  1. Is this the appropriate place to tip fedoras to the m'ladies?
  2. And if those wrist mini-shields are as good as they appear to be, or at least we have the precedent of the Gungan handheld shields, why aren't they employed more often. I get that they can't really be on 24/7, but c'mon! It's also odd that female mandalorians appear to lack thigh armor... vs
  3. Did you mean a Defender or Corruptor, because Controllers don't get blast sets...
  4. Can someone just clarify something for me - is it that some Mandalorians have Beskar armor, and are able to tank blaster shots like they were nothing, while others have pieces made from other materials, or is it just a plot contrivance that one blaster shot may knock a Mandalorian on their butts, while another sparks harmlessly and they carry on completely unfazed. I have to assume it's the former, as Din originally only had the helmet. Along the same lines...
  5. I never got the hang of incorporating the + into the commands. I'll have to give this a try.
  6. Maybe just keep them and instead place in some mini-portals, then. Sure, but please don't make them random...
  7. Just make then instantly teleport you a connecting pad on another island...
  8. I think the shadow shard play experience could be improved by implementing a few things: > Add a new currency - Shadow Shard Exploratory Tokens, (or SSETs), along with appropriately placed vendors. These would be awarded at a fairly low rate for defeating Shard Shard enemies, and in a more reliably manner for completing missions and story arcs in the Shadow Shard. In addition to granting the temporary jet pack, adjust the Shadow Shard day job to also provide some bonus tokens when you log back in. > These tokens could then be exchanged for some useful or otherwise desirable items: 1. A special version of the Team Transporter temp power, which only works in the Shadow Shard, and which has a shorter cooldown, (15 mins or so). 2. Allow converting SSETs to reward merits at whatever is deemed a reasonable rate. 3. Offer some other useful powers for SSETs, such as temporary jetpacks or maybe special temporary shield powers that offer special resistance to minions of Rularuu. > Intersperse some waypoint-like mini bases throughout the Shadow Shard that offer amenities like a crafting table, a portal back to Portal Corp, a trainer, hospital beds, a vendor, and so on. > Add something akin to the police radio or newspaper, but within the Shadow Shard, to support teams that just want to do PUGs there. Other notes: The SSETs that are awarded at the end of each mission should account for the size of the map and whether it is a defeat all or not. I know adding yet another new currency is not a favorite idea among folks, but I don't think having Shadow Shard content award something like Vanguard merits makes much sense, and using inf kind of detracts from the specialness of doing this zone-specific content...
  9. Storm blast has a much higher degree of intra-set reliance/interaction than almost any other set. As such, looking at any single power outside of these interactions will appear lacking...
  10. I'd like this, but I think the animation may be tied to the 2-handed nature of katana vs 1-handed for broadsword. It would be interesting to see it rigged up, though...
  11. It's an interesting idea, but I don't really like the idea of an entire category of powers that only work when you are defeated. What if they only triggered while at very low health, instead? Alternatively, I could see an additional destiny or 2 that can do something like rez yourself or only work once you are defeated...
  12. Ad-hom. Address my points and don't tone-police me. Not at all. I'm just critiquing your OP, which lacks clarity and detail. And I never objected to you posting here. i only objected to obvious holes and lack of forethought in your suggestion. No, but they were made to be functional across a wide range of enemy types and difficulty levels. You seem to think MMs can function pretty much with just leadership toggles, which they clearly cannot. Nothing in your OP hinted at this at all. Funny how quickly you reverse course once your ignorance is turned around on you. Your opinion. Oh I've posted about new ATs and responded to other people's posts plenty of times. The difference here is that your is not well thought out and lacks critical considerations with regard to how the game actually works. Don't blame the messenger when the flaws in your ideas are pointed out. No, just here to provide feedback. If you don't want feedback, don't post. You can write all your ideas in notepad, where no one will ever scrutinize them and you'll never get criticism. "I thought [it] was neat" isn't enough - it has to be functional and fit within the existing framework of the game. Ignore me if you like, it won't change the fact that you don't seem to be able to take criticism. Besides one other responder, I'm literally the only person that even gave your idea the time of day...
  13. This topic isn't so much about the upcoming storm blast set itself, but what ATs and other set(s) you folks are considering pairing with it. I've tested a few different combinations on Sentinels and Blasters on the Beta server, and so far I'm leaning toward rolling another Sentinel, but I want to try a few Defender builds out. What are your thoughts/ideas? Cheers!
  14. Here's yet another idea: Earth control, fire assault, leviathan dominator - earth control, besides its namesake powers, gets quicksand (water) and volcanic gasses (fire). Fire assault obviously gets fire powers, and leviathan master gets water spout and bile spray, which both can also approximate water and wind. You also get a mix of ranged and melee attacks built into the secondary that way. You can also take hibernate for more water/ice, and you get a thematic armor toggle if you wanted... Another thought - sonic assault has various screams/screeches, which could be wind/air, and you still get the melee attacks...
  15. Well, tankers get granite instead of geode, which is a very good power, but you can't get the waterspout power from their version of leviathan mastery. That being said, tanker earth mastery gets quicksand, which I rather like. Their pyre mastery is rather good, though. If you interpret kinetic melee as air & water, then the armor as earth/water/fire, then the ancillary/power pool to fill in where needed, you should be fine. The question is simply how much imagination you want to employ with the character vs how much of the powers' effects are obviously one element or another...
  16. What if, once cast, the storm cell power becomes an "eye of the storm" power, which simply allows you to place a beacon, which the storm cell naturally moves toward, (with you being the secondary target if no such beacon has been placed).
  17. Here's another idea: Kinetic Melee/Stone Armor/Mu Mastery Scrapper Kinetic Melee is very "flowie" and feels kind of like water or air, stone armor has a "watery" power via mud pots, a fire -like power via brimstone armor, then you get electricity via mu mastery, (though you could get more fire effects from blaze mastery or more water stuff via Leviathan mastery - you can get a water spout via the latter).
  18. Alternatively, if you didn't want to wait, you could create a storm summoning/seismic blast (which is earth), defender, then take the flame mastery ancillary power pool, to get a similar effect...
  19. The question is, though - how does that compare to something like carrion creepers? I'm not arguing that it is slow - it clearly is, but is that mobility more of an added feature as opposed to a core part of the power's intended use? A part of me would have rather seen storm cell function like either a location-based toggle or one centered around you, with a longish recharge to compensate.
  20. Wait for storm blast to be released; It encompasses air, ice, and lightning. Then you can go with something like a storm blast/earth sentinel, then take the fire ancillary power pool, and you've pretty much covered all 4 elements.... You could pretty much accomplish the same with a blaster, defender, or corruptor.
  21. A better option would be to have the default graphic simply show the Vanguard 'V' logo superimposed over the character, like the Patron armors do, (with an option to not display it, of course). You could use a variant of that unlockable costume change emote as the activation animation, though...
  22. Exactly - we don't see Arachnos troops running around with the various patron armors on them - it's an effect that was added after the fact...
  23. I literally listed on in my OP. I see no reason, though, that you couldn't offer a defense version, a la Scorpion Shield, though...
  24. I think we're past the point of making it into a sort of "mantle" a la James Bond. That being said, (and I loathe to bring up the concept of prequels), but there's the time period between Young Indy and Raiders that could be explored by a younger actor...
