Process to request alterations to Homecoming Policies

Sure, but that's different than suggesting some sort of list regarding things that will never be implemented. This was one specific subject that they just so happened to already have made a decision about. -
Process to request alterations to Homecoming Policies
biostem replied to Kistulot's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
No. I think saying "never" is bad. I think saying "these things will not be changed/implemented ever" is bad. I think saying responding that "this is the decision we have come to, for now", in response to a particular inquiry, is sufficient... -
Process to request alterations to Homecoming Policies

I highly doubt they'd want a "we're never gonna do these things" post/section. Not only would it look bad, but it also precludes them from ever actually addressing or changing their minds about things at a later date. IMHO, and at least from an operations standpoint, it's better to maintain "soft policies" that may change at a later date, (however unlikely that may in fact be). -
Process to request alterations to Homecoming Policies

I don't disagree with the sentiment, but this assumes that they already have a policy in place for every (hypothetical) scenario/suggested addition. If they don't, or if all of the GMs aren't already aware, then they'll default to normal processes... -
Sony cancels the Spiderverse films
biostem replied to ZacKing's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I could be misremembering, but I vaguely recall an article about how some recent superhero movies had started filming action sequences before they even had a script ironed-out. If true, this screams of a "cart-before-the-horse" mentality, which desperately needs to be done away with... -
In all the years I've played CoH, I've never actually leveled up a character using super strength. I very much like radiation armor, so I thought it'd pair well with SS. I'm skipping jab and most likely going to take boxing, tough, weave, and maybe dip into the leadership pool. Any advice you have for this particular pairing, (SS in particular, since I already have experience with rad armor). I'm working off of the assumption that, even with the significant damage debuff when rage crashes, I'll still be able to maintain aggro via taunt and punchvoke, Thanks for your input and cheers!

What if we took a different approach; Make this proposed "power armor" set consist of mostly passive/auto powers, with only a few "active" powers; A "shield overlay" click power that applies a big lump of absorption, or a cloaking device that grants stealth, a targeting system that grants acc or tohit, etc, but otherwise, no toggles...

It's also important to keep in mind that all blasters get some sort of "sustain ability" and additional sources of damage in their secondary, while only some sentinel secondaries offer additional end/recovery or other such damage boosting abilities, (and that's not including the greater number of AoEs and the higher target caps blasters get).

Sony cancels the Spiderverse films
biostem replied to ZacKing's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I'm actually surprised that they haven't tried to create a live action film with Miles Morales in it... -
What they could do is apply a placate effect, whilst at the same time creating the aforementioned "temporal echo", using a combination of illusion's phantom army mirror option, along with the destructible nature and taunt effect of the SoA's Omega device, (only with no damage component).
-
I wonder if it would be possible to implement some sort of "temporal echo" effects as part of such a proposed armor set - basically, you create decoys of yourself that enemies falsely attack instead of you. Besides that, the set kind of sounds like ice armor with a few tweaks, (not that that's a bad thing). Take some elements of ice armor, energy aura, and perhaps some powers from blasters' temporal manipulation, to come with something that has a unique feel or playstyle...

I'm going to make 3 recommendations, (though 2 use the same secondary powerset). Namely, those are: 1. Dual Pistols/Ninjitsu Sentinel - You have the advantage of range and a secondary set with pretty much no holes in the protection it provides. On top of that, dual pistols has its "swap ammo" power, which provides an added layer of versatility - want more damage, go with incendiary ammo. Want more range and control, switch to cryo ammo. Want a bit more in the way of debuffs, give toxic ammo a try. Ninjitsu also provides a self heal or endurance recovery power that you can use on demand. 2. Katana/Ninjitsu Scrapper - In addition to the already-mentioned advantages Ninjitsu grants you, Katana is a solid set and can further compliment the defense that Ninjitsu already grants you. 3. Radiation Armor/Savage Tanker or Savage/Radiation Armor Brute - Whichever of these 2 you go with, they'll be a solid powerhouse. Savage Melee is about sustained damage and provides a significant self recharge and endurance discount buffs, plus a bit of added mobility in its T9 attack. Radiation Armor provides solid resistances and will pretty much make sure you never run out of endurance. It also offers absorption, which is uncommon among armor sets, as well as a PBAoE power that both harms & debuffs enemies, whilst also healing allies.

Yeah yeah... We've heard this song before; They're meanies for not implementing what someone wants, they're meanies for giving an answer to a question, (if that answer isn't what you wanted to hear), and if they take action in response to a person bringing up an issue they made a decision on and said was over... 🥱 -

HC needs to develop a policy on memorials.

Another option is to include the costume or likeness of the person you want to remember in an AE mission - even if it had the minimum to depict said person/character, since you can utilize custom NPCs there... -

Kind of a related question - if someone created a SG base, and shared the access code, does that persist when they go offline? Maybe people could create their own memorial SG bases for those they wish to remember, and simply post the access code in a section of these forums...
