-only mez protection Where they diverge: 1. Empathy has the 2 "RAs"; Recovery Aura and Regeneration Aura 2. Pain Dom has Soothing Aura (HoT) or Suppress pain (PBAoE +regen) 3. Pain Dom has World of Pain, which is a PBAoE +dmg, +tohit, +RES 4. Empathy has Fortitude, which is a single target ally +dmg, +tohit, +DEF There are more differences as well - check the links in the 1st response I gave for a full breakdown...
-
In general, Empathy is more defensively-oriented, while Pain Domination is more offensively-oriented.

If you chose a non-flesh tone color for the skin, you could make the secondary color of the bone boots & gloves match that color, so it looks more organic/integrated...
